It had been his obsession with elements that had brought him here. Without knowing, he shared a common goal with one of the students of Firefox University, which would be setback on top of another set back he didn't know about.
But the immediate thing on his mind was the strange boy. Yamaroshi was still convinced that the boy was simply playing a game, and not actually trying to hang himself. Now walking toward the boy to make sure he was okay after his tumble, Yamaroshi caught site of the other group in the library, including the purple haired witch who lead the students into Fenrir's wood.
His mood dimmed immediately, and he suddenly felt uninterested in learning his next element. He would rather come back later, but could not tell Talon so.
Yamaroshi was about to ask the strange student if he was okay after his fall, but the purple haired witch began speaking to the kid first, so Yamaroshi casually began looking around the library, trying to avoid looking in the general direction of the purple haired witch.

Talon watched in worry as the boy with the toaster - the new Head Boy, of all people - tumbled over the bookshelf, taking it with him, onto someone on the other side. Clearly no one was paying attention to the fallen man underneath the toppled collection of books, so the Headmaster chose not to either. Then again, it is unlikely he ever saw him in the first place from where he was standing.
Purple robes trailing behind him the Wizard hurriedly rushed forward to check on Sparky's condition. It was only once he was at his side that he recognized a familiar voice asking the Head Boy exactly what he had asked him earlier. It was obvious from this uncanny resemblance in authority that the voice belonged to none other than Sylph O'Dell. "Sylph!" Talon said, now bent down at Sparky's side. His eyes jolted from the purple haired Deputy to the others in the room - James Mustang, a warrior student who had made himself known in the Shadow War, and Ashelle Rainier, a new Prefect.
"Why are so many people in the restricted section?" He offhandedly grabbed Sparky by the back of his robes and lifted him up as Talon stood up, "Has something happened?"

"Headmaster!" said Ashelle, sounding a bit more frightened than she wished to. "One of the Nephilim stole Firefox's copy of the Book of Fire! " Ashelle pouted angrily and brushed herself off to hide the fact she was trembling. "Oh, why do they plague me so?! All I want is to be a Fire Elementalist and a Animagus . . . will they end up killing Professora Birchheel also? Honestly, this whole business is maddening."
Ashelle then looked to Headmaster Windwaltz, wondering if he'd be angry or sad, and what he'd do. She remembered when she'd started here at Firefox that he'd been a Lighting Mage, and according to Sylph to become one one would have to master the Fire Element along with the Wind Element. Though James Mustang had offered to teach her, she was sort of wary of him> He always seemed to be popping out of the woodwork just as things got hairy. Could he possibly be a spy for someone? Ashelle didn't know and she didn't wish to find out.
"Thank you Mr. Mustang, but I am not all that sure of you. I really do appreciate it, though."
Suddenly the young lady had a rash idea. She knew it was not an appropriate time to ask, but she felt the sooner she asked the better. She might not see her reclusive Headmaster for months after this! "Headmaster, if we are unable to recover one of the three copies of the Book of Fire, please will you teach me the way of the Fire Mage? I promise I will dedicate myself wholeheartedly to it!" and she bowed deeply to Talon.
"Trying what?" Sylph blinked, frowning slightly, unsure whether the newly appointed head boy was joking it not. It was always so hard to tell with Sparky. If he was telling the truth, Sylph had to do something about it, that was for certain; she couldn't have her students trying to commit suicide, could she? Still frowning down at the boy, she waved her wand silently, thus releasing the toaster cord from around the Ravenclaw's neck. "I think you'd better go spend some time with the good Doctor," she continued, not quite masking the note of concern in her voice. "He'll be able to - Headmaster?" For Talon had just arrived on the scene, crouching at the head boy's side.
"There are this many people in the restricted section because - " she stared, before once more finding herself cut off, this time by the girl bouncing on the balls of her feet by the deputy headmistress' side. Sylph sighed mutely and rolled her eyes a little, but let the girl explain the situation. One day people will listen to me, she thought to herself wryly. Maybe.
"Tiberius, again," Sylph said, her voice low and stern, once Ashelle's dramatic musings had come to a close, her calm words in utter contrast to the younger Gryffindor's. "Came for Sagittarius, apparently." That dark frown flitted over her face once more, a quizzical expression joining it. Once again, however, Ashelle was talking, and Sylph watched her, amused.
Headmaster... please will you teach me the way of the Fire Mage?
"Fickle, aren't ya?" Sylph snorted quietly, dry humor lacing her tones, but there was no real unkindness there. Once done, she returned her gaze to the headmaster. "Talon, have you been in the library all this time? How on earth did you not hear the racket he made?"

