4:55 PM
James walked to the dueling hall, silently thinking about the duel ahead. He was dressed in his dragonskin cloak, steel-toed boots, jeans and long-sleeved black collared shirt. His dark, mid-back level hair was tied in a long ponytail. His 12-inch white ash wand was in its holster, swinging at his hip. His orange-brown eyes were far off.
That night, he had been preparing himself, as well as contemplating his father's death. He'd have to pull out all the stops on this one, no holding back. He had asked around and apparently, this guy was serious. His cloak silently brushed the ground as he turned a corner.
He reached the Dueling Hall and pushed open the doors. He looked around and saw there were a few people here and there and a small concentration of Gryffindors over by the west wall. He suspected the Slytherins would arrive with Tobias. Not a single one would miss what they thought would be the public humiliation and possible death of some upstart Gryffindor too big for his britches.
How wrong they would be. Professor Elensar was already here. She was now waiting, like him for Tobias Selther to arrive.
Tobias strode into the hall silently, as was his typical style. He found his ref, and his opponent waiting for him. The young Slytherin was wearing his cloak, but longer this time, covering his entire body from view. All that was visible was his head, and the small breach in the center of the cloak where his wand poked out. Behind him, a crowd of Slytherins followed, chanting, "To-bi-as! To-bi-as!"
Unhooking the near-invisible chain that kept the cloak on, before throwing it off his person in a very dramatic, and (honestly), really cool looking way. He was wearing black, pure leather, loosely-fitting pants and shirt, with matching boots and gloves. Attached to his belt was, not one, but two holsters holding his wand, and an identical one on the other side.
"Consider yourself privileged. I rarely bring out both of them. I save them for special occasions." Tobias had dove deep into his trunk, and retreived his second wand and holster, along with practicing all of his silent curses. His lessons with Mury about silent casting had signifigantly helped, and if all went well, this would be a short-lived duel. He took a few steps twoards Mustang, and prepared for the traditions.

James almost couldn't stifle the laughter welling up inside. So dramatic! I do believe he's trying to intimidate me. Two wands won't do him any good. Two guns did not improve your aim. He was ready to do this silently, he had received minor Occlumency training and would at least be able to keep him out of his head.
Well time for some tradition. He called to mind what had been taught to him and drilled into him at the tender age of eight. He said to Tobias, "I, James Tabris Mustang, receive you, my honorable opponent, Tobias Xavier Selther the Second and hope you will receive me in kind." He then bowed, keeping his eyes on Tobias. He rose and his hand was at his wand as he waited for the return.
((Wow. I can't believe I just made up that right now. Let's call that "ultra-traditional"))
Tobias stifled a laugh, but decided to play along. He bowed only slightly, but breaking tradition said, "Now, let's see if you can duel better than your old man. He must not have been too good if he was just killed." If this Mustang fellow got angry, he would lose concentration. And if he lost concentration, it would be all the easier to defeat him. He then stood fully, and leapt back, ready to duel.

Don't let it bother you James he told himself. He's trying to get you riled up. He drew his wand, pointed it at Tobias and thought powerfully, Ventus Phasmatis!.
The spell shot out like a rocket. A spiral of wind slammed into Tobias and knocked him off his feet.
"A little taste of what I'm capable of, Tobias. Let's see what you can do." He smirked.
And he uses a non-finishing spell at the start. Fool. Tobias was in the air, before contorting his body so that he landed on his feet, instantly whipping out his wands. "And you are about to see why I use two." He then began using the silent casting techniques that Mury had taught him. Raising his left wand he kept his mouth shut. Protego! Out of it, a massive yellow shield appeared.
Normally, the caster would have to keep his only wand like that, and would have to drop his guard to attack. Having two wands, this hitch was taken out of the equation. Keeping his left wand to hold the shield, he directed the wand in his right hand twoards Mustang, as he lept to the side. Secrumsemptra!
Kat watched as the two gentlemen bowed and traditionaly started the duel. Kat was about to explain the rules, but found the spells had already started to fly. Tobias down, then up. Two spells shot out towards James. "Secrumsemptra!" Kat felt her heart skip a beat. Her hands folded against her, she gave a little jump at the sound of the word. With spells flying back and forth, she wish she could have gotten the words out.
She would have to act fast, if this got to out of hand.
Are you, are you Coming to the tree Where I told you to run, so we'd both be free? Strange things did happen here No stranger would it seem If we met up at midnight in the hanging tree.

