Seth walked back into a large hole dug out under a open hole dug into the ground beneath a few fallen trees that made a den. The trees made a triangular roof and wall the room under the trees was as big as a normal sized living room. In the middle of the den was a raven claw girl with a splint on her leg, she was unconscious but Seth doubted that would last.
It was early morning and he was once again human. He was dressed in a pair of olive green cargo jeans and a brown t-shirt and he was bare foot. There was a small fire with a rabbit on a spit just outside.
This wasn't his den it was a friend of his, Marc Streampaw's den. Marc was a Lycan. And was not home at the moment, however Seth had joined the Lycan's Pack and knew that his friend would happily share his home, even with a human. as matter off fact he was more afraid of humans than he thought they where of him.
Seth had Bandaged the girls ankle and hoped she was okay and had just come in to check on her.

Finally stirring and realizing that the fire in her veins had subsided, Aether Shardae looked around and almost panicked; she had no idea where she was. But then a man walked in and, for some reason, Aether felt better to know that she wasn't alone. "Where am I?" She asked. "What day is it?"
Anything to avoid asking what happened to her. Why she felt different. She didn't want to know what was wrong just yet. Outside, she smelled some sort of meat cooking and her stomach growled. How long have I been sleeping? Aether wondered, but didn't speak it aloud.
Her jeans and t-shirt were a little dirty, and there was dried blood on her arms and hands. Sitting up slowly so as not to dizzy herself, Aether looked down at her leg. So something had bitten her... she hoped it was just some wild creature. There was a little blood visible through the bandage, but it seemed to be clean and for that, Aether Shardae was more than thankful. She didn't want it to become infected.
The sixteen year-old's mind felt so fuzzy, as if she couldn't quite recall what had happened. She remembered the fear, the fire, and the bite. But who had saved her? It must have been the man that had just entered the room. But where had he come from, and why couldn't she remember seeing him?
It was only then that she realized she was in sort of underground home. Being beneath the earth made her feel secure, but she still shuddered at the prospect that, if it fell, she would probably die.

Seth smiled noticing she was a wake. "It's the morning after the full moon." He said with a guilty look. "And we are in the middle of fenrir's wood, In the den of a rather Friendly Lycan named Marc Streampaw. I brought you here, because it dangerous for a werewolf to walk into highly populated area's like your school, during the full moon. No to mention there is danger to the people." He said Now beginning to get to the problem.
Instead of dancing around what he did he decided to just tell her. "It's my fault you got hurt. The wolf bane potion I took was a bit week and I lost control. I've cept the bandages clean but there is no changing what will happen on the next full moon. I must appoligize for being the werewolf that turned you." He paused and pulled the girls wand out of his pocket. which he had picked up when he was bringing her to the den. and then he tossed it on the ground next to her. "This is yours."
"I can lead you back to the school when your ready but I would suggest having some of the roasted rabbit I have cooking before you go, Unless you want to try and get to the school before breakfast ends." He suggested trying to give her something other than her problems to think about.

Aether stared up at him, wishing everything would just disappear and she would wake up from this nightmare. "What... what am I going to tell my parents? What if the Headmaster kicks me out of Firefox?" she whispered. It was then that Aether realized how hoarse her voice was, as if she had done much screaming the previous night. And it came back to her, the pain that she felt; yes, she had surely been screaming and crying the night before.
Pushing that terror out of her mind for the time being, Aether looked at the man and saw the true remorse in his eyes. She sighed and stood to her feet. It was painful, and she felt shaky, but Aether wanted to see how bad her leg really was. With a big limp, she mustered up all her courage and made the walk to outside the den where the incredible smelling rabbit was cooking up for her. Sitting down on a stump, Aether sighed and looked at the man once more.
"Am I safe, here in these woods? I hear students have died here..." She asked the man, wondering what his name was. "I've never heard of friendly Lycans, sir, not to be rude." Aether shrugged and held tightly to the wand she had gratefully taken from the Werewolf that changed her. "Everything will be different now," she whispered, mostly to herself. "But I still can't see. You'd think such an immense change would make me see."
"You'd be surprised at how similar wolves and human's are. the lord of these woods, Fenris Fenrir. Is a Lycan that would kill you for sport but not if your Part wolf insome way. Marc is a wild lycan but he respects human's and wouldn't harm one unless his life was at stake. But I'm guessing he wont be happey to learn that I buit some one and will probably get hysterical with worry that either I or he will be hunted down for the accident. And he will probably beg you not to tell any one and be afaid that you be angery." He said trying to lighten th mood a bit.
"As for your human life I would sugest learning how to make the Wolf's Bane Potion, or at least hide yourself here on the full moon so you don't hurt anyone. Believe me it hurts to know you've harmed your friends or family. The head master will understand he's not a werewolf hater, and neither will the new minister. your relitivly safe as far as that goes." He explained.
HeHe followed the girl out of the den and picked up a 4 foot long stick that he had found and and placed out side the door. "I could probably repair your leg better now that it I'm human and able to use magic. But You'll still have a limp. you can use this as a crutch if you like." He said laying the walking stick next to her. :"And what do you mean by being blind you seem to be able to see just fine." he said seriously not knowing about her half blindness.