Though initially he had nothing to do with the conversation going on behind him, Yamaroshi was forced to listen as he heard somebody saying ...stole Firefox's copy of the Book of Fire! His facial expression went suddenly blank and he turned around to listen.
Tiberius again.
"Tiberius"? He would remember that name, and look for this...nephilim, whatever that was. Not knowing anything about this nephilim, Yamaroshi was already confident that he could get the book back if he could find him. Yamaroshi would need to talk to Lord Azrael, who had offered to help increase the boy's elemental powers.
The boy was just about to turn around to leave when he realized a bit more information about this Tiberius character might be helpful. He held his ground, waiting for a chance to speak with Talon.

It was as if someone decided to run over the Headmaster with a truck. He felt his gut lurch sickeningly at the words that were being said by both student and teacher. His mind was overcome with too many thoughts and questions until they finally took verbal form in "Copy of the Book of Fire?" Talon wasn't entirely sure what she meant, but he was not as dense as he usually was when it came to three of the Library's most hidden books - he had a pretty good idea. Sagittarius. And no sooner had he thought this then Sylph confirmed his dark realizations.
"They know," Talon whispered, trying not to sound worried and failing. "They know! And with that wicked race...well I shouldn't say wicked, there is Orifiel...with that powerful race...and those books...oh I should never have kept them here..."
From the moment the theft was revealed he completely ignored whatever Ashelle and Sylph had said or asked. "But how do they know?" The Headmaster said, his voice lingering on almost frantic. These words were followed by several seconds where Talon seemed lost in thought, until finally they dissolved into a sudden moment of epiphany. Without further word he quickly moved past the group and ran down the halls of books and documents, sliding his hand down the spines of many dangerous tomes of magic. He only hoped Shane had respected his wish to keep what he was looking for where it was...
And with a sigh of relief he saw that it was in fact untouched and in place. Talon pulled from one of the tall bookcases a completely inconspicuous book that was about the same size as Sagittarius except bound in blackened green leather with a withered gold-colored symbol of a bull's head on the cover. Keeping it tucked under his arm, he returned to the group. "It seems if they do know, they don't know enough."
His eyes focused upon Yamaroshi, who was now focusing on the conversation more than he since Sparky had fallen off the bookshelf. "Hey Yama," he said loudly, "Think fast." Talon pulled the book out from under his arm and threw it to the Earth Mage.

Yamaroshi could tell that the loss of this book was not a good thing. These 'nephilim' were apparently quite dangerous. The boy's hopes of recovering the lost book sank. Of course, he would still talk to Lord Azrael about the matter. He could also ask Talon for help learning fire magic if that's what it came down to, though not being able to study on his own meant that he could only learn fire magic when Talon was available to teach it to him.
But his hopes were lifted as Talon pulled a book off of the shelf and tossed it to him. Yamaroshi caught the book with both hands and stared at it. He felt something from this book. Somehow, it drew his entire mind to focus on the cover. Automatically, he lifted the cover to take a look at the first page.

As the Earth Mage opened the front cover of the book, a curious sight was there to behold. The pages of the tome were not written in any language, but seemed at first to be a collection of strange symbols and dead languages. Most prominent of these were enormous zig-zag marks across the pages and bold ink strokes of sumi-e that ran either between or around them. Little words in Latin were written in an extremely tiny font somewhere upon the zig-zags.
Without any further study, this would appear to be mindless gibberish written in strange code or otherwise. What could Talon possibly mean by throwing Yamaroshi this? What kind of 'strange power' did it hold? This was answered within seconds. An enormous blast of visible green light rose from the book, consuming Yamaroshi and drawing his eyes towards the pages, revealing all there was to see.
The zig-zags, or so they seemed before, were enormous mountains from an aerial view, as if Yamaroshi was an Eagle flying across the peaks. The sumi-e that ran between and around were not lines of ink but actually crags deep into the Earth, going miles down before reaching rock bottom. The ancient words written in alphabet were actually animals running across the mountain tops, living their lives as normal. All this within...a book?
No. As the green light faded Yamaroshi found himself standing, still book in hand, [though the pages were empty and the light had vanished] on one of the mountains, all by himself. It was a lonely, cold, place, but there appeared to be no wind bringing chill. Air, but not wind. There was no ice on the mountain tops either, and there was no sound of rushing water from the crags.
Just rock and dirt.
Then, suddenly, from the top of a mountain came an enormous CRASH! The ground beneath Yamaroshi started to shake as the animals - enormous Aurochs, ancient and gargantuan bulls - began to run down the slope of the mountain fear, attempting to escape from an avalanche of boulders coming down behind them. If Yamaroshi did not act, he also would be flattened, if not by the oxen, then by the rocks behind them.

