"Oh, I knew exactly what I was doing..."
As the fog-like smoke settled, Lucius grinned to himself... Things were just getting better and better... As the ropes lanced out from the earth, he laughed.
"Petty and foolish again serpent!"
As the ropes bound his legs to the floor, Lucius was letting a change happen... His legs were becoming thicker and hotter, the skin mirroring that of the demon that had once been inside his body... Such was the temperature, the mud around his feet melted and actually evaporated, while the ropes simply disintegrated. Reversing the change, he redied another eight arrows.
"Incendio: Shotblast!"
A spell of his own unique design thanks to his bow, each of the eight arrows would work like a shotgun in flight, scattering dozens of smaller versions around. Granted, it wasn't the most accurate spell, but he didn't NEED it to be. He wanted the mist burned off from the heat and he wanted it done five minutes ago. Letting go of the string, he flicked it back round to it's usual one-arrow-at-a-time position of against the inside of his arm.

Up against the stands, Samael of Abaddon could feel the presence of a familiar human above him... But there was something different about him this time...
"Medium, what are you hiding? Is it perchance a dragon? I haven't laid eyes on so much as a whisper of one in nearly seven centuries..."
the voice was more than auditory it was the voice of a demon and as such Malachy heard it on more than one level. And sense Malachy hadn't even known the Demon was there the sudden shock to his psyche made him almost fall face first down the stands. "What the hell?!" That when Malachy felt it why hadn't he noticed it before. He senses the demon and it was something he had felt before around Luc.
Things began clicking into place in his mind. "Yeah, maybe. When did you get freed of Dante?" He was completely ignoring the fact that the demon could see Bloowing who had now turned his head to face the demon. How do you SEE a whisper? The dragon asked.

While Lucius had been talking, burning off the ropes, and casting his spell. Phugsius had made his way around the boys line of sight. Lucius had fired spells in front of him. Would have worked if he had still been there. Phugsius approached from behind. Granted there had been some tripping involved with the approach. Lucius had assumedly been too distracted with the ropes and blabbering on. Phugsius pushed the end of his wand into the back his opponents neck.
"Petrificus Totalus" The spell Phugsius had cast made it impossible for Lucius to move or speak.
"Expelliarmus" The spell made Lucius's bow fly from his hand and Phugsius looked over at Forgoil to see if the match would be officially concluded.

