Oh no! He didn't want to leave Orca behind. He knew there was something weird between Orca and Talon--was it a forbidden love? He blushed at the thought--and that he probably wouldn't want to be around him, he just hadn't thought of that until after he suggested they go see if they could visit. He was so stupid. This was exactly what it was like with everything else, too, he was so unobservant and empty of tact that it was a hassle to deal with anyone because he'd always end up embarassed afterwards and it was just exhausting.
But all of a sudden, Morgan was backing off too. What was next? Was he expected to back off too? Like, 'oh, okay, I guess i"ll uh go sleep in the lake' or whatever one did in these situations where you shared a bed space with someone and then suddenly in an awkward situation that would hinder that sharing, like a messy breakup when you both are on the apartment's lease or when you totally didn't mean to bang your cousin.
However, whatever the case was, he'd be happy to visit Morgan the next day, awkward cousins or not. Wait, was Orca the awkward cousin, or was Morgan? He was too confused now to care. He took the little scrap of parchment, looking down at the old familiar fancy-ass Morgan handwriting on it. She was so much more a Ravenclaw than he was; there was no way that Talon would say no to giving her a job, right? If anyone was qualified to teach it was Morgan, after all, she was totally smart and she'd already proven her ability to handle power as a prefect. To be honest, he'd never known how Morgan hadn't become Head Girl rather than that Ashelle mess.
"I, o..." He blinked. "If you're sure, Morgan. If the um, the opportunity to talk to Talon comes up between now and then, I'll um... do something. Or something. And... don't worry about my teaching schedule." There's a schedule? "But um..."
He felt bad, for some reason, like he was cockblocking her future or something. He wanted to help, he wanted to help an old friend he hadn't seen in forever that was obviously in a tough spot. He'd try and make sure that Morgan was at least comfortable in Drakborough--how he'd manage that, he had no idea--it was the least he could do for his former only friend.