This was strange. At first, Yamaroshi thought these first two pages were as they appeared; gibberish. After examining them very briefly, he placed his finger on the edge of the second page, about to flip it before the light appeared. The page now resemble a muggle Television documentary, minus the British commentary about how tranquil and beautiful nature is.
He looked up to ask Talon about it, but he noticed Talon was no longer there. Nor were any of the other people in the library, or the library itself. It seemed as if he was inside the book, but he was still holding it. He looked back down and realized the nature documentary was not there anymore.
Yamaroshi soon realized that this documentary was about how dramatically over sized bulls react to landslides. For some reason, the fact that he was in a muggle's documentary made him forget he could use magic. The bulls were nearly upon him before he remembered his wand, which he drew, pointed at the earth and erected two walls of rock, perpendicular to each other, creating a triangular wall which the bulls would be forced to run around. Once he was certain the bulls had passed, he quickly darted out of his protective triangle and began pointing his wand at several boulders that might hit him. Each boulder shattered into pebbles following the incantation Quasso.
Yamaroshi lowered his wand, struggling for breath. It wasn't often he used his earth magic to control rock. All of the spells he used in the shadow war and in the hunt against Fenrir used soil, not rock. Still, he controlled the element of earth, and it could scarcely be used against him.
He found himself in the library again, though his wand was no longer drawn. He was still holding the book, but now he was staring at the page as it was before the flash of light. Looking back up at Talon, Yamaroshi simply said, "Wow."

Ashelle had watched the strange young man become entranced by the book. She wondered what was going on till he snapped out of it with a 'wow". Then it dawned on her. That's why they needed the book . . . it wasn't a tutorial but more of a magical aid! Now Ashelle understood, she should practice on her own, and not wait for a Teacher -be they Sylph or Headmaster Windwaltz- to find any old book. If she didn't practice now, she wouldn't be ready for the book's help anyway.
"I-I . . . I am sorry Sylph. I didn't realize what the book actually was. I haven't been practicing on my own, so even if we had the Book of Fire I wouldn't have been ready for it anyway. And I am sorry that I asked the Headmaster to replace you as my teacher . . . I didn't realize that one really treads this path by ones self - that there isn't any real lessons or exercises one can actually do.
Ashelle was ashamed of herself for some reason. She had been told and had witnessed time and again that real magic doesn't come from a book anyway . . . how long would it be till that lesson stuck in her head?
Sylph had only vaguely known what happened when you opened one of the zodiac books before now. She had known that all knowledge was not written, but she had not envisioned the dancing lines of light, the eruption of all the element had to offer. Peridot eyes flashed with fascination as Yama opened and stared down at the book, realising that despite her highly practiced use of air magic - that which she had been introduced to by Talon himself - she knew nothing of her element, and nor would she until she found one of the relevant zodiac.
Her hopes of doing just this, though, were slim to none. Vaguely she recalled learning that most of the twelve were lost, including all three of air. It was a bitter thought, knowing that others might learn all and she not, but if she looked hard enough, asked Talon for all his expertise in the area, it might be possible to lay her hands on one of them. She frowned slightly, dark brows knitted together, and sighed. Finally, folding her arms and rolling her eyes in a simultaneously defeated and knowing gesture, she turned to the headmaster.
"Go on then," she stated flatly, her voice dry. "Explain this to us. Tell us of the books. Impart your knowledge. And, uh, anything else I missed."

Everyone was distracted.
Good.
Glancing about once or twice, he quietly hugged his toaster closer to himself, cord resting about his neck in an oddly reassuring way. Perhaps he'd be able to put the cord back together, but he doubted the toaster would work anymore. Then again, since there were no oulets to plug his beloved toaster into... He supposed it didn't matter whether or not his toaster worked or not. Who knew, perhaps the cord being unattached would come in handy some day. Besides, he could get perfectly good toast from the Feasting Hall; it was just slightly sad not to get to sit next to the toast as it cooked.
He sighed. Not getting to watch toast cook was the least of his problems. His mind was still cloudy with this whole Teagan business going on, that and the fact that he felt he was failing life itself, and now, no one was going to help him hang himself. AND his toaster was broken. Sighing lightly to himself, Sparky took a small step backwards, then another, and another. Glancing about once more, Sparky turned and proceeded to 'make a break for it'. Well, actually, he wasn't running, just simply shuffling along a bit faster than usual. Perhaps he'd return to the library later?
Hopefully some insane librarian wouldn't hop out of some hidden bookshelf and assault him for tipping over a bookshelf, probably damaging at least eight books in the process, if not more.
Either way, he was getting out of there, toaster in hand.
