Fuu stared intently with both mixed fear and worry in her eyes toward Muryllis. He legs were in rough shape. Sylph had some bad damage to her as well. Fuu had seen Mury fight a few times before. Muryllis was not an opponent to be taken lightly. He was strong before but lately something seemed off. He and grown so powerful in such a short time. Odd. She had never experienced Sylph's powers before but she was a great match for Muryllis.
Mury flicked his wand and Sylph was hammered with water. It looked bad. Fuu really didn't like to fight. She was a lover, not a fighter. Muryllis tried to move to the side, but was stopped with the fact of his injured legs. "With an injury like that, he may not make it too much longer." Fuu thought quite concerned for his safety.
'And about the previous note; what did they give in the old days for dishonorable conduct? Say, three lashes?" Muryllis said. Those words hit Fuu wrong. She didn't know Mury as well as she wanted but that seemed off. The fight was getting tense and so was Fuu she was biting her bottom lips and she had almost a death grip on the strap of her bag.
Nope. There was no end. Sylph never stopped until it was clear who the winner was; more specifically, until it was clear that she had won. She had a competitive streak a mile long, and would not give in, much less to some jumped-up arrogant Ravenclaw she didn't even like.
As she sent the dagger-like icicles flying with deadly intent toward her opponent, Sylph was suddenly but dimly aware of a new presence in the room. Of course, the concentration it took to maintain the North wind indoors - not to mention the effort used to actually borrow its power - meant that she could not turn away until the attack was over. Through the swirl of her hair she managed to see some of her magical knives hit home, finding their targets legs if nothing else, and in the next second she dived away to her left in a duck and rolling motion, popping up next to the new entrant. Jumping to her feet with lithe ease she cocked an eyebrow down at the Slytherin, knowing she only had a few seconds to greet the nurse before Muryllis countered her attack.
"Alright, Fuu?" she grinned at the red-head as if the were no blood trickling down her back nor a wounded boy of her own making on the other side of the room. "What're you doin' here? Me and Muryllis are just havin' a little practice session - stay and watch if you like. Don't expect it to be pretty though." With another quick Sylph-style grin and a cheery wink and the Gryffindor prefect was gone, racing away from Fuu toward Muryllis. The last thing she wanted was to drag other people into this increasingly nasty fight, but Muryllis did seem to be weakening. Why, he had even fallen into taunting her back. Sylph afforded herself a wry smile. He really shouldn't bother; Sylph had thicker skin than a rubber rhinoceros.
"Yeah, that's what I'm doing," she drawled idly, absent mindedly letting the still gusting cold wind play though her fingers. It gave her comfort and strength, and while it drained her somewhat to maintain it, she still had plenty of tricks left up her sleeve. "Whining. See, watch me whine. Whinge whinge whinge. There you go, I'm done. And oh - so are you." She added this last bit in mock-surprise, the sarcasm in her voice thick and heavy, for Muryllis had just disappeared again. Stay still you little bugger, Sylph thought blandly, looking left and right for the Ravenclaw boy. Nope, he'd turned invisible again. Tutting a little with her tongue she was about to cast an all around shield charm when she felt a harsh shoving sensation at her left side, causing her to topple over as if tripped. Cursing mentally, though she had at least managed to break her fall, her eyes flashed with annoyance and the biting wind that surrounded them all began to gust a little more, becoming a freezing gale that howled through the room like a real being. Boreas the serpent was back with a vengeance, ready to defend she who had summoned him.
Sylph on the other hand, in the process of leaping back to her feet with renewed energy, was hit by what she initially thought was a wave from the sea - tall, cold and utterly drenching. What remained was a bedraggled purple mess of a girl, robes sticking to every body part, violet locks plastered to her face. However, a grin slowly began to spread over her features; she was laughing! Flicking some of the hair out of her eyes with long fingers, she giggled in a most un-like Sylph manner - it was as if the manic crazy girl from before was still lingering behind those glittering eyes, only there was seemingly no rage to her mania now. Sylph was merely laughing at the thought of herself as a purple drowned rat. Her hair was matted and waist long as it was, but now it must have looked a right state. Shaking her head like a dog would, she removed most of the excess water, but there was still no sign of Muryllis.
