As Felix happily munched on a piece of freshly toasted toast, spread with pumpkin preserve and fresh butter, he noted that no other Gryffindors were eating breakfast at the moment. Was it because he was eating breakfast toast at 1:24 in the afternoon, or perhaps the sear reason of his most likely spreading reputation of being a crazy insane genius who had trouble follow him like a cloud of doom. Either way, Felix wasn’t one to care in any case.
As he finished the piece of toast, he simply sat back at stared up at the long stonewall. It seemed a code was spread out on every stonewall he could find, somehow a sequence of spaces created some sort of code. Maybe the positioning of being either an odd or even number of centimeters from the wall was a binary system that translated in to some language, created some message or some sort of history or prophesies of past or future secrets? Felix was sure to be the only person to ever think of such things, and even more so the only one to ever successfully translate the code, that is, if there is one.
As he was bored and somehow feeling like he wanted to wait for other people to come in, Felix picked up the plate he had eaten his toast on and stared at it. The balance of a plate was perfectly even around all edges. Spinning it with both hands he realized that with a flick of his wand he could create a very simple spinning mechanism with a gyroscopic axis.
Highly enlightened, Felix thought of a simple peanut on a large plate, then ten more peanuts in the same manor. The ten plates appeared, each with a single peanut in the center. Eating the peanut, Felix, one by one, spun the plates on edge and keeps them going with his wand. When all ten of the porcelain objects were in motion, Felix flicked his wand and they rose from were they were to higher in the air.
Watching as he created a aerial system of flight, with perfect rotational patterns, Felix was highly enlighten how he had created a total galactic system on a miniature scale right in front of his own two eyes. Grinning as he conducted the spinning system, Felix waved his wand like an orchestra conductor.
So many ideas of what to do with his experiment flooded into his mind. Grabbing a peanut with his free hand, he threw it into the mix and watched as it fit right into place. Then, a age old theory that he had in his head for ages about the result of a large spherical galaxy smashed into a planted that dwarfed it in size, Felix lowered his creation to the ground, about three feet of the cold stone floor. Taking a plate with magic, Felix created an artificial pull to the floor and watched in amazement as the plate smashed into a hundered pieces. The pieces didn’t shatter, simply they just spun back together into there planetary place in this system.
Smashing two plates at once, not only shifted the entire experiment but the rotation repositioned its self to the pull of the floor creating a very enlightening effect. Soon, with a large smile on his face, Felix smashed all the rest of the plates one by one and dropped the magic so all the pieces fell into a nice neat pile. Grinning and oblivious to everything else, Felix took out a folded notebook from his robe pocket and a pre-inked quill and started scrillbing down a ton of notes and theories based of his small experiment.
Pausing to think, Felix looked around and saw some very odd looks. Shrugging, Felix flicked his wand with “Reparo” as the plates came back to there original state, gave a feeblish smile with a excuse for his odd behavior.
“I break plates.”