Aether listened while she stared at the almost-finished rabbit. After removing the sky-blue contact from her blind eye, Aether Shardae turned around and looked at the Werewolf. Without the contact, it was blatantly obvious that there was no sight from the eye whatsoever; it was a milky blue color, as if someone had mixed a drop of white paint with the dazzling blue that her other eye was. Clouded and unseeing and something Aether had hidden for so long, it had become the bane of her existence.
But now, she was a Werewolf (a thought that scared her)... and she had much bigger problems. And the color contact was suddenly something that Aether saw no need for. "I've hidden it since I first came to Firefox... but I don't think I'll need it anymore," she said as she dropped the small Muggle thing into the fire. "I can only see out of one eye... but I feel different now. More sure of myself." She shrugged and looked down at her leg once more.
"Yes, I would like some help with my leg. Then we can eat and get me back to the school, because I'll have to talk with the Headmaster as soon as I get back. I'm sure I've missed a few classes already." Aether hated missing class, since she loved learning so much. But she wasn't too worried; she would catch up quickly.
"I wish I would be able to thank this Marc, though. And tell him that I'm not angry... just scared." The 'just scared' at the end of Aether's sentence was quiet, and her voice truly relayed the fear she was feeling. But she would have to get over it, get some guts, and get ready to tell those close to her what had happened. And learn how to make Wolfsbane potion.
Seth nodded at her explanation. "Well being half-blind will be ignored as soon as they find out about the new issue anyway. and if people cant accept what you are then those people don't deserve to be your friends. And you'll be able to meet Marc eventually. if you want to come her on the full moon your welcome to stay here during those night, and Marc recently lost his entire pack and I've joined us. So you already have at least one friend that doesn't mind who or what you are you are. Marc will be a quick friend as well."
Seth walked over to her and knelt down net to her. He took out his wand and with a quick spell mended what wasn't yet mended on hie ankle. it would still be sore but it could now be walked on and the pain would be gone in a few hours or so. "And on the bright side I told you what happened. When I was attacked I was young and i barely escaped with my life. however I was muggle born and had know clue what had happened, my parents suffered for my ignorance. I couldn't live with myself if I had left you to that fate. I'm glad you are understanding. Not many would keep suck a level head in this situation.
The rabbit hanging on the fire was done he grabbed the stick that was stuck through it and picked it off. He conjured two wooden bowls, and pulled a knife from hid belt. He was a woodsman, and ythe knife was a valuable tool. He used it to cut meat off the rabbit. trying to get an even amount into each bowl. He tossed the bones into the fire. and handed a bowl of rabbit meat to her. "And my name is Seth, I can't remember if I gave you my name yet or not" he said with a smile.

"I'd like to meet others that are even a little bit like me... but not now, please," Aether said, thinking on the Werewolf's words about Marc being a friend. "Thank you for not killing me, Seth. And thank you for not leaving me there... does it always hurt like that?"
Taking the bowl, the brown-haired girl began to scarf down the rabbit; meat had never tasted so good. As he introduced himself, Aether put down her utensil and licked her lips. "It's nice to meet you, Seth. My name is Aether Faline Ksenia Shardae," she replied. It was a bit formal, but she liked the way her name sounded all together, so she figured she might as well say it; there was a chance this man would become a very close person to her in her life. "Not all Werewolves are like you, are they? Because... well... I've heard stories. And the Lycans, I've always heard they're mean. Are they really kind to... people like us?"
Aether was still afraid to call herself a Werewolf. It just seemed like so much. "Thank you for helping with my foot," the girl said, getting back to her food. In her sixteen years, Aether had never been as hungry as she was then, but she would have to deal. "Am I going to be hungrier? Because I feel like I'm practically starving... There's so much I have to know!" She realized with a sigh. Moving her foot gingerly, Aether stood as she finished her bowl. "We should get going, I suppose..."

