Ashelle walked along the edge of the forest, contemplating. She was not close enough for anything to very easily drag her into it, nor was she unarmed - though, to most of the forests citizens, a wand and a steel dagger were nothing to worry about.
In truth she was not armed against them but what might come from the open fields to her right. Those to whom the balance of magical and non-magical life was not -to say the least- a priority.
Ashelle was walking in the general direction of the school, allowing her mind to wander over her years in traditional magical education. She kept her mind focused enough to keep her distance from the forest edge constant, and also awake enough to notice any odd movements from either side, that might need her attention.
As the scenes of her life between classes played out in her mind; her first encounter with Fenris Fenrir, then the last when in desperation for a strong Lycan ally against the BFC she freed him. Did he remember as vividly as she did the night she'd tried to protect her fellow students of MH from him? He must have thought she was totally insane - on both occasions!
As she thought through her past she began to feel more and more depressed about it. She stopped in her tracks, and stood for a moment facing the forest. She felt the breeze of the cool day blow thought her hair and sighed, repeating a Trithear cleansing prayer Aunt Ashelle had written down for her to herself.
As she finished reciting her prayer, she noticed a movement in the grass from the direction of the forest that didn't seem to be in keeping with the direction of the wind. She stilled, and waited to see what it was, another difficulty or perhaps a blessing in disguise from her goddess.

I am my the Master of my Fate
I am the Captain of my Soul
Should life throw dangers and difficulties my way
I will weather that storm, like I have those that've come before
Knowing that while sometimes I can be silly or clumsy
I will always have friends who love me
They know where I stand, and will stand with me
For as my days go by,
Whether they be long or short
I know they will be as I choose to make them
For I am the only one who has the right to choose my Future
Mine is the Power, the Courage and the Wisdom, Forever
All I have to do is seek it.
So Shall it Be
I am the Captain of my Soul
Should life throw dangers and difficulties my way
I will weather that storm, like I have those that've come before
