"We're friends, right?"
The lycan was quite obviously taken aback by that one little statement, simple and short as it had been. He opened his mouth but didn't say anything, and after a moment, he closed it again. His face was nonplussed, and the animal flatness in his eyes seemed to subside.
Friends.
Huh.
Straight from Gabby's mouth, too. Well, that was... Ah. Hmm. He didn't know what to think. Baffled, he listened to the student go on. Up in Gabby's business? Tch, he would never. Orca wasn't nosy. Not at all!
He looked down, away from Gabriel's silver eyes. Ugh. Stupid, stupid Gabriel. "I ain't gonna die." Despite himself, his voice came out gentle. Soothing. Like how one might talk to a stray cat.
Or bird. Fucking Gabriel.
"Alright." He shook his head. "Goddamn. Yes, you're my friend." The way his eyes slanted to the side suggested those were words were no less easy for him to say than they had been for Gabe. However, Orca wasn't a total fucking pussy, so he manned up right quick.
Refocusing on the dark-haired male, he brought up a hand and grabbed Gab's chin, a slight rotation of his wrist bringing the scarred side of Gabriel's face into view. Apparently, one of his kind had done that, or something. He clucked his tongue. So Gabby wanted to know what was up, hmm? Fine, fine.
He let go of Gabby's face, ignoring that minor feeling of loneliness that arose whenever physical contact was lost. Doing his very, very best to not get distracted, or touch Gabriel more, or kiss him, or, well, anything, the lycan spoke.
"I took over the forest." The words came out matter-of-fact, rather than prideful or boasting. "And, I think..." He stopped that last part, squinted hard at Gabriel, then shook his head. "Never mind, that part's not important. I just gotta be careful now, you know? Didn't matter before at all if I got dead fucking around with you or whatever, but now I got, you know, people depending on me 'n shit."
It was a lot more than he'd wanted to say, and that thought irked him a bit, but he let it go. Gabriel did that to him, among a number of other very obvious things. Orca sighed. Pa-the-tic.
