He didn't know why she was still arguing, but he kept his most patient face. As much as they were united over their common enemy, he had little to no interest in her reasons for, well, anything. If she left, she left. Unlike Adolf, he wasn't quite so ready to convict, though that was more out of an inability to really care, than anything else.
He crossed his arms, more casual than defensive, and smiled at her, waiting for her to go. Apparently, she approved of his contact methods. If they had phones, he would have given her his number, and then could have totes texted him or whatever, but, you know, goddamn wizard magic. Or whatever.
That last bit of info she dropped off before she left caught his attention. The lycan's blue-green eyes fixed upon the girl, a different sort of expression flitting over his face. So Streampaw had run away, huh? Left the rest of them with a fucking homicidal church to deal with, and just split for greener pastures.

Just then Ashelle stopped. She looked at the ground, as if staring at it would make things change if she only looked hard enough. Then she did as her family would have told her, as her Mountain Lioness had always tried to convince her to, as she had never done, for fear of loosing her magic or her life.
She turned back.
"Let pretend you believed in me for one moment for a sec, okay?" she said, forcing down the rising panic. "What kind of information would you need or want to make that second last?"

"I've called you a coward and a traitor thus far, never a liar." Adolf responded bluntly. Though, he supposed he had advised King Orca that she couldn't be trusted, yet that was more along the lines of expressing that he had zero confidence that she was a person they could truly depend on if events conspired against them.
And then she came back. What the shit. "I don't get what you're trying to say," Orca replied flatly. "I'm very aware of how dangerous the Church is. We're not stupid." In case she didn't get it, he explained further. "We don't need no fuckin' information, girly." Lycans were all about walking the talk, not sitting around blathering at each other until they all died from boredom.

"I am trying to say, I don't know what to do about the BFC trying to kill everything I love - and me along with it," she added as an afterthought. This wasn't working. She needed to change tactics.
"They say that the enemy of an enemy is a friend. You don't have to like me or even fully trust me. Please believe me when I say I never wanted to make the church my enemy. As much as I wish I could reconcile, I don't think that would end the slaughter of innocents. I'm willing to do what it takes to stop them." Ashelle's blue eyes looked directly into Orca's, daring him to challenge that statement.
"I've made mistakes in the past, it's true, but what's done is done. We can only move forward from here on out. I need help figuring out what to do, and I asked you, because I know you aren't stupid. If lycans can live like Marc or live like Fenrir, seems to me you all have some serious brains going on there." She blinked willing the tears to stop forming, and her eyes obeyed. Adolf likely would bite her head off -literally- if she stared crying now.
"The church will try and make you out to be monsters. They have always played on the fears of people to achieve their goals. You'll need people to stand up for you. People who won't let the church emotionally manipulate them." Couldn't they understand? She had only been trying to help from the beginning.
"If I can gain your trust while we work together, it would be an honor. If not, at least by working together we'll be able to stop the BFC from doing any more damage." If they didn't want to work with her, there were other moves she could make, but this would be by far the easiest route to all their goals.

"If you can prove your conviction through your deeds, then I would accept you as an ally." Adolf said, shooting a sidelong glance at Orca. It was what he would counsel the lord to do, yet ultimately, it was for the king to have final say. He didn't think he could ever trust a traitor. Yet, you didn't need to trust someone to work alongside them. Which meant that all he needed now was for Ashelle to show him whether or not he was mistaken in labeling her as a coward.
The enemy of an enemy is a friend. As though he'd been waiting for something right along those lines, the lycan relaxed his posture and even gave the girl a faint grin. She was staring directly at him, periwinkle blue eyes demanding. He rather liked that, liked the thought of a challenge. Were she another wolf, and were she not a girl, he might of thought about taking her up on that, made this super boring discussion into a no hold's barred men only fight. Like, punching each other and shit. No homo.
Orca tipped his head to one side, thinking. Hmm. "What he said," the lycan lazily proclaimed. He was normally a lot more talkative, but the Professor did enough talking for all three combined. He leveled his gaze toward O'Conner, the seafoam green of his irises changing into something more akin to burnished bronze. "What, exactly, do you plan to do?"

"Oh for crying -" Ashelle contained herself. It didn't matter how many times she had just told them she had no bloody clue what to do next, they obviously were either purposely playing deaf or wanted to know if she'd even thought about a plan. She sighed, thoughts of what she would do next pretending to be a plan, GO!
"I am going to find out why Marc's family was attacked. Not the 'because he's a bad lycan' reason because that's just bullcrap. He's the nicest lycan I have ever met. I'm going to find out the real reason, I think it's a key to untangling this whole mess. Then I am going to find out who made Bismarck head of the BFC, and why. Seems to me if he wasn't the catalysis that started all the changes in policy, maybe the guy who appointed him was. I think if I can figure out why all this started, I can unravel it, right out from under his smug butt."
She took a breath, those were not her plans really, they were her ideas. She didn't think they would work or that she'd be able to even find anyone who could give her the answers she wanted. But if the lycan Lord and his 'princess' wanted an answer to their question that they couldn't stop asking, than that would have to do. If it wasn't enough, well, maybe they should have accepted her first answer of she didn't KNOW what to do!

"Go do something then. When you have results, come back and present them before the Lord of the woods." Was all Adolf had by way of reply. Honestly, he was tired of her rambling on and on about the Church. He wanted to see her actually do something to prove she was actually dedicated to stopping them.
Why on earth was she getting all frustrated now? The lycan narrowed his eyes at her. They were the ones that had every right to be annoyed; how many times had they had to badger her about a plan before she spat one up? Why the hell would you go attempt to recruit an ally without any sort of plan?
"Good, great, fine. Again, what Adolf said." The lycan waved a hand at her in a shooing motion. Burnished yellow eyes stared her down, daring her to do anything else. He had other things to do, thank you very much.

So they had no idea what to do either. Ashelle sighed, well that figured. Ashelle looked more tired than she'd felt for a long time. Bowing to them, she turned to go.
All that talk for nothing, goddess did she hate meetings. Well actually, she did get something out of the whole thing. She still had her magic, what she'd originally risked to meet with them. So she might not have won anything extra but she'd defiantly broke even, and that was something, in this case.
Orca yawned into his hand and watched the girl leave. The lycan glanced over at Adolf once O'Conner was out of sight, and, presumably, hearing. "So, princess." There was no shortage of amusement in the lycan's tone, though it was accompanied by a dryness that suggested he found the whole affair tiring. "Do you know anything about this whole Church business?"
He was more than sure Adolf knew something, going by how knowledgeable he'd seemed during the conversation with the witch, but he'd let the other wolf explain that himself.