Her amusement was short-lived however, as the familiar lashing sensation, those long lengths of stinging burning pain, covered her back in vicious bloody curls. Boreas deflected the worst of them, but the ethereal whips still reached her skin. Three lashes? That bastard. Sylph swore loudly in frustrated pain; language that would shock a Cornish sailor. Unlike Muryllis, venting the pain into loud curse words always seemed to alleviate Sylph's torment, and once she had got them out of the way she could focus much better on the task at hand. But it did hurt. Hurt. Like. Hell. Still, there was the matter of her attacker to be dealt with, and Sylph was perfectly capable of ignoring the pain she was in, let alone the sticky trickle of her own blood down her back. While it was a disturbingly irritating sensation, it was nothing on the annoyance caused by Muryllis. Sylph hated sneaky attacks, no matter what the boy had said about being prepared to deal with anything. He was right, sure, but that didn't make his underhanded tactics ethical by any means. A final sharp hissing intake of breath and she spun around toward the fog that the Ravenclaw boy had created. He was in there somewhere, he had to be.
"Vaporarium!" The evaporation charm quickly dispersed the fog cloud, pleasant sizzling noises filling the hall as the moisture began to steam and disappear. In the misting vapour, the hazy vision of Muryllis slowly appeared, his legs mangled and his face contorted in a painful grimace. Sylph smiled grimly. Time to end this shiz.
"Not looking good, Mury," she told him, her voice rather expressionless as her eyes lingered on his bloodied wounds. Boreas continued to swirl around her in a tempest, drying her hair but freezing her skin and drawing heat from her body. Now she was soaked through she could really do with the hot and dry south wind rather than this icy gale, which was beginning to draw goose-bumps from her arms. Still, Sylph had never been one to mind the cold much, and Boreas could still help her. Of course, this fight was starting to get to both of them - maybe she should just end it the old fashioned way. She was bigger that Mury and a keen sports player, she could even take the big guys on at rugby. A quick flying tackle followed by a blow to the head and it would all be over. So why did she hesitate? For the very same reason she could end it. She was bigger than Muryllis, and while she was seriously beginning to dislike the guy, he was certainly talented, and talented deserved better that physical violence, right? Then again, he had told her that anything could be done in a fight like this one - surely a good old fashioned body check would be permitted? Sylph scowled to herself; her better nature had won. Muryllis may have called her names, but they certainly weren't true, and Sylph, despite her overwhelming desire to win, had strong morals, and that included not taking out guys younger and smaller than her.
"Expelliarmus!" she yelled, sending her enemy's wand flying across to the other side of the room with shocking force - Sylph was overdoing things again. It wasn't her fault, she'd always had difficulty keeping simple spells under control, it was as if they were too simple, and she had to make them better. Either way though, Muryllis was now wandless and his movement hindered - would he give in? Sylph doubted it, and cast another - hopefully final - spell.
"Repagula flagro!" At once thick bars either entirely composed or covered in flame sprung up around the Ravenclaw, surrounding him completely. The fire was cold though - he could touch it - if not actually break free - and Sylph smiled down at him from a distance, the pain in her back suddenly returning with renewed sting, almost as if the moment the fiery bars appeared flames had also set alight to her skin. She closed her eyes momentarily, willing the icy wind around her to help her with her torment, revelling in the cold moving air.
"Still wanna go?" she said, those green eyes fluttering open once more, but her voice was flat. "I'll let you out if you can give me a good reason to." Sylph was rapidly growing weary of this fight, but a quick glance in Fuu's direction, checking the girl was still in her place at the door, meant that she could not show it. "What'd'ya say, Mury? Still up for it, or do you want a break?"
