Throughout the whole Parents Weekend ceremonies, Nelistra had been darting this way and that, the pallid Head Girl becoming the veritable Queen of Micro Management. She had arranged a great number of the letters to be sent out, outlined the schedules to the Elves, posted and organized the varied activities in all of the Common Rooms as well as sending copies to the parents. She had taken a moment to tell Doctor Schmitt that there was apparently an invisible colony of penguins hiding somewhere in the Dungeons so that he would be kept occupied and out of sight of the visiting parents -
- she sincerely hoped that little white lie would not come to bite her later, effective as it was -
She also stepped up as the Headmistress' secretary in part - handling what she could to lessen Professor Pendragon's workload especially on this weekend. All in all, things were running optimally, efficiently, and as smoothly as could be hoped. She sat at the Head of the Ravenclaw's table, red eyes flicking toward the doorway periodically..
...Her hopes were not exactly high.
But - something did happen much to her surprise. A falcon - one of the Cunningham falcons, flew in through the Hall and deposited a letter infront of her. Though...true to style, it did not pause to land - it simply dropped the letter and flew away. It was of course an elegant card, embroidered and a miniature work of art, but the message was simple. Not even a page long.
Nelistra,
Congratulations on Head Girl. We expect nothing less. Thinking of you often. Sorry we cannot visit.
-Mother and Father.
......It was in the Butler's handwriting. They had not even bothered to write their own bloody apology to their own daughter.
But it was not her place to get upset. No no. Nelistra simple smiled, and folded the card once and tucked it into her immaculate robes. She was the Head Girl. She had to set an example for the rest of the students under her care. She would be pleasant and charming and...look at all of the others with their families...oh dear...something was in her eye.
