She backed off, and Talon felt even more uncomfortable if that was even possible. His body was screaming for her to come back, and to touch him again, and as she said 'Though I could if you ever wanted me to,' the Headmaster couldn't help but think that he wanted her to and that she ought to come back and show him right now.
Then, however, Chloe applauded him once more - this time genuinely - and announced that she was half-veela. It was like a brick suddenly hit Talon flat in the face. He straightened his body, cleared his throat, grabbed various edges of his robes and covered his lap discreetly, realizing that all this time he'd been under the effect of a very powerful spell.
Well it was neither of their faults, really. The Divination applicant didn't mean to seduce him, it was just part of her being what she was. His reaction, as well, was part of who he was: a man. Some called him a great man, but he was a man none the less. He felt the exact opposite of what he'd been feeling just moments before digging at his insides. A strange, cold, and painful restoration of his own sanity.
"Yes, well, I'm honored to hear you say that," Talon said, his eyes not quite looking at the woman but rather over her shoulder, "but I'm not quite as remarkable a man as people or even I may lead you to believe." It was more said for himself than anything else. What would he say if anyone ever found out about today? What about Rezna?
What about Rezna?
The thoughts of Talon's beautiful and loving girlfriend hadn't even filled his mind the entire time that Veela was on him, and now as her gentle smile and deep respect came back to him he felt absolutely awful. It was a blessing that he managed to pull away when he did, but all the same...would he tell her about this himself? If he put Chloe on the staff, it was very well likely that the stories of this incident would get out, but if he rejected her...well Veela weren't exactly the most sporting types.
"Actually, no, no, you have the job," Talon said, just wanting this woman out for now, "you have full access to our staff rooms and the Divination classroom in the North Tower. Congratulations Professor Vablatsky, and welcome to Firefox University."
He thought he was going to be sick.
