The hot-shot sitting farther away said that he (not they) was there to look at stars. Then, he inquired as to why a "beauty" like herself was out there alone, pulled out a black rose, and gave his name. He was quite the character, huh?
And he called Teagan a "beauty."
Her slender hands adjusted their grip on the broom.
She had no desire to hit him, but she was not used to being called such a thing. How was she a beauty? Were her skills at unattractiveness diminishing? This guy, she was sure, had spent way too much time out in the cold. Of course, he probably could not see her all that well, either. Sure, she did not have any exactly "ugly" characteristics, but she did not try to be pretty. In fact, her hair was rough, though unfathomably straight. Normally, her eye color frightened people like Silvain away, and unfriendliness kept them there. Some of them might even have stayed away because they knew she was the head girl, a person that could possibly cause them trouble. Then again, there was the chance that they had seen her shove Cobalt into a table... Nah. She was probably just scary. Cobalt had probably complemented her at some point or another, and Morgan had done so when she got Teagan to put on a dress (for a limited time).
Her eyes watched the two on the roof carefully, and her ears twitched, pushing away numbness.
Toshiya Ahina looked like one of the newer Slytherin students. As for stargazing, he did have a compass and a small telescope with him. Weird hobby. Maybe he had yet to have astronomy class.
The black flower was.... unique, to say the least. A black rose and stargazing. Was this guy a romantic or what?
"I'm Teagan," she answered softly, floating at a safe distance. She did not offer her last name, but none of the people she spoke with ever seemed to mind. Monolayre was a disgraceful name as far as she was concerned. It was known for particularly violent purebloods. She was their one and only living half-blood, and she liked them about as much as they liked her: not at all. She never offered her last name to people.
The Monolayre tightened her dry, full lips as she calmly watched the boys. This was interesting, especially since at least one of them was not afraid of her sudden appearance.
This was a curious encounter indeed.
