A masked slytherin sat quietly at the side of the feasting hall. Shadonious was uncomfortable being here, but still he had come.
Tonight, Shadow had straightened his mess of hair, for once happy it was different. Upon his face, sat the black eye mask, feathered at the ends in a pearlish colour. Similary on either hand, his gloves also held miniture wings. To complete his atire; shirt, dark tie and trousers. His whole outfit was roughly based of Mercury-messenger of the gods. Just for a change.
His blue eyes flickered across the hall, watching people start to dance as he relaxed - waiting for one special girl.
Walking into the decorated feasting hall, Gwen looked through the silted holes of a green and black mask shaped like a butterfly. She had also stripped all the hair dye from her hair leaving it in it's natural black.
Exhaling Gwen smoothed out her strapless gown that was colored the same as her mask and approached Shadow from behind. "Evening Shadow," she whispered into his ear before sitting down beside him.

Smiling as a shiver pleasantly ran down his spine, Shadow turned to Gwen - kissing her hand lightly. He eyed her black hair, fingering in gently, "Always this colour?"
Rising to his feet, he faced her with a grin - bowing to her with one gloved hand behind his back. "May I have this dance, m'lady of serpents?"
"Of course it is," she smirked as she lightly brushed her lips past his. Running her fingers through his hair, she smiled softly. "And I see that you straightened this wild locks of yours."
"As long as you cut these theatrics," she joked as she took his hand and rose to her feet. "So what are your plans for the new year to come," she asked curiously.

Shadow smirked, as she ran a hand through his hair. "Thought it needed a change."
"Ah, must I?" the teen grinned as he lead her a few paces towards the centre of the room. As he took her other hand in his, he shrugged lightly. "Supose I better actually go to class sometime." he lowered his tone, kissing her gently on the forehead, "But I want to spend most of my time right here, with you."
Gwen laughed a bit when Shadow said that he was going to start going to class. I suppose it's for the best she mused. She took a split second to actually think the same before he kissed her forehead and talked about how he wanted to spend his time there with her. "Same here," she responded softly.
"So are you glad that the trial is over?" she asked with a small grin.

Smiling gently as she laughed, he shot her a look of innocence. He doubted he would actually bother attending, but he needed too - despite missing most of the first few lessons to every subject. He smirked softly, beginning to lead her into a slow dance.
"Hell, It was torture not knowing where you where until the trial... Thanks for trying to help me, you know, back by the lake," he grinned, brushing his lips against hers.
"Oh the thing with your sister?" she asked with a shrug. "It was no problem, and do you have any clue on how tempting it was to kill her where she stood," she sighed looking up at him with a smirk. "But I guess it was best that I didn't," she laughed as she rested her head against him. "
"You know, I'm going to try getting into contact with some people about the rebellion. Maybe get some advice as to how to go about it," Gwen muttered so no one could hear.

"I can imagine. Tohni is a clear supporter of my father, possibly only in Spain for that matter to find myself and Azreallia... If I had been in your shoes, I would have felt the same." he sighed softly, lifting one of his hands to rest on the back of her head whilst the over remained at her waist.
Shadow smiled a little, lowering his voice to a whisper, "It's a good plan, I'm sorry I won't be much help for a while with the gift of the trial. But, I was meaning to ask you about this Ahina women you apparantly hired as a spy?"
"But with your permission, can I kill Tohni?' she asked hopefully. She needed someone to test the killing curse on, so why not someone whom Shadow hates. "You know to rid both you and Azreallia of the burden of having someone try and take you both back to Canada," she added sweetly as she looked to where she hid her wand.
"And don't worry. It's only for a small amount of time," she smirked as she looked up at him. "But as for a ministry spy. I asked the Head of Magical Catastrophes, but she declined my offer. But as for Ahina, I have no clue as to who she is except that she is a blind Auror," she muttered as her eyes narrowed. "Have you told her anything?" she asked curiously.

Smirking softly, he nodded, "You have my permission. Yet, only if she makes another move to find us. I do not want you hurt, it would tear me apart to know I was the reason you were lost."
Shadow hesitated at her next words. Ahina had told him that she knew both of the White sisters well, and that she, as an Auror of the ministry, was working only as a spy for the rebellion. She'd even helped him, telling him where he could find Gwen. Why hadn't she just arrested him where he stood, instead of buying him drinks and treating his as a friend? His grasp on her faultered slightly, as he glanced across the hall towards Reka's cousin. "Ah, crap," he breathed quietly, staring straight ahead.
"Shadow don't worry I could be very resourceful when I need to be," she smirked. Hearing a breathed Ah crap come from his mouth, Gwen looked up and around them in slight paranoia. "Shadow, what's wrong?" she asked in a straight and serious tone. "Is there someone here you're trying to avoid?" she asked curiously. And if it's Aeris, I'll just set him up with the new Asian kid, she planned mentally.
Sure she could just let Shadow go, but it was a lot easier to keep him. Aeris had no clue on how hellish her life was until she met Shadow. She guess that her grudge against Aeris would never go away.

"Nothing, I just realised something. You know that new slytherin is called Ahina too, I-I think I might have told him some stuff," he winced quietly. This is why he didn't trust people, you let one thing slip and it turns out they're not who you think they are.
Shadow bit his lip, looking down at her in an apologetic manner. "I'll just have to hope, Dai won't tell her."
"Well then in that case, we just have to hope he keeps his mouth shut around the Auror," she shrugged casually. "And if I run into him at all tonight, I'll just make the unbreakable vow with him," she muttered. "But let's just forget about that tonight, we can worry about it tomorrow."
"And there is no reason to be sorry. You didn't know," she whispered as she kissed his cheek.

"I shouldn't allow myself to be tricked that easily. If I still had my knife I would have solved my stupidness by now," he sighed softly, as she kissed him, remembering that he had promised her not to self-harm anymore.
Smiling a little more brightly, Shadow spun her in his grasp - beginning to sing quietly to her as they danced. "This year, I promise to protect you."