It would have been a perfect finish for the snake if Lucius was actually incapable of moving or defending himself. Both eyes suddenly changed to orbs of an almost pitch-black stone and fiery wings sprouted from his back, intercepting the dis-arming spell and dissipating as he quite literally forced himself to move, the bow changing to the sword-form.
"Game, set, and draw..."
Part of the teen's face was covered in the volcanic-like appearance of Samael of Abaddon's skin, lending him a semi-frightening look to most people... Of course, this was giving him the colossal resistance to effects like immobilization, not that it was mattering too much, he could bearly move. Kinda sluggish, but still enough to fight...
"I'm willing to call this a draw and over if you are."
The silvery sword blade was mere centimetres from Phugsius' jaw, before the teen lowered it and took three sluggish steps back.
~~~
"How? How indeed... Maybe because I'm ethereal and corporeal... Who knows?"
The demon turned transparent, with the exception of the fathomless black orbs that were his eyes. Swelling in size to more than forty feet, Samael of Abaddon grinned, a line of teeth hovered in mid-air as he did so...
"Only about two weeks, Medium. You can thank that Ravenclaw girl my... Master loves... I would rather not be bound to him or his infernal dagger, but it is better than folding in the void and waiting for the rest of Tiamat to reform so I become a complete being again..."
"I'm willing to call this a draw and over if you are."
Was sort of surprised to see his opponent turn into a demon, but sorta not....
"OF course you are. Fine" He looked over at the professor, "Professor Forgoil, We've agreed to a draw!" He half shouted With this he turned around and stormed off of the dueling field throwing his hands up in the air.
Malachy wasn't exactly sure how to react. Malachy had been trying to figure out away to remove the demon as well. "So seeing as your still here I'm guessing they figured out your name?"
Bloodwing wasn't intimidated. The massive ghost found this demon to be very intriguing. Especially after what he had just said. "Ah, an envoy of Tiamat?" Bloodwing's breed of dragon where considered children of Tiamat. At least according to some super ancient religions. "Haven't heard that name in a while. Though my kind are not quite as faithful to our orgins as we probably should be."
"Enough!" roared Forgoil when he saw the firey blade drawn against Phugius and his own wand came up in warning. The duel had been racy to begin with, but still remained within the conventional parameters, and he would've been content to let it run its course until this happened. Apparently Lucius hadn't been bluffing when he said that he had a demon inside of him and Halifirien was just as stunned as he was livid with the whole situation.
"A draw has been declared, so get that abomination back inside of its bottle or where ever it came from. And if I ever see that thing unsupervised again I swear that it'll be beggin' me ta exercise it from this plane and unta the next," finished the grey-haired man threateningly as he strode away from the scene. Next time he should've just deducted points from both houses rather than give two pyromaniacs a shot at one another. And this Samael of Abbadon, this demon that Lucius possessed: he would have to talk to Talon about this and see if it was within regulations or not.
OOC: Lucius never used Incendio the second time he pulled the sword-form out. he simply held it ready. ~~~
"Yes professor..."
Dissipating the partial transformation, Lucius shrunk his sword back to the size of a dagger and removed the wand from the pommel. Oddly, the silver blade was six inches, yet it gobbled twelve inches of his fourteen-inch wand with no problems...
Pocketing his wand, he held the dagger loosely in his hand as he walked over to the floating orbs that were his demon's eyes.
"Oi! Did I say you could wander off?"
"... You were busy, so I decided to talk to your friend... Master..."
"Less sarcasm out of you next time... Now return to your bonds"
Ascending the steps to the stands, Lucius sat next to Malachy as he returned the dagger to the scabbard on the back of his belt... The demon's eyes and smile were gone, showing it had indeed returned to the dagger.
"Good evening Malachy... I see you've met my slightly unwilling demonic thrall then? Better attitude now than last time you met."
"Wait a minute!" came a shout from nearby, clearly magically amplified so that the entire field could hear it as if it were coming from a loudspeaker. The voice belonged to the Headmaster, Talon Windwaltz, who had been watching the whole affair but stayed away from the group so as not to put them on edge. "You're not seriously going to let that stand, are you Forgoil?"
Talon swung his wand around and said "Locomotor Corpus," and dragged Phugsius unwillingly back to the center of the field where Malachy and Lucius were talking. "That was completely unfair," Talon said, "absolutely completely unfair. I understand, Mr. Infernus, that you have a great deal of hidden power gained from that...Samuel of Aragorn gentleman, but this was a wizard's duel, not a demon's duel."
He stomped his foot, "and as far as I'm concerned, Mr. Charadus here would've won that had we kept it strictly within the confines of magic." He turned his head to look at Forgoil, "Do you not agree?"
Phugsius was suddenly dragged back onto the dueling field and only by one person he would've guessed. Yup, Headmaster Windwaltz had used the same spell to drag him out of the hospital wing. Phugsius wasn't going to argue with what the headmaster was trying to do... but they did agree to a draw, even if it was because the boy didn't feel like dealing with whatever else the little wanker had up his sleeve.
Phugsius watched the sun setting in the distance as it came ever closer to night fall.
"Sir, if I may interject..."
Focusing on Talon, Lucius kept his voice level... He actually wasn't even angry... Just more tired than earlier.
"I came to this duel with the intent to use the powe rI had when I first came here. Back then, I had no control over Samael of Abaddon at all. Back then, I was it the mercy of him, forced to keep my cool everywhere, lest he come out in a rather violent manner."
The teen spread his arms wide while he was talking, more to be seen as actually talking than just trying to argue the facts.
"While yes, even a semi-transformation increases my power and resistances to things, I have actually only drawn on a small measure of that power twice. Once to free myself, and once when caught in the full body bind. Everything else has been all me, casting methods included. Every spell and every defence was me."
He raised his right hand slowly now, voice still as impassive as his hetrochromatic blue and grey eyes... Glinting in Lucius' open hand was a small sliver of steel.
"Until just a few weeks ago, I couldn't touch anything with this hand without setting it on fire unless my hand was covered in a fire-proof glove. Thanks to the efforts of someone I care deeply about, I have my demon under control, at my beck and call, and out of my body. If you want me to fight again without my demon at all, I will oblige. However, my usage of the power I had slight control of this time last year was within the limits I was going to use and stated I would use. I stated at the start of the duel that I would use only the power I came here with."
The teen dropped his hands, his piece said. It was true that he had used Samael's power, but he had said that he would use only the powers he had when he came here... The ability to draw on even a tiny portion of his demon's power and stay in control was an ability he had.
OOC: *Shrug* Its how the cookie crumbled, for this duel. However, I think it speaks volumes that, in the end, Lucius was unable to match Phugs unassisted. Being that anyone but Lucius would laugh their asses off at the punch-out ending of a draw, I think that this situation calls for a rematch, now that the contestants are 'warmed up', so to speak.
"I would like to see a wizard's duel between two gentlemen, is what I'd like to see," Talon said in response. It wasn't quite angry, so much as it was serious. "That's what I came out here hoping to see. You can consider yourself done with your detention. I want to see a completely fair fight between the two of you, using only your wits and spells."
He smacked his wand against his left hand, "So none of this-" at this point, he pointed his left hand outward and shot a pillar of fire from his palm, "and none of this-" and he caused the winds around him to swirl and blow their robes around, "and especially none of this." He pointed his wand away from them and fired a stream of lightning from it, causing a thunder crack to sound around them.
"If you can do that, the winner will get House Points. Understood?"