Muryllis was wholly satisfied by the painful effects of his Cat-o-Ninetails'; a great little spell it is inflicting pain the old-fashioned way... His thoughts were derailed, however, by the next moves of the girl. With a word, the cloud he had conjured slowly dissipated, though he was much too preoccupied with subduing his pain to use the Corridor and teleport yet again. With a triumphant smile, he greeted his opponent as he was revealed within the cloud. She seemed to be deep in thought, however; Muryllis was glad, as this gave him enough time to overcome, again, the powerful distracting ability of the stabbing pain.
Daintily pulling yet another shard of ice out of his thigh, he cursed under his breath as he caught Sylph raising her wand to continue the duel. A powerful force could be felt slamming against his wand hand, effectively disarming him as it sent his wand flying against the wall. Though this spell, obviously driven by anger (good, good indeed,) had a rather 'smashing' effect on his wand, he was not freaked - his was was made of rather strong yew wood, and could easily withstand a beating, both physical and magical.
Suddenly, a cage of fire - oddly cold - appeared around him, effectively locking him in. The fire really was cold, though; reaching a hand out, he realized these bars were made entirely of the cool, harmless flame. He laughed at the girl's joke, "Quite funny indeed. And yes, I rather do still want to go. My reason? Because I'm far from finished." He then let his eyes cloud over, completing the mental lockdown on the pain he was experiencing in his legs. They went numb, completely useless - but at least he no longer had the pain to distract him as he attempted another spell.
Sylph had used an elemental spell difficult to block with charms? Well then, Muryllis would try something (rigorously practiced since Tobias taught it to him) on her that was equally difficult to defend from - and if Muryllis, a master of charmwork, could barely figure out a defense against a spell like this, what were the chances of Sylph managing to do so? Opening his eyes again, he raised both his hands eye level, palms facing the Gryffindor girl. All of his practice suddenly rushed over him, filling his mind with notes he had made on how to achieve the maximum effectiveness. He had mutated, with much trouble, the spell of Tobias, Umbrasima Coprealus, into something a bit more 'spicy', Corpus Umbrarum. His palms suddenly grew dark as deepening clumps of shadow, oddly resembling something like artistic black holes, were summoned in the center of each hand. Silent and wandless casting; truly a powerful art - I must ask Syrus to elaborate on this for me.
He launched the twin bolts, which in turn toon on lives of their own, twisting and tumbling as they spiraled towards the girl, waiting almost hungrily to envelope her in shadows. She had used elementalism; I shall use the shadows. With this easily bought time, he proceeded to crawl his way to his wand, feeling refreshed as the cool flames danced around him. He suddenly felt lightheaded; whether because of the concentration required for the powerful spell he had just cast, or because this 'cage' really was made to attempt to hold someone in - most likely the latter, for he felt, after crawling out a few meters, a sudden rush of intriguing feeling, as if he had just come out of a soap bubble.
No matter; while Sylph was having her fun with his own playful shadow bolts, he made his way to his wand, lying unscathed in a corner. Looking back, he noticed a fresh trail of blood leading away from the flaming cage, next to which stood Sylph, and on the other side of which stood Fuu. He was a relatively safe distance away from Sylph, so he decided to rest as she took care of his previous spell, ever ready to continue once she was finished. "This duel is far from over, my good Sylph. Having fun?" If the spell went as planned - and there was practically no chance it wouldn't, seeing is this was probably a new form of magic for her - she would be effectively blinded, possibly even stunned; the shadows are no joke, he thought, remembering the amazing things he had seen from Scorpius and others at Diadem Fortress. Indeed...

A weary Sylph came quickly to greet Fuu. Fuu said nothing to the girl and just gave her a pleasant smiled, but it reeked of being false. Fuu contemplated on what Sylph said, ” What're you doin' here? Me and Muryllis are just havin' a little practice session - stay and watch if you like. Don't expect it to be pretty though.”. She already knew that, and the words of Sylph weren’t a comfort. She didn’t know if they were supposed to be comforting at all.
