Evie too in turn presented the back of her neck, lifiting her flowing mane of black hair from her sholders. Her skin was milky smooth on the back of her neck, a place devoid of the tribal tattoos that covered nearly ever inch of her skin. She nearly anticipated the sizzle and smell of burning fleash.
For whom does the lonely cry out for with such anguish?
Loyal and obeying...that pleases me...that pleases me immensely. But now I wonder, if it was wrong to steal the names of those ancient creatures? Purely by chance I beleive it is why we are similar to them...perhaps us even being biblical But no, from the scientific standpoint, we are simply earth-born creatures who were conceived via the energy released from the death of our "father." It explains our former rapid aging, and our abilities. It also explains the visions we had at birth...and why I know what the God these humans beleive in really is...I suppose these two deserve to know the story...infact, so do Leviathan and Behemoth.
These thoughts passed through Ziz's mind, if only breifly, before he brought his pole arm back in an arch behind him. The head of it shone with a bright red, as he brought it down and sideways faster than the human eye. However, it did not hit the back of the aquatic pair's necks. It passed beneath their flesh and past their spines, before exiting without a mark. That would be the painless part. However, when the brand rose from beneath their skins when summoned, THAT, would hurt.
The silver-haired creature adjusted his glasses, as he took a seat on a nearby stump, and dispelled his weapon. His eyes remained their true pure grey, and the birds of the forest seemed to gather around him. They perched next to him, but not on him, as if gathering around a savior, or a guardian. But then again, those humans prophesized that Ziz would be the leader of all birds, or creatures of the sky. At least THEY understood him all the time.
"Congratulations Kelpie, Evie. You have just been accepted as one of those who will bring an end to civilization as the world knows it. But first, I have decided to tell you, all of you, what we really are, and how we came to be. Behemoth, Leviathan, this will be news to you, so pay attention. We all know that there are seemingly countless realms...however, there is an estimated 3,283,812,246,900 realms give or take a few billion, each with about 9 million galaxies, each its own universe. Only about one hundreth of them can be accessed freely. Of that hundreth, only one world remains unconquered by the race of our "Father", the Varnag Tong. We consume, take over, take control. But the Ancient Ones, the almighty makers of eternity foresaw that, and attempted to keep us from spreading. They twisted all of the planes that were still free, and sent another mighty being to create one world where we would have to take, to be able to access all of the others. But the Ancient Ones placed barriers, many of them, to see that none of our race, save one born here, could reach this planet. But then, about three human years ago, one of the oldest, and strongest of the Varnag Tong broke through the barrier, but was on the verge of death. He was killed by a human, in Norway, but the energy released from him divided into two branches, in a sort of 75 and 25 percent split, which implanted themselves into the wombs of two human women. A few days later, we were born, and aged swiftly before stopping at this age, and never continuing. We had the memories of our "Father", whose name in unpronounceable in this state, but we knew that the key to dispelling the barrier around this realm is near, and once we unlock it, the Varnag Tong shall rule! But, the closest thing to help we have, are our very distant cousins the Nephilim, and any followers. This world's 'God' is nothing now but sick, old, weak, smart-ass being who can do naught but watch. This, is the end...but we must wait patiently, watch, search, for we do not want to destroy the key....and the Society will be in the way."
As soon as Ziz's polearm passed through his neck, Skullwhite's entire body began to throb like a sore tooth. The kelpie ignored it as he listened to Ziz's tale. All the while the pain was getting sharper. As Ziz concluded, the kelpie felt a wave of supreme pain wash over him, forcing him to phase. However, the pain continued even in his third form. In fact, it intensified. He continued to phase from form to form, finding relief only while he was changing. But with each change of form the pain doubled. Finally, he could take no more. He stopped changing. He was in equine form. He opend his mouth to speak, but only the frightened whinny of a dumb horse passed through his lips. He concentrated despite the almost overwhelming pain. He managed to get one word out, "Bridle." He'd forgotten what it felt like when he went against the bridle. It was worse than when he thought he was suffocating. Soon the pain clouded his mind and he began hammering the earth with his hooves, one of them coming dangerously close to Evie. Somebody, help me.... he thought, but was unable to communicate.bg
Leviathan watched as Evie relished in the pain of the mark given to her by Ziz. It was intentional pain, to see that Ziz was in control always put her at ease. Ziz was finished and sat down on a stump. The birds gathered around. It wasn't unusual for the creatures of the sky to want to be in his presence. Same with Leviathan and Behemoth with creatures close to water and land.
