Ashelle had been busy, very busy. She had been so busy in fact that she hadn't noticed how warm the breeze was getting nor how fellow Gryffindors were looking toward the silent Quidditch Pitch longingly. However when April came and went with no Quidditch practices being called, something competitive in Ashelle whispered to her that something was up. She made some random inquiries and found the Gryffindor Quidditch Captain - or rather she didn't find him. It dawned on her that this made her responsible for Gryffindor Quidditch practices - or lack thereof. Putting almost everything aside, she took a week to study strategies of all the positions, and attempted to familiarize herself with all the fouls - ending up only committing the common ones to memory due to their being seven hundred in all. Once she had a good idea of what she was looking for she put up a notice a week ahead of time and got her broom ready for the coming season.
At last the day came. Ashelle was ready, more so than in any official game before hand. She ate a light lunch, got dressed in her Quidditch uniform, got her broom and a few abandoned players booms from the broom shed and walked with determination to the pitch. She wasn't sure anyone would show up, but she was determined to stick it out till dinnertime if she had to.
Raiku was curious about her Mistress's activities and had followed Ashelle around all day, including to the Pitch. She sat down and looked oddly at Ashelle.
'Don't we have homework to do?' she seemed to be saying.
"Quidditch may not seem to be important to you or I, Raiku, but some people take it very seriously. I have a responsibility to those people as their Stand-in Captain. I can't just ignore the whole season." Raiku seemed to understand - or she pretended to at least. She laid down in the ground to wait with Ashelle for the potential players.
