Adrian smiled at all of the new people she'd gotten to meet. She looked over at Whites as he began to speak to the air. That was weird. The food that he asked for appeared on his plate. She was amazed. Leon began to explain what in the world just happened. He ordered his food and then Amira after him. He told her to try it.
"I'll have chicken and green beans," the food appeared on her plate. "Water," she said and the goblet filled with water. This school was a lot different from home. She picked up the fork next to her and began eating the green beans. Yum.

One by one, the others ordered. Whites, of course, was only slightly refined with his steak and salad, while Leon went for more home-style cooking. Amira and Adrian followed suit, both ordering green beans, and then it was Micha's turn. She spoke, quietly commanding as ever.
"Caesar salad with chicken. Glass of milk."
The above appeared, along with utensils, and the Slytherin delicately dug in, doing her best to ignore the uncouth way Whites wolfed down his steak. At least Leon and the girls had some manners.
Whites, once he was happy that everyone had not been waiting for something and he wasn't committing some crazy faux pas, dug in. It was delicious as usual, of course, just how he wanted it. Magic was an amazing thing, though he knew technically magic had just cooked and summoned it. Someone still had to be a good chef, and he was happy with whoever that chef was. Was it just some guy with like, eighty arms in the basement, all in a kitchen? That was a cool idea, but he doubted it. He'd have to make a trip to the kitchens sometime, he'd heard it was a magical, mysterious place.
When Micha ordered her food, Whites looked up. Man, what a wimpy meal. Salad and chicken? Milk? And these other kids with their green beans? He was all good with vegetables, but come on. No red meat anywhere. He felt alone in his meat-eating, so he struck up a conversation with Micha--after he had finished his mouthful, of course. He didn't want to spray her with beef or something.
"There you go!" Leon said encouragingly as Adrian ordered her food and began to eat. Having introduced the new Hufflepuff to the world of magic school food, he turned his attention back to his own plate. The food here was very good, and had a much better selection to choose from than Salem, but in his opinion it didn't come close to the way muggles prepared it. At least the way his mom prepared it, anyway. Though all boys thought their mom's cooking was unparalleled.
Micha ordered a Caesar Salad, and Whites, trying to make conversation, asked her why it was called that. "A guy named Caesar came up with it," Leon said, cutting up his roast beef as he did, "contrary to popular belief it has nothing to do with Rome. I think...I think the guy who invented it was from California?" He took a bite of his food, and after he chewed and took a sip of his apple cider, he looked over at Micha sitting next to him.
"You know I'm surprised you know about Caesar Salad at all, Micha," Leon said, "do you have any muggle in you? Or have you just had a lot of interactions with muggles?"

Adrian had ordered her food and Micha followed her. Leon gave Adrian encouragement. The blond smiled at him. After she finished the mashed potatoes she moved on to the green beans. Good ole' school food. Adrian had also gotten green beans and water. Amira was glad they were in the same house.
The blond turned to look at the girl sitting next to her. "How does the food taste," she asked. Amira's food tasted good just like it always did. She took a sip of the water in the goblet in front of her.

Adrian smiled as Leon encouraged her. School food was good unlike what she had heard. Amira had asked her how it tasted. "Delicious," she replied also taking a sip of water.
She picked up her chicken and began eating it. It tasted fresh which was kind of a scary thing to think about. I mean, her food appeared in front of her. She had no idea how it was made. Did they cut it up by magic or did they use something else like an Axe.
These thoughts didn't gross her out in the least. It was natural for her. After all, waste not want not.

She didn't have a chance to answer Whites, because at that point Leon jumped in. Her eyes turned momentarily to him, a cool mix of approval, at being correct, and disdain, for daring to answer for her. What was with these boys and their incessant need to speak in her place? It was a bit aggravating, to say the least, but not enough for her to speak up about.
Leon asked her a question, and this time Micha spoke quickly, lest this time Whites somehow know the answer and move in before she could. She should be safe, as it was a personal question, but she did not know Whites enough to put him past the stalker type.
"None," she replied simply, the subject, so blatantly asked, causing her again to glance sidelong from her salad to him. Was that not a question that could, at times, offend? A query of that sort could be considered an insult at some places. Fortunately for Leon, she had never cared much about that sort of thing.
"I am pure-blood." A beat, while she took a delicate sip of milk. "I have just lived in many places and tried many different things." Subject closed. She set down the glass, turned her eternally impassive gaze the Hufflepuffs' way, dark eyes shifting between the two before finally landing on Amira. She would change the conversation before any more questions about her were asked; thus, it was necessary to be somewhat social, at least for the moment.
Man. That was weird. Who the hell named their kid Caesar, and then that kid names a salad after himself? Crazy. Imagine if he invented some sort of sald. Eric's Boots and Shoes Salad. That was just embarassing, and he was sorry he thought of it. The Hufflepuffs socialized between themselves, which was kind of cute. They both seemed kind of... out there and quiet. Then again, that could really explain all of Hufflepuff, stereotype or not.
Pure-blood. He'd figured as much. It only made sense, really. Slytherin, cold, calculated, talented. Pure-blood in everything she did. He was afraid that... what if, through his own actions, it was obvious he was a half-blood too? Dang.
He fought the urge to ask another question that had been bugging him. What was the difference between a familiar and a pet? Aleksei was Micha's familiar? Whites didn't even have an owl, let alone a familiar or cat. Maybe he oughta pick one up at the chinese restaurant.
For now, though, he went back to his food. No one was talking to him, it was all good. It was almost like he only posted because it was his turn and he didn't want to keep the thread waiting.

Amira smiled at Adrian's answer. Just as she was about to ask her another question, Micha asked "Amira, your familiar is a cat too, yes? Familiar? What was a familiar? She hated it when people used words she didn't know. Micha was talking about a cat, she knew that. I have a cat, she thought. Just smile and nod. A smile appeared on her face. It wasn't one of those creepy smiles that screaming Jonas Brother's fans had when they finally got a handshake or something. It was a nice smile.
Her head nodded twice. Even if it wasn't the right answer, well hey, she was a Hufflepuff. It wouldn't matter. They'd expect it. Who knew what went on in a Hufflepuff's head.DERP!

Adrian smiled back at Amira. Everyone was so nice. She liked it here. Her Hufflepuff friend was about to ask another question, but was asked a question instead. A familiar was basically an animal. Amira nodded and smiled weirdly. It was almost as if she had no idea what a familiar was, which, of course, she probably didn't.
The brown haired girl looked at Whites. He seemed to be lonely. Her brown eyes stared at him. She didn't know what to say. The Hufflepuff decided it was best to just eat her food and just stare at him. She had had no sense of responsiveness.