Leviathan walked next to him and listened closy had he had oredered her too. She knew some of this information but little. Ziz was still probably sifting some of the info out but it would have to do. SHe spoke to Ziz it was an earnest question with no other motive behind it, "The Nephilim, that was like the one we saw when we arrived correct?". She smiled and went on, "What are we going to do with them, kill slaves, allies, possibly kill them later?"
Ziz almost completely ignored the Kelpie. The pain would pass....eventually. The more magic that bound Skullwhite to slavery to the Society or others, the more it would hurt. So naturally, it was not surprising to see that he was in as much torture as he was. But he focused all of his attention to Levi. He gave a small smile, and nodded.
"Yes, very perceptive. But no, we will not harm them. We are related to all of the vampires and Nephilim of this world simply because of one thing: created by otherworldly causes, and being related to the Varnag Tong...the Nephilim much more distant than others. You see, they know the world, and the land. They also know what we are. And that was my next point...they would never submit themselves to us, but I shall see about possible arrangements for an alliance with them. They give us lodging outside of the school, and we do favors for them...favors they most likely would not be able to do. Simple enough."
Behemoth had watched the events unfold with little comment. Followers would always be useful.. But he was intrigued by the Kelpie, who seemed to be in immense pain.
Of course, this only distracted him from the information that Ziz had bestowed on him. He did not know what to think about it, yet, so he set the information aside for closer analysis later.
"What is wrong, Kelpie?" He said, softly. Of course, he didn't seem to be in any state of communication.
(ooc: I didn't mean to take that long... Got distracted. Sorry.)

Leviathan knelt down and placed her hands on the edge of the stump were Ziz wasn't sitting. She didn't really care for working for others than Ziz and her brother sometimes. She quirked an eyebrow, "What kind of favors?" she asked unsure looking for an answer.
She wasn't going to lower herself for just a distant relative. She was far too prideful. It was in her eyes, that defiance even though she tried to keep it secret. "What is it that the cannot do for themselves?"she went on. She glanced over to her brother, he was tending to the kelpie. That was nice of him.
"Now Levi...you know that there are some things that the Nephilim cannot do themselves, and some things that no creatures, save us, can do. Besides, it is a fair trade...they are family you know." This last phrase was full of mock care and loving. If they both benefitted from an alliance, it would be worth it. There would be no betrayals on either side...lest things get messy.
Ziz's tale was quite amazing, but Evilyn couldn't comment on it as Skullwhite switched from form to form, in obvious agony. She began to get seriously worried about his wellbeing when all he could managed was a frightened sound of a horse. "Bridle" was the word his horse mouth finally forced out. Of course...his bridle. It must be killing him to go against Scorpius. If only I could remeber how to free him of the bond.... She inched closer to the frantic horse, trying to calm him. If she could put her hands on him...she felt sure he would be somewhat soothed by her touch. Unfortunately, she was forced to leap back when one of his hooves nearly contacted with her ribs. She looked at her new leaders...how could they just sit back and chat idly about world domination when Skullwhite was obviously in agony?!? Only the one who tackled her, Behemoth, paid any heed to the display before him. "It's his bridle" she explained to him with anxiety in her voice. "By taking him into your service he is going against out human master, Scorpius." She once more tried to get closer to the Kelpie, but again was kicked away.
