Chloe listened gravely as Talon spoke. This man was apparently one for speeches but there was no denying he was not bad as a leader. Something that struck her as he illuminated the gravity of the situation was how young each person at that table was. Her eyebrows knit together for a second as she looked at each face very briefly. Not one of them over 30 it seemed. Such a young group of adults charged with the protection of rather reckless students in extremely hostile territory. Of course Chloe had an inkling about this at least before she applied for the position in the first place. Anyone in their right mind would research the place they were going to work before going to. She knew about the attacks, about the lack of authority in the area. And yet she had still decided to come.
The woman didn’t say any of this though. She for one was not someone for big speeches and it wasn’t her place to lecture. If someone got here and didn’t know they were expected to die for this school then they were a moron. Every Professor had their own lives and pleasures, Chloe was not excluded. But even if she was loose and had fun she knew where her duty was to these children.
After Forgoil spoke however she decided to take her turn to interject. “Forgive my intrusion on your suggestion sir” She just realized she didn’t know his name, whups! “But it may be more prudent to look to our own ground before reclaiming the Tunnel. We have our Tower in ruins and if this school is in as much danger as you say it could probably use with some fortification.” That Tower had been where she held her classes and it was a shame to lose that. Her mind went to the fact that Talon said the school was supported off investors though and knew that they would need funds to improve the school. “If you need money for it you could always send those investors to me and I’ll do my best.” One of her characteristic knowing smiles crossed her angelic features. If any of those investors were male she could probably twist them around enough to get at least some of the funds they needed.
“I do not mean to demean your suggestion Professor.” She said gently towards Forgoil, trying to show she wasn’t trying to be rude. “I just think if we can strengthen ourselves from within we may be more able to go after whatever evils are outside.”
