You Can't Spell Slaughter without Laughter

Ammaterasu dashed up the steps. His stomach churned with each flight of steps he went up. It was only a matter of time before he reached the top.

Ammaterasu scanned the area relentlessly. A flash of light caught his attention and his head snapped in that direction.

West. Gotta remember to tell Ryo and Ratatosk. He thought.

He focused on the area of the flash anf felt his heart sink as he saw the familiar blood red eyes of someone he knew all to well.

N..NO! No! Impossible! No! Zetta...he...couldn't have. Zetta...you. You're the one stopping the sun. What do you plan on doing?Ammaterasu screamed in his head being unable to find his words.

He turned and darted back down the steps. To Ryo and Ratatosk.

Zetta laughed darkly when he saw the shocked look on his face. He knew that Ammaterasu feared that what didn't happen to Zeyro two years ago was going to happen sooner or later. Zetta like sooner better. He needed a companion and Zeyro was perfect for him.

"I have a feeling that I'll be seeing you soon brother. And you as well little Zeyro. I will definitly be enjoying our reunion." Zetta frowned. "But I don't think Ammaterasu nor the boy you claim to love will enjoy it as much as I do. Ah...Ce La Vie is it not Zeyro? Moi petite amie?"

[Ryoko Kanagawa]

Ryo's mind went blank. What the hell was he doing back at Ravenwood Tower? And Ratatosk was still in the school? He hadn't talked to her in months, he was beginning to think she dropped out. The odd thing was she seemed unaware of the time lapse. The boy suddenly remembered that the sun had been stopped and figured maybe that was the reason for time being unaffected. For all he knew perhaps he haden't seen them because they had gotten stuck there.

Ryo mentally laughed. His idea sounded like something out of a sci-fi novel and he figured it really wasn't important. Getting the sun moving was what mattered. He finally focused his thoughts back towards the girl.

Ryo hugged her back and kissed her, "Skidaiyo Ratatosk..."

He had surprised even himself. It had been months and yet when they locked eyes he felt like he had never left. He felt so comforable in her warmth. He wanted nothing more than to stay there forever.

You'll get your wish if you don't get to the top of the tower. Some part of his mind thought darkly.

"Ratatosk, Ammy needs us. Let's get to the bottom of this!"

Ryo grabbed her hand and marched up to the top of the tower with his wand in hand.

[Ratatosk Richter]

"Yeah." Ratatosk replied getting to her feet.

Ratatosk and Ryo ran up the steps quickly. In only a matter of minutes they were half-way up. Ammaterasu ran into Ratatosk as she rounded another flight of steps only inches ahead of Ryo. Ratatosk screamed a blood-curdling scream and began to tumble back down the steps. She could only think 'I look like an idiot!'

Ryo stood defensively in front of Ratatosk, "Don't worry. I won't let him near you."

Something was odd about the man in front of him. He was deathly pale, a trait usually reserved for vampires, but if he was then why stop the sun in the middle of the sky? He wasn't going to shoot off a spell just yet. He wanted to see what the man was up to.

[Ratatosk Richter]

Ratatosk hid behind Ryo. Her heart pounding quickly. She was staring at a boy. His eyes look oddly familiar, but she couldn't quite place the discomfort she felt when she made eye contact with him. His clothes didn't help the ideal at all and neither did his skin color. It was almost white, like he'd never seen the sun before.

"Umm...hi." Ratatosk offered, trying to hide the uncertainty in her voice. "I'm Ratatosk. How about you?"

For an absurd reason she felt obliged to be polite. Her mind told her to be kind and warm, but her heart screamed danger. She didn't step out from behind Ryo, who had become intent on being her shield. As she listened to the warning her heart screamed with each beat, her breathing quickened and she felt the world turn and her vision blurred. She felt dizzy and tottered to the side, instinctly grabbing out to the first thing in front of her.

Ammaterasu growled. His heart raced with adrenaline and anger. His own flesh and blood stood in front of him. Zetta. Only a few months difference. They didn't look anything alike except for the eye color.

From Ammaterasu's periphial vision he noticed the quickening of Ratatosks' breathing and the realized that she was hyperventalating. As he watched her totter for a moment and grab at Ryos' shirt he threw his hand out to catch her. Her small frame formed simply into his arm and her weight did nothing to throw him off balance.

"Ratatosk!" He shouted as her saw her eyes go cloudy. "Ratatosk! Hey!"

Ammaterasu waited as he watched his friends eyes go back to the brilliant orange they were once before.

[Anise Tatlin]

Zetta snorted disgusted with the kindness shown from his potential prey. 'Hi.' He felt disgusted.

"Don't you act so familiar with me girl." Zetta growled angrily. "I am not one of you filthy maggots. Do not treat me as such."

He glanced at the protective stance of the boy in front of the girl. He grinned arrogantly.

"Brother Ammaterasu...tsk tsk tsk, is this the pathetic boy you call your friend? He seems nothing more than an ingrate unworthy to be in my sight." Zetta frowned with disgust. "I can't believe that we're actually brothers. It disappoints me so to be in the same blood line as you."

As he watched his brother put the girl back on her feet he laughed darkly. He raised his hand towards Ammaterasu and closed his hand. He grinned as he watched his older brother writhe in agony as he choked the 'favorite' of the parents.

'If only mother and father could see the perfect Ammaterasu now." Zetta wished with a fake sadness. "They would see that I'm the better son and treat me with the kindness I deserve!"

Zetta tightened his fist with the last word and laughed again as he heard a small grunt come from his brother. He'd never felt so much pleasure from inflicting pain on a victim. The feeling of a pure twisted amusement filled him up but soon vanished as he saw the little girl get to her feet.

Ryo readied a spell only to find his target was gone. Suddenly he received a nasty whack on the head.

Kuso...

It was his ever-so-late broom. Niobe probably thought he tried to kill her. As "fun" as that was however a presumed vampire was a little more pressing. Worse yet was the lingering question of did he leave or was he hiding?

The boy's stomach churned as his friend cried in pain. A deep desire for vengeance welled up within him. He tried to let it go as the figure was quite possibly gone.

"Ammy, how are you doing?"

[Ratatosk Richter]

(OOC:I'm so sorry you guys! I've been in the hospital. I found out that I recently developed a hole in my heart and that I needed a heart transplant and one been down since. Im so sorry!!)


"Ammy!? A...are you okay?" Ratatosk felt the sting of the tears forming in her eyes. They dripped from her brilliant orange eyes. as she dropped to her knees to kneel beside her friend. She looked up helplessly to Ryo."Will Ammy be ok? Ryo?"

Ammaterasus' head was in a blur. Be was surrounded by grey. A soft swirling gray that kept him afloat in the blur. He felt himself grow more tired every minute that he stayed in the warmth of the gray. He felt something warm splash onto his body. Rain? No...it doesn't rain in the afterlife does it? He'd have to ask Ryo once he found him in this grey. More of the rain hit his body and be watched where the grey once was it recoiled away. He smiled and continued to let himself give into the grey. Happiness found its way into Ammaterasus mind.
