There were no immediate effects, only implications; the binding of an unstable Shade meant only that the being would safely be able to 'express' itself.
But to what degree? Surely, Talon Windwaltz was a fairly powerful individual; well, without a doubt, he was. Unseen 'flexed', testing the integrity of his new, 'hand-made' barrier; it held, and the Headmaster hadn't fainted. Excellent.
The red lights floating all around the crypt turned violet, and the Shade took on a serious tone. "Talon, I need you to take cover nearby, preferably within the crypt, and protect Roan. The structure was made by wizarding folk, so it will hold; you must use protection charms to keep yourselves safe."
Several more lights appeared, shifting from red to violet, as the being uncovered the rest of the anchoring points. They seemed to link together, forming a network of constellations in the room.
"The bridging ceremony will be violent. I fear you may be dangerously fatigued by the end, what with sustaining both my barrier and your own."
"Then again, I have not been human in over a year; I may likely be underestimating you. Now, then, go!"
The last of the violet lights linked together, and a powerful force seemed to slam air within the crypt into motion. Unseen had no need to strain against the wind, but he could imagine that, as it picked up, it would do more than ruffle the fleshlings' hair (and fur).

Talon's heart raced as he imagined the danger about to befall himself and Roan in attempting to bridge Unknown's hidden world with their own. The Unseen Muryllis informed him that protection charms would be necessary to protect him and the she-wolf from the reflux of the ceremony, though it would result in severe exhaustion on the part of the wizard due to sustaining both Muryllis's power and his own.
But when it came to Talon, there was another magic that he happened to possess, one that was able to break down even Syrus's shell made from Nephilim blood. And this power he wouldn't have to use alone. The Headmaster's sapphire eyes glanced over at the she-wolf. "I can't risk that," he muttered to himself, "I have to have at least some strength in me in case the Unknown One decides he doesn't want to let them go without a fight."
The Headmaster spoke directly to Roan, "Roan, I'm going to use Elementalism to create a shield. With your help, and I know the intensity of your own flame, we should be able to resist this with little damage...are you in?"
Roan watched and waited, holding her breath and going over the possibilities in her mind. She didn’t realize that since Dovie was gone then Unseen was going to lose his power source. And then if he did that he would be gone. And Muryllis would really be gone then and it wouldn’t matter what anyone did. As they discussed what was going on the woman allowed herself to sink back into her human form with a creaking of bones. It didn’t take long before Roan was brushing herself off and regarding the two of them with desperate eyes. She loved this creature for all he was and if Talon refused then she would have a hell of a time finding someone to hold him to this world.
But he accepted the offer of Muryllis and Roan found herself letting go of a breath that she didn’t know she was holding. Talon was bound to his school and now Muryllis bound to him. The Headmaster was prone to some flightiness but she hoped he would stay nearby enough that she could keep the one she loved around.
It was then that her sensitive eyes were really paying attention to the points of light in the room. They shined vividly, almost too sharply in her vision much like Unseen did when he was glowing blue. Some serious magic was about to go down here. Unseen was recommending that Talon put up a shield to protect them and Roan felt inadequate again. When she had been able to do magic she could have shielded herself against a blow.
But then Talon told her something that made her eyes sparkle with embers. He wanted to use elementalism to create the shield they needed. “Of course, just get us out of this alive so we can get Felix and Willow out of this alive. My fire is strong enough, probably much more than needed.” He knew how intense her flames were and he would probably be able to tap them if he wanted to really. Part of her fire was his fire that he had given her upon her elemental birth so to speak. The lycaness dared a concerned and yet relieved glance at the Shade before moving closer to Talon.
“Whatever you need to do Professor, let’s do it fast.”
If this is to end in fire Then we shall all burn together Watch the flames climb high into the night

"Very well," Talon said, and lifted his wand into a defensive position and began to call forth flames from deep within him. The powerful sun shining deep within his heart burned forth and into tangible form through the power of his elementalism and his magic wand.
As the flames erupted, the Headmaster called out commands to the fire to form a wall between the Shade and himself and the other Elementalist. It solidified into a blazing shield, and Talon called out, "now, Roan, add your own fire to it! Muryllis, bridge the worlds!"
Talon's command almost went unheard as the wind grew to an ear-piercing howl. The Shade's glowing blue eyes turned to slits, and the gemstone at his core began pulsing brightly, rivaling the flashing lights of the rift and the burning flames of the two Elementalists. His consciousness trailed out in tendrils, connecting with each anchoring point as he funneled his mind into the realm of the arcane.
Perhaps it would have been better if he had warned his companions about the light, not the violent magic; the power he was channeling through himself put out energy that rivaled the ceremony that killed him, burning shadows into the very walls around them. The violet points that had been randomly dispersed throughout the room started to move, aligning like some science fiction version of a connect-the-dots puzzle. Within minutes, they had positioned themselves in the shape of a rectangle.
This was the doorway into the Unknown One's realm. The path to Muryllis' greatest foe lay before him, and he had only to smash the door open.
There was a pulse of light, followed by a pounding shift in the wind current. Then another, then another. The process required such violent measures because Unseen was not the original creator of the gateway; locating the anchoring points was easy enough, but finding the proper alignment and then forcing it open (a sort of magical bypass to an arcane password) required all his effort; the Dark Lord beyond the doorway had not made it easy.
But it could be done. And then, in a calm so sudden it would knock the Headmaster and lycaness flat, the event was over.
Before them stood a pale white archway, though they could not see inside it. "By making us blind to what lay across the bridge, I have hopefully made the enemy blind to our presence; if the Unknown One is indeed preoccupied with his prisoners, our arrival will come as a surprise."
"Nevertheless, I want the two of you in and out as quickly as possible. The three of us charging in may startle him, but do not forget that this being's power is beyond even my comprehension. I will handle him myself."
With that, he reached out his arms to help the two up; this time, these were the arms of Muryllis. He had hidden away his unearthly form in favor of an illusion of his former self; something less disconcerting, as Unknown's victims may have already been sufficiently flustered.
"Are you ready?"

The power that Unseen unveiled in his attempt to 'hack' the barrier that the Unknown One had created to shield his world made Talon regret not using the power of air to defend himself instead. Clearly the whipping winds were the most affected by the sheer magic energy being used.
Talon felt himself begin to weaken, as if he were running on a treadmill set to a ridiculous speed and wasn't able to fall over and stop. Still, he held the flaming shield, and as he felt the energy drain from his body and made him almost fall over, the force of it all ending did. The shield vanished as the doorway lay before them in glory.
He held out his hand to the humanoid illusion that the Unseen Muryllis had made that resembled his former self. Talon reached out and felt it solid, but understood deep down that it was his own magic that made it this way. He essentially lifted himself up, and stared forward into the gate...not seeing what was on the other side. He turned his head to the illusion.
