The clock struck noon as one student entered the Dueling Hall with poise and grace. Her long black robes, lighter then her school ones and built for movement, altered by her, swept behind her, giving her an airy look. Her long brown hair was braided several times on the top of her head, and ran back into a high pontytail at the back of her head. Her wand was tucked into a pouch in the pocket of the robes, handle barely sticking out. Purpose and determination were in her hazel eyes, and her pale face shone with an eery and very angry light. What had happened earlier with her first shot at Prefect duties, had been a nightmare, and it was time to redeem herself. Roan Aliagh was dressed for a duel, and ready to prove that she was not some weak Prefect.
The person, Muryllis of Ravenclaw, one of her offenders. He had cast a silent spell on her and annoyed the heck out of the Prefect. That was her first encounter fighting magic, it scared her a bit, but she needed to get used to it before this was all over. So she would duel the arrogant little Ravenclaw that had dared to attack her down in the dungeons. Then the ever-so-bright one had tried to erase her memories. Fortunatley the Headmaster had stepped in and ended all of the nonsense, dealing out punishments and listening to sides of the stories. Unfortunatly she had been sent to watch Muryllis in the Hospital Wing, which she had not been happy about in the least.
It was noon, he would be here soon. The 'Puff girl walked to the center of the Dueling Hall and took a few deep breaths like she did when she fought Fenris or Xailyn, calming herself and focusing her mind. Brute force would not work here, wit would, wit and skill. And with a wand, she had skill. Whipping the piece of wood out she took another deep breath and opened her harsh hazel eyes, and they were ablaze with determination like they always were before a fight. The wand moved in a large arc when she cast her spell, a torrent of flame issueing from it, spreading feet before stopping, a wave of hot air rushing at the 'Puff. "Incendio!'
Then she nodded and put a small smile on her face. I still got it. She thought with glee. It had been a while since she had tried her fire spells. They were strong when her emotions ran high, when there was tension or fear in her body, or when she was so deteremined, she could created large arc torrents. Not nearly as much as a Fire Elemental could do, but once she had badly burned a student from neck to ankle because of anger. Muryliss had better watch out, Roan was ready to fight, and she wouldnt take the offense to her lightly.bg