Suddenly there was a large splash from the stream and a young Lycan bounded up with tail -attached to a large fish- in his mouth.
Seth SETH!! You won't believe it! I was fishing - of course I was fishing- and a owish - I mean an Owl swooped down and gave me a letter. It's from Ashelle! I transformed and I put it in the pocket you gave me then I went back to fishing then I caught the fish and now I am here! Wanna see me read? Do yah, do yah?
He put the fish on the ground by the fire and looked over at the girl. Miss, you should be careful, Mr. Fenrir doesn't like little students in his wood, he is a Rouge and he will eat you up. You are safe with Seth and me, we don't eat or bite people, it's against the code of the Streampaws . . . members who break it are forced to leave the group! he smiled and lolled his tongue at her in a friendly way. He was quite oblivious to what had happened, so eager was he to read for Seth. He quickly disappeared inside his den to change back and put on clothes from his 'pocket'.
Soon he emerged, humanized and clothed once again and holding the letter. "Listen, ok? I can read!" He cleared his throat and began. "Marc Streampaw, that's me! The Clearing by the Stream, Fenrir's Woods, Spain." Marc seemed very proud of himself. He now opened the letter carefully, knowing that parchment slashed you a small bit if you were rough. He put the envelope in his pocket which he still wore and spreading the parchment out, continued.
"Dear Marc,
I have - in . . .incred - in-cred-i-ble news!" He smiled at Seth and puffed out his chest glad he knew what that word was even if he'd not seen it in print many times. "I have found out from an old friend that I might be related to the O'Conners! I might have a family again! You see? Miss Ashelle has her own family. She doesn't need me to have one . . . I am sure she will still be my friend, though. This is mir-a-cul-ous! I feel so happy I could just burst! You can burst from being happy? Oh my I hope that doesn't happen! This is also good news for you, told you she's still be my friend! the O'Conners happen to be animal lovers and Magical Creature support-ers special-izing in the protect-ion of Werewolves and Lycans!
Marc Let his hand with the letter in it drop to his side. He seemed to tremble and his eyes filled with tears. "I . . . I feel so happy . . . I could just burst . . ." Of course he'd heard legends of these O'Conners, but it wasn't until that moment in the letter that the name had struck home. The letter went on explaining just how much power the O'Conners had and even telling of some of the very legends Marc remembered but Marc could not bring himself to read more.
"Oh, Seth! Do you know what this means? We are saved! The O'Conners are the nicest bunch of witches and wizards you could ever hope to meet and my Gran said they taught her everything she knew about healing and Pockets and things! I think I will burst now!" and crouching down on the forest floor he did, tears rolling down his cheek from relief and happiness.

Seth Couldn't help but let out a lagh. even though the bad news was playing on his mind already. He was glad that marc was proud of himself but he knew that the happiness would soon end. So he let the Lycan show the girl just how nice lycans really where.
"Marc, It's great that you can read and I'm really happy for Ashelle. However, I have some bad news. The magic drink didn't work properly last night and well this girl is here because she is no longer human because of me. I brough her here to explain what happened and to appologize. We will be seeing her on the next big moon. I guess I should appoligize to you as well. Her Name is Aether. Aerther this is Marc Streampaw, a Lycan and last in the bloodline of his clan." It was obvious that Seth was ashamed of himself. He wondered if Marc would beable to understand the Werewolf insanity. Understand that it wasn't completely Seth's fault. However Seth wasn't going to blamre Marc if he was angery with him. He only joined Marc's pack to make it formal.