Ah, so that's his game. Clever. He wasn't worried about the attack he launched. James had something a little better than Protego.
Quickly, he pointed his wand at the ground in front of him and thought Glacies Parietus! A wall of ice sprang out of the ground. There was a dull thud as Tobias's spell collided with the wall, and chunks of ice flew up everywhere. He peeked out from behind the wall and cast a Reductor spell and directly behind that he cast in his mind, Volubilis Incendia!
Fire shot across the ground at Tobias, hot on the trail of the Reductor.
This is what Tobias had been trained for. He rose the wand controlling the shiled to deflect the reductor, as he pulled a cartwheel in mid-air over the flames, while relying completely on silent casting as he launched his counter attack by sending out two jets of black flames from his free wand, and leaping to the side yet again in a Matrix-esque move.

The twin flames melted through the wall quickly. James had to leap backwards doing a one-handed backflip to avoid both the fire and the falling block of ice. He may not look it, but underneath James has the body of an athlete in his prime, allowing him to perform such feats of strength and agility.
As Tobias became visible over the melting wall, James, still doing the handstand, launched another attack. Sarcina!, the Curse of the Burden. The force of the Earth's gravity would increase on Tobias, making it hard just to stand up.
He righted himself and flung his cloak aside. It would just get in his way.
The pressure was immediate, but he had been ready for something like this. Aurors always wanted to keep their enemies in one place, so they could not escape. It could easily be countered, while he kept his shield up. "Luna Ferro." The weight of him on the moon countered the effects of many times earth's gravity. "You'll have to do better than that Mustang! Talus Solvo!" Tobias yelled and cast the Bone-Breaker Curse. Not even Tobias himself could block it. Painful and effective.
A sickening crack could be heard, as the curse snapped the bones in Mustang's legs down the middle. If he tried to stand, he would fall, and just hurt himself.

The pain was intense and immediate. The bones in James's right leg were shattered. Dirty trick. He dragged himslef over to what was left of the wall. Hiding, he conjured a splint and, even though it was extremely painful, managed to set his leg in a makeshift cast. Gonna have to go to the hospital wing for that, but I can still walk for now.
He brought out a lighter. Time for one of those little tricks I picked up in Tibet. He flicked it on and pointed at the flame with his wand and whispered Emanio!. The flames glowed darker red. He aimed at Tobias and blew on the fire. Instead of gojng out, it shot at him and encircled Tobias. This was a special fire, unextinguishable save by the caster and hotter than regular fire.
The heat was intense, as the edges of Tobias' clothes began to singe slightly. Normal magic would not save him, but thank the Lords he knew how to use the Shadow Corridor. Making a circle with his hands, he closed his eyes in concentration, as the flames drew closer. The sweat was pouring out of him, as he attempted to stay cool. At the last possible second, a shell of shadows surrounded him, engulfed him, and disappated into the ground, before immediately reforming behind Mustang, with his wand directed at his wand hand. "Talus Solvo." Point-blank cursing. Even Tobias would not be able to get out of a mess like that. "Check and Mate."

What the hell? I was right, that is some advanc— Then his hand was broken. There was a hideous crunch as his bones broke. Tobias was hoping to disable him, but it didn't matter. There wasn't even enough time to even register pain. James grabbed his wand with his left hand as quick as lightning aimed and shouted Stupefy!.
Tobias had no chance now. He had gotten too close.
That should have been expected. The jet of red light shot him backwards, and he was in pain. He could feel his body failing him, stunning him. By the time he would hit the ground, he would be helpless, and so would Mustang...a tie. NEVER! His eyelids were closing on him, and he had to act fast. Tobias just barely raised his wand to the level of Mustang's head. "...Talus...Solvo..." A skull fracture. Even if Tobias was unconscious, he would have inflicted the most damage...that was victory enough. Another crack was heard, and Tobias hit the floor, stunned.
