Azrael knew there would be another attack coming, as Talon seemed to have chosen to conveniently not notice the girls whom had interfered in their duel. As it was, the moment he had dispelled Talon’s jinx, he immediately pointed his wand back to where he knew Talon stood, to deflect the next attack that was certain to be coming. “Protego!” he attempted to shout.
Yet it was apparently too late. Azrael had spent too much time attempting to cast his previous spell, and even as he finished saying the words for his protection spell, it had only barely begun to go off when Talon’s stunning spell struck. The spell, striking Azrael’s wand directly as he had aimed it at Talon, was only slightly weakened by the feeble beginnings of Azrael’s protection spell. As such, with a loud “CRACK!”, Azrael’s wand was blown clear out of his hand to land about a dozen yards away.
At least he had managed to avoid taking the full force of the spell. Still, knowing it would be sheer stupidity to go running after his wand, as it would make him a sitting duck for a dozen or more spells, Azrael simply straightened up, hands out in a sign of surrender as he stepped back into the neutral box.
“As always, it seems,” Azrael called out, in a hostile tone, “Talon always insists on getting in the last spell during a fight, yet the work that brings him to that point is never his own. Honestly, Talon, you can’t even have a one on one duel without outside help?”