Aether jumped, feeling very skittish, when the Lycan came near. He seemed so much like a pup but, to her, he still seemed vicious; like he would just as soon gobble her up as he would the fish. And then she heard a strange voice in her head, just as she had the previous night-- she had discovered that last night's voice had been Seth's. So the voice now must be... the Lycan. "I can hear Lycans speak when they are... wolves?" she asked, quite perplexed with this new revelation.
Aether waved a bit nervously at the young Lycan as he spoke to her and then changed, reading the letter out loud to Seth. Once Marc was finished and Seth had introduced them, a timid smile crossed Aether's features. There was still dirt smudged on her face, and she looked very beaten up with her clothes all dirty and the red marks on her arms still bloody; it had been a very difficult night for her, to say the least.
"I suppose I got to close to Seth... but... there is nothing we can do about it now," she shrugged, unsure of what to say in a situation such as this. Aether's voice was still rather scratchy, though the nice warm rabbit had helped soothe it somewhat. The young man had seemed so incredibly excited to learn how to read, it made Aether feel a little brighter inside; she loved to see others with a passion for learning, since she herself felt that there was still so much more she had to learn.

Marc had been crouching but now he lost his balance and landed on the ground with a thump. His eyes were wet with happy tears but his face held a look of horror. He looked at the girl than back at Seth then again at the girl. He didn't seem to be seeing either one of them. Suddenly He yelped like he'd been burned.
"You tricked me!!! You said you were good, you said you obeyed the laws! Oh-oh, what can I do? I am only one Lycan I can't expel you from the pack by myself . . . we have to fight, and I haven't learned the ritual fight yet. Anyway I would lose. Ieeeeeeee! What can I do? You are my friend I wouldn't have fire or a pocket or a pillow if it weren't for you."
The Lycan-in-teen-form, groaned seemed to want to die on the spot. Then he stopped and got up . . . he seemed to have himself an Idea, without a word he went into the den and packed all the things he owned into the pocket. The flint and steel, the nice clothes and things Ashelle had bought him, even the nice red pillow, then undressed packed those clothes too, turned back into a Lycan and came out.
There is only one thing I can do, said Marc, allowing both of them to hear. I must throw MYSELF out of the Clan and start a new one. Little by little he was backing away, in the direction he'd come from. Carefully he side-stepped the fish. Of course this mean you must Fight off me ritually . . . but erm . . . only if you can Catch me!!! The moment the sentence was out of his mind, he turned tail and ran for his life.
YOU CAN KEEP THE FISH! he though once he was across the stream, obviously trying to buy himself time to get away. Once a Lycan was out of a Clan the only way possible for him to avoid the beating by the others was to run and run fast. If there was one thing a Young Lycan like Marc knew it was how to run fast.
Last Edit: Jul 10, 2008 14:07:44 GMT -5 by Marc Streampaw
Seth rolled his eyes at how much marc was over reacting. He didn't feel like running after the Lycan. not in human form and he wasn't the one with a choice in that matter. It was time for a few new rules. "Excuse me for just a moment please. In eed to bring sence back into the mind of my friend." This wouldn't take long.
He flicked his wand in Marc's direction. "Explecto patronum" He said as he thought of something happy. At first whet came from hiws wand looked like a ball of fluf but it was soon appeant that the patronus was a sheep. In the blink of an eye the silvery patronus was after marc.
Marc, those rules are for Lyacns noyt werewolves. The potion I took was too weak and it didn't start work soon enough for me to gain control , I had no control over myself. If I wasd a bad person i would have left her there to befound by a teacher or student. and then on the full moon she would change and kill every human in her reach. I pray I prevented that be bring her here, appoligizing to her, healing her as best i could, and telling her everything i could I made a mistake. but I will not allow you to call me evil when I'm not. Now After you'vve stoopped running how about you think on what I've just told you. If you come to your senses come back. The patronus said as it flew next to Marc
"Sorry about that. I told you he's a nice lycan. he's also rather young" He said to Aether.
The wind wisped between the trees and the leaves rustled gently as it traveled between their branches. Things had been tranquil in the past weeks and there had not been a need for any irrational action. From the lone hill in the center of the Woods, the Lord of the Forest observed all things: listening to every noise and drinking in all the scents. In his stone throne, the man observed everything from the pattering of a squirrel to the shriek of a hawk, but there was something out of place. Two new scents were carried by the wind and his nose pricked as if it had smelled something rancid.