Fuu searched around to see if she could spot Muryllis. He had turned invisible. How odd, she had never seen it done with out a cloak. Mury was a mystery. After Sylph was drenched she began a crazy laugh. The lunacy of her out burst even disturbed Fuu. Sylph dispensed a fog cloud and Muryllis was in sight again.
"Not looking good, Mury," Sylph said. Fuu agreed to this statement but Sylphy wasn’t looking at the top of her game either.
In an instant Sylph disarmed and had Muryllis trapped in a fire cage. This wasn’t good. Then Muryllis did something strange, something Fuu had never seen before. She had heard of wizards and witch using their magic without a wand but to see it was phenomenal. Out of nowhere Mury summoned two black orbs of shadow, they consumed Sylph. The anxiety of the situation made Fuu turn away.
Upon looking back, the sight she saw was heartbreaking. Mury had freed himself from the cage but was followed with a path of blood. There was so much of it. She tried to mask how worried she was for the both of them especially Muryllis. She truly wanted this to end.
OOC: sorry this has taken so long, I'm having real trouble with inspiration at the moment. If this isn't up to standard I do apologise.
Alright, she bought into the whole silent casting thing, but wandless magic? Something in Sylph's stomach twisted with a sharp pang, an instinctive reaction that was only a split-second later echoed in her mind. Muryllis should not know how to do that... It was widely held that while certain spells could be performed without wands by all but the most incompetent of wizards, those that could cast magic of the kind Muryllis was attempting were often deep in the pockets of those who practiced dark arts. If Sylph hadn't liked Muryllis before, now her suspicions went into overdrive. No kid of Muryllis' age should be able to throw bolts of shadow from his bare hands, it wasn't natural.
All this passed through the prefect's keen mind even before his bolts were sent flying toward her, swirling and twisting around each other like heat-seeking missiles until they circled her like hungry sharks, and for a moment, all light and warmth seemed to fade, Boreas died and Sylph was left alone in her surprise, her own brightness and colour somehow dimmed. She had no idea how to deal with magic of this kind, but she had to find a way. Muryllis was clearly injured - she was now glad that Fuu was here, if anything, Mury needed this duel to end, simply so he could get some medical attention. And Sylph more than anything needed to beat him once and for all, even if just to show him his fancy tricks and cheats would not avail him. The kid seriously needed to be taught a lesson. Once that was done, she could go back to watching him closely and investigate exactly where he had learnt such advanced magic. His previous school, however over-zealous and creepy, would not have taught him wandless magic as a matter of course, and to her it seemed a new development. He had learnt it since his arrival at Firefox, of this she was sure.
Suddenly, from the eerie and ethereal greyness of the shadow bolts, there was an explosion of colour and light, and Boreas the North wind blew with renewed gusto. Sylph was going to end this now, wandless magic or no. And at least with no wand he wouldn't be able to defend himself quite so easily. She stood, feet shoulder width apart, planted firmly on the floor while her hair caught and swirled in the gale and her eyes blazed. She suddenly seemed far taller, great and ferocious, like some purple and green tempest of terrible power. When she spoke her voice was distorted by the wind, each noise from her mouth stolen from her lips by Boreas, echoing and distant, and yet forceful and rather masculine, enhanced by the power of the mighty wind.
"Muryllis, this is over. If you will not admit defeat, though you are clearly loosing, I will make you." With a few leaping strides, the girl crossed the distance to her opponent in scant seconds, dragging the Ravenclaw boy to his mangled and useless feet by the scruff of his neck with the slightest of efforts. Her emerald eyes blazed with bright fire as she gazed upon his pathetic figure.
