Roan had thought she would have been safe, had she just kept herself in a sleep, nobody could have touched her there. In there, she was free from this pain and all this confusion, the darkness and the despair, and the death that was sure to await her at this madman's hand. But that wasnt enough for Syrus, he had to be cruel and sadistic to a girl that had really done nothing but challenge him for what he did to an innocent creature, and then demand her release from this hell that she had seemed to land herself in. He was a lunatic, and that was putting it lightly, for not letting the girl sleep and remain in her mind, he would get nothing more of her really. But that wasnt enough, and Roan would wonder what would ever be enough for him later on, why he had to go through with this torture and insanity. She was innocent in this ploy, and yet she had to suffer.
When he commanded her to awaken, she did, although grudingly. Syrus would learn though soon, that Roan would become perceptive, and how long his power to compel her actions such as this would last, would depend on how quick she caught on. The Hufflepuff was stubborn and defiant, and she wouldnt take commands such as these for long. But for now, she yielded and her hazel eyes fluttered open with a groan. Her vision was hazy by tears and she could barely see anything around her, but it all came flooding back in one harsh moment when the girl let out a pained gasp. The burning had stopped on her hand, but up to her elbow, she felt head and excrutiating pain, she cradled that arm against her chest, wondering what the heck he had done to it. But that pain was the least of her worries, and would be even less later.
The pain in her body was the worst, and it was from the toxins that he had breathed in with another of his sadistic 'kisses', just like when he had bitten her tongue off. There was severe pain down in her abdomen, a serious burning and tensing of the muscles, and she was cringing and shuddering where she was laying, pressing her free hand to the pained spot. Everything was either in severe pain or just felt too weak and tired to move and use. Syrus had done overkill in disabling her, he would get no more defiance from her until the girl had gotten the chance to rest both body and mind, but she had a horrible sense of vengeance and justice, and when she recovered from all of this, he would be the one on the top of the list for it. She wanted to give up, fall back into a sleep and just forget it. Or Roan wanted to die and end it all as well, and that thought passed her mind several times.
But that wasnt it, Syrus wasnt done. The Prefect looked up at him with such fire in her eyes, but it was also mixed with fear and pain, she could barely make out his form, but she did see that finger point at her, and felt its results. Everything, including her eyes and her tongue and her nose, the small things nobody would think off, erupted in pain. It was like thousands upon thousands of tiny needles were stabbing every single millimeter of her body. Roan wanted to hold in her voice, she bit down on her lip harder so more blood ran into her throat, but that didnt work, and she was forced to just let it out, to show her weakness. The girl didnt care at that point anymore, there was just the pain and the need to get rid of it. The Hufflepuff let herself scream.
It was harsh and loud and accompanied by tears, and seemed to come from her very heart itself. She screamed that way once before crying out and whimpering afterwards, when the spell's duration was over. She was sobbing and crying as everything was sore and she swore she could still feel some of the pain. Roan was beyond defiance, and she was beyond fighting back. Fenris had never treated her like this, or Xailyn, or Mai. They had all stopped. Syrus kept going. She closed her hazel eyes and let her head fall back against the stone now that was covered in blood. Her breathing was heavy between sobs and whimpers, and it was ragged, because the girl was having immense difficulty managing it at that moment.
"Why? Why is this happening to me...I didnt do anything, I just want to be let go..." She was saying pathetically between sobs and breaths, barely able to think due to the pounding in her head. Roan was trying to see the faces of her friends and the people she liked back in Firefox, but the only image she could bring to mind was Syrus's looming face. "Just end it, make it stop, please just make it stop. I cant do this anymore..." She was saying quietly, not knowing who she was talking to, but she was pleading to make it all end, make the pain stop.
