((First post for Sparky, Orca, or Toby/Schmitt, please.))
Earlier that day, Morgan Pendragon had faced down Harvey Rhodes, the gentleman who was now running Joker's Bar, and establishment that had been the heart of Drakborough as long as Morgan could remember. Morgan was unconvinced of him, advertising a bar to minors seemed more than a little suspect to her. To allay her suspicions, Mister Rhodes had invited her to try the place out herself, which is why she was now here, with her friend Sparky Cobalt.
She'd written three notes, each one basically saying the same thing: that she wanted to go out to dinner with friends, and the time and place of the dinner. Since she didn't know where Tyson worked, she sent his with an owl, and delivered the other two with Mondleid. It was only around the school grounds, so even though he was getting older, it was still nice exercise for him.
She was glad Sparky had been available to walk with her. It hadn't been just the two of them to talk for a long time. Not since he'd graduated, if she was really honest with herself. It was nice he had someone like Tyson in his life. If anyone deserved to find love, it was Sparky. She'd avoided that subject on the walk, though, because she knew Sparky was the shy and reserved type, and would never kiss and tell, as the saying went.
"I feel so bad that I didn't think of this before. It's just, I always thought Joker's was kind of a dive, to be honest. I hope Mister Rhodes was being truthful when he said he'd fixed the place up." When she was a student, the cool place in town had been The Marquesa and The Imp. They'd had live music, and all the kids from school went there, only, Morgan was pretty sure they'd closed down. Joker's was, in Morgan's mind, the kind of place only fit for drunks and criminals.
They were nearly there. Morgan tried to relax. She was going to have fun tonight she promised herself.