"Goodnight, Mury," she whispered fiercely, but not without a trace of pity. "Little boys shouldn't tangle with things bigger than them. You say expect all, I say expect nothing." Then, with her free hand, she knocked him swiftly and with control in the side of the head, her aim practiced and perfect, causing him to slump unconscious in her arms. Alright, so her better side had lost the battle, but after Muryllis' display of sneaky cowardice and dubious methods, she felt it was warranted. And at least he could get that bleeding seen to.
"Hey, Fuu," she said, chirpily, all traces of the battle apparently erased from her expression and tone, and let the north wind die for the last time. "Give us a hand, will ya?"bg
In the last moments of Muryllis' consciousness, Sylph was so powerful and had a frightening fierce look. More intimidating than before. Fuu hid it but it frightened her just at that moment. The moment Sylph's arm came swift and powerful with a crack on the side of Muryllis' head. She felt the blood drain from her face and she grew pale.
"Hey, Fuu," Sylphs powerful voice brought her to.As she regained her manner, she watched Muryllis for a second, he was only knocked out. That relived her but there was still worry. "Give us a hand, will ya?" Came Sylph's voice again but in her regular tone.
She took her bag off and threw it to the side. It would be easier to lift him without the extra weight. She hurried over to them both. Fuu knelt down first and softly touched his head. Oh, how she cared for him! She hated to see him hurt but deep inside when she looked into Sylph's eyes she knew this was his own fault. Fuu didn't quite understand why, for she only managed to see the good in Mury, but still the feeling she got from the overall battle made her feel that way.
Fuu gently grabbed him and pulled him up high enough to get his arm around her far shoulder. She lifted and held his waist with her opposite had. He was a little heavy for her, but Fuu wasn't as weak as she looked. Yet, they started to tip to the side a little. With a serious expression and a commanding tone she called to Sylph, "Help me hold him for a moment, " she paused and grabbed his side harder, but not hard enough, hopefully, to hurt him, "So I can get a better grip on him."bg
Well that was a relief. Sylph had expected some outburst from the onlooker, something about disgraceful conduct, but the nurse did actually seem to understand there was a reason for what Sylph did, even if not the actual reason. Then again, Sylph was a little confused herself. Muryllis was a git, sure, but his annoyance factor would not have made her act in such a way; she was not a bully, and was not used to knocking people out, especially those younger and smaller than her. But what else could she have done? Muryllis could have bled out if she had left him any longer, for she was sure he would not have admitted defeat despite the odds being heavily against him. But it was not just for him that she had done this; the wandless magic had creeped her out, in a manner of speaking of course, for Sylph was rarely intimidated, but she had felt that the sooner it was stopped the better, and so had done so with her usual brisk manner.
As Fuu rushed to her aid, Sylph laughed a little. The Slytherin girl was no doubt skilled at nursing, but she seemed to have a slight shortage of memory - she seemed to forget she was a witch. It would have been a lot easier to levitate Muryllis rather than lug him all the way to the hospital wing by hand, but Sylph let her get on with it. Her energy banks were running low after that epic and painful fight - as she was reminded as another trickle of blood down her shredded back made her shiver instinctively - but she was plenty strong enough to lift Muryllis, even though she was beginning to be covered, drenched, even, in his blood.
"Cheers, Fuu," the violet haired girl smiled rather tiredly. "But we could just wave a wand at him and move him that way you know. You look a little pale, though," she added with a swift keen look at the younger girl. "Are you alright? I would have thought you'd be used to blood and stuff. Was it the duel?"
Fuu grinned at the pretty purple haired girl. Maybe Fuu had forgotten to mention how she.....sucked at life. There was always the fear in her ming that she could accidentally make him burst into flames or turn him into a squishy rock. She didn't want to be primitive and do it the muggle way. With the amazing display of power she had seen today surely she could handle a little levitation spell. Fuu settled Muryllis back to the ground and ran over to her bag. She opened her bag, pulling out her wand. She stepped back over to the two still with a smile but she was a little nervous. With a delicate gesture of her wand she spoke the words, "Wingardium Leviosa". Nothing happened.