Those new scents carried the distinct odor of a canine, but they were not ones that the Lord recognized and they were not making their way toward him. Which meant they were not seeking his audience, which meant that they didn't recognize his sovereignty and therefore his rule would have to be imposed. Rising from his throne, the 6'5" man straightened out his overcoat and readjusted the eye patch over his right eye before trudging down the slopes of the hill. He could smell them alright, oh aye: a male and a female. And that presented a problem if they decided to breed: within in a decade they could overpower him with their brood. But if he dealt with this oversight now, then perhaps the future wouldn't be so grim and possibly heads wouldn't have to roll.
After all, Fenrir saw himself as a civilized and composed figure; that is, if one means barbaric and unstable. The dark-haired man was closing the distance when he caught a new scent, but one that he recognized as Marc Streampaw. The older lycan had figured that the pup had either wandered off or gotten himself killed, but apparently he was still in the Woods. Without a sound did he make his way downstream toward the scents and within a few moments he was in eyesight: just in time to see Marc fall flat on his arse and then bolt a few seconds a later. A mental sigh rebounding inside his head, the lycan changed into the loathsome wolf that ruled in these parts and ran to intercept Streampaw.
He had only gone for five minutes before he found the ideal place to snag him, and after transforming back into a human, Fenrir grabbed Marc by the scruff of his neck as the little fur-ball tried to dart by. "Ach, now why are ya running around in my Woods like your being chased by the Devil Marc? Ya know the only thing you've got to worry about here is me, and ya haven't caused me any trouble as of yet," said Fenrir in a surprisingly calm voice as he stared down at the lycan whom he was holding in his right hand. "Now Pup, ya just calm down and don't ya fret. Then again, if you've been fraternizing with fellows canines that dinnae recognize mae claims on these here woods...well we'll deal with that when we get there, eh?"
With that the Lycan Lord dropped Marc gently on his feet and then strode purposefully toward the clearing where the foreign scents emanated from. And right as rain, there was a man and woman that didn't smell like a lycan but neither did they smell entirely human. Shaking his head sadly as a parent does before they reprimand a silly child, Fenrir put his hands together and cracked his knuckles: stopping his approach about 10 feet from the pair. "Ain't this such a loverly day?" said Fenrir pleasantly as he looked around at the clearing. While his words portrayed kindness, his posture and intent held other intentions. "And what a bonnie bunch of lovelies do we have here today! Now Cousins, if that's what ya really are, were ya humans I would've killed ya just now. But you're not: you've got wolfblood in ya and that's what's keeping ya afloat for the next couple of minutes."
"Now humor me, but what I cannot seem to understand is, if ya were really wolfbloods, why ya wouldn't have sought out the Alpha or the superior predator." Fenrir's voice lost all of its humor and his single eye began to burn with the fires of rage. "Do ya not know who rules in these parts, whelps? Or has the name lost all its fear-inspiring nature and has fallen upon deaf ears? Well, let me kindly reeducate ya on the matter."
The large man seemed to be calming down, but that lasted only for a few seconds before his booming voice conveyed his displeasure. "I am Fenris Fenrir and these are my woods! Trespassers, be ya human or wolfblood, will be killed except for those that recognize my territory and swear fealty to me! Now Cousins, on your knees or prepare to meet your maker!"
NOW Fenrir decides to show up. He's been to the woods 4 times and Fenrir hadn't confronted him even onece and three times had been when he was in werewolf form. As annoyed as seth was with the Alpha lycan he dared not show it. He put his wand away and got of his rump so he could bow to the man that stood in challange before him. "Good day Lord Fenrir, I'm seth, but a humble Werewolf at your service. The only reason I came to the woods was to hide from those that fear me on the full moon." He looked at Athaer hoping she would do the same as he was.
"I wish no harm to you nor any in your woods. Forgive me for not seeking you out, i wasn't clear on the formalities. Marc told me you where the one run the woods, and I respect that. As for the girl here; my latesty dose of Wolfsbane was not as strong as I would have liked Aether her was the product of the beast and last night's moon. I Appoligize for bring another werewolf into your woods." Seth had gotten to his feet.
He and fenrir had similar builds. Seth was shorter and younger but as humans they where equal as far as Seth was concerned and the beast within was whispering to him tell him to challenge the great lycan. Seth wasn't that willing to give up his life.