The kelpie's mind cleared for a second as he realized that it was Evie his hooves were nearly smashing. He had to stop this pain, but how? Ananda's bridle had been replaced by Scorpius's. Might not either Behemoth or Evilyn bridle him instead? No, Evilyn had better not, Scorpius might consider that treachery. He looked behemoth squarely in the eye as the pain racked his body. "Bri- me." he said, forcing the words.bg
Ziz then turned his attention to the Kelpie, and listened to Evie. "Oh, I know. I just like to watch creatures squirm. But if you really want his pain to end NOW rather than later, I shall. Though honestly, pain builds character." He had an uncaring tone, as he stood, and dispersed the birds that had formed around him. At the same time, he summoned forth his polearm, and held it infront of him.
Ziz then proceeded to spin the staff around him rapidly, before slamming it down upon the Kelpie as he had with the river to widen it. A flash of light shot forward from the kelpie, who woiuld go through one last spasm of agony, before being freed. Those humans and their Vows. It is so cute when they attempt to hold the powers of the Gods for themselves.
Skullwhite endured one more surge of pain, then stangely, the bridle that bound him disintigrated into the shadows of which it had been formed. He was free. He took all of it in, amazed, and morphed into human form. "I'm free! That's never happened before, unless the one who bound me died." He was so jubilant about his release, he let out a loud whoop. He kneeled before Ziz. "Thank you, thank you. I'd follow you to the end of the Earth, which is coincedently where you're taking me." His malicious grin had reappeared, making his now-gaunt face appear even more menacing.bg
"Free yet bound dear Skullwhite. When you get a chance, look at the back of your neck. Only we three, and other bound by the same seal shall see it there." When the kelpie DID look, he would see the circle, in deepest black. Wrapping around the seal was the massive serpent. Taking the whole of the circle, was the beast of the land, and spanning behind it, was the massive eight wings of Ziz. Very interesting from the artistic perspective, though almost untraceable via the human hand due to its complexity and intricacy.
Skullwhite...was free? Evilyn was amazed by the power which Ziz weilded to release the kelpie from his bond without bridling Skullwhite himself. She wondered what this occurace would mean for her and Skullwhite. Would Scorpius be angered and come after them both? The answer was, of course. He would be, with lack of better wording, super-pissed when he discovered that not only had he been betrayed by his only two immortal waterbeings, but also that they had joined his competition.
"Free yet bound dear Skullwhite. When you get a chance, look at the back of your neck. Only we three, and other bound by the same seal shall see it there." Evilyn felt the back of her own neck, the raised scar-tissue of the brand that only these five (for the moment) could see or feel. The design was indeed complicated, her fingers traced the outline, her eyes focused elsewhere. She self-conciously covered the mark with her long black hair, although she knew no one other then those standing near the river now would be able to see it. Guilty concience perhaps.
For whom does the lonely cry out for with such anguish?
Twas a memorable moment, the silence that followed Skullwhite's liberation, and the branding of the followers. It was a moment of power and glory. It marked the beginnng of things to come. A small step, but an important one. Once more dispelling his weapon, Ziz glanced at his 'brethren', and his followers, savoring the moment. Another one of his rare smiles appeared, as the light bounced off of his glasses, and an almost joyous expression came onto his face.
"Well then, now that business is concluded, it is a lovely day, one that should not be spent with more idle chitchat. The river is deep and flowing, the winds of destiny are blowing, so I say enjoy this bit of nature while it lasts....I think I shall preserve it actually. So, as three of you are creatures of the water, savor it. Behemoth, do as you will....I shall take my leave........I need to see to some things with our relatives...."
Those were Ziz's departing words, before he took a few steps away from the group, and crouched low to the ground. In a very breif millisecond, it looked as if eight black wings appeared on his back, and the next second, he was gone, leaving black feathers in his place before disappearing like before. A second rush of wind came, and one could see a minor shockwave in the ground where the creature had just been. The Bird of Destruction.