Fuu let out a sigh and glanced over to Sylph, trying as hard as she could not to look embarrassed. She spoke softly to Sylph, "I always takes two times." She didn't know f this was assurance for Sylph or herself. She cleared her mind and tried and, "Wingardium Leviosa." This time it worked. She gave a little titter of joy before stepping closer. It was east from here, as long as she didn't loose concentration. She really didn't want to drop him. How on earth did she make it five years already!?
Fuu eyed Sylph with compassion over her wounds as replied, "It's not the blood..."she stopped and only glanced at him for second, "I-I don't like to see Muryllis hurt, that's all. I know he likely brought this on himself but-but I don't know. I care for him, probably more than he knows." Fuu was quiet bashful as she spoke and was glad he wasn't awake to hear her. "How are your injuries?" she paused and looked down to Muryllis. "Why-" she stopped herself, it was a question she could as him herself, "You should check into the hospital Wing, if you think you are okay then come later, but I will escort you now if you want to come?"bg
Sylph quirked a wry smile - the first calm and genuinely amused one that day - and settled a humoured gaze on Fuu's young face. More than he knows, eh? she thought dryly as her eyebrows raised a little. No, surely not. Mury's a... well, he's... mean, she finished lamely, thanking the stars she hadn't said any of that out loud. Fuu had obviously not seen the entirety of his spell casting against Sylph. Even the most sneaky of Slytherins could not bring themselves to like or admire his actions (well, most of them), and Fuu was a nice Slytherin, possibly the nicest Sylph knew of. No accounting for taste, she told herself sternly. But don't you go interfering, Slyphy.
The mildly amused and inquiring expression remained fixed on Fuu's face for a moment, but with a small snort of laughter - barely audible - the tall girl looked away, toward the motionless form of Muryllis. Now Sylph had calmed down, his injuries looked even worse. His legs were bleeding heavily, and there were shreds of skin hanging off, jagged and evil in appearance. A pang of guilt shook her stomach for a moment, but she knew he'd be alright once he was taken to the hospital wing. Fuu tried lifting him with the levitation charm, and Sylph shook her head in a funny way. Mobili corpus would have been more effective, but Sylph was tired, and Fuu seemed to be handling it just fine. At the nurse's question, Sylph frowned a little, trying to feel her own back by squeezing and stretching it by rotating her shoulders. It stung incessantly, and as she attempted to move the skin, she could feel both tightening and trickling - dried and fresh blood respectively.
"Yeah, I think I need to come with you," she said blandly, still wiggling oddly; the feeling was most certainly a strange one. "Won't take too long on me, I reckon, nothing a bit of savlon can't handle. It's him I'm worried about." The frown deepened as she returned her sights to her felled opponent, and the guilt was back. When she spoke again, she sounded even more tired and wrought. Summoning Boreas for so long had really drained her resources, but this wasn't just physical. With a sigh she pinched the bridge of her nose for a moment, and spoke.
Fuu watched Sylph and waited for an answer to her question. "Good." she replied. Fuu really hated those people who, when injured, didn't go to the hospital wing. She was relieved when Sylph said that she would go. Fuu replied to the girl again, "I know the perfect thing to help you." she said while she thought about it. Then she glanced down to Mury body again, and frowned.
Fuu nodded and agreed with Sylph who looked much more tired than before. They should hurry so Sylph could sit down. And he longer she waited the longer Muryllis had to stay wounded. Her frown shifted into a smile but her eyes still seemed sad she spoke to Sylph, "Thank you Sylph." and then she turned to Mury, "C'mon. let's hope this isn't a bumpy ride."
Fuu walked over to the doors where she had entered. On her way she grabbed her bag and slung it over her shoulder. As she walked on leaving the dueling hall she kept a close eye on Sylph and concentrated on keeping Mury afloat.
