What to say... what to say. There was nothing really interesting that had happened in her life- or, at least, that's what she thought. Battles with vampires, going against an evil demon... thing, and doing so many other things. She didn't even notice where to begin, really. So many things that she could talk about... but which one to pick? Grinning a little, she wrapped her cloak around her a bit tighter and then looked at the sky, not at all suprised to see that it had darkened. It would probably snow again soon... bleck. She really hated the snow. It was so cold, and it made things awfully inconveinent.
"Well...." She said, stalling for a few seconds before deciding what to say. "I was born in a muggle town, nothing special, to a muggle father and a wizard mother. My father... needless to say, he moved out when I was three, so my mother raised me. When I was old enough, she sent me to Magic Horizons, and from there I came here. Nothing else that's really special. What about you? Tell me something interesting."
In an odd sort of thought, she realized that she was probably Muryllis's first friend at the school. Almost just like Xavier had been her first friend at Magic Horizons. Hm. She'd come such a long way since then. Upon thinking about it, she realized how truely ironic it ws. Hopefully Mury wouldn't get turned into a lycan and go on all the crazy adventures that Xavier did.
Interesting, eh? He couldn't tell her about his eccentricity, for, aside from the fact that it would make him seem like a lunatic, it was difficult to explain. He could, however, spin a tale (as he had learned to do in the Muggle-infested territories of Nostri Magi, holding, as a code, the secrecy of the Magical community.) There wasn't anything interesting - at all - to throw around. Well, he did adore Medieval history - both Muggle and Wizard - but that was too plain.
"Bah, there's nothing at all interesting about me," he said. "Our school was too strict - more for safety than the 'openly hidden' schools like this one - to allow anything truly fun to happen. There are some magical tricks that I know, namely silent casting, but those are or will be old news here (that's something everyone knows), so I'm, quite simply, bone dry of interest." Hmm.. he wondered if that knight was still well-defended in his keep; it would be very bad if he escaped the siege...
And so, he decided to spin a tale, brushing aside the possible consequences it would most likely have. "Well, there was that time I was put under the Imperius Curse by a professor; apparently, I had been playing around with hexes on my classmates, so he had me stop casting, then he made me brew a potion of Amnesia, which I drank to forget the hexes. Our school was, after all, strict on keeping secretive discipline, so offensive spells such as those were forbidden."
Thinking quickly to fill in gaps, "I was told later by a friend - whom I had cursed to grow nose hair at a breakneck speed - about that, which is how I know." He grinned; nothing like spinning the old tale to keep a crowd happy.

Safety... that had never been something she had to worry about. Magic Horizons, much like Firefox, had such vast grounds that she could go anywhere and do anything that she wanted. There was no reason to hide, since they had so much land and the school was very well hidden- magic-wise, at least. She'd never even considered that there were magic schools in such big cities. Whoever started them must have been downright stupid. Why build a school for studying magic right in the middle of a muggle city? At least the founders of Magic Horizons had been smart enough to hide the school where muggles didn't feel like going.
"That is interesting..." She said, recalling the time that Carmen had used the crucio curse on Mai. That hadn't gone over very well either. "I don't think our professors here are allowed to put us under the unforgivable curses, but you can never really tell. I'm not sure if Talon- err, Headmaster Windwaltz.. would actually dismiss them for something like that. And answer me this- why was someone stupid enough to build Nostri Magi right in the middle of a city?"
She crossed her arms over her chest and glanced up at the school- good, they weren't too far away. She wasn't sure how much of this biting cold she could stand. Maybe there would be some hot chocolate and marshmellows waiting for them once they got inside...
Another worthless tale spun perfectly; great conversation "glue", he could give them that. "I'd hope they frown upon the use of those curses; I had an insane headache after that go." He chuckled. "As for our school, that's an interesting story; the school was founded hundreds of years ago. Apparently, the pope at the time was intrigued by magic, and so allowed it. With his permission, some wizards and witches had a school constructed in Rome, in the same style as the rest of the city. It was called Nostri Magi, Latin for 'Our Magi'"
"This school was pretty much forgotten over the next few decades by the Muggles, including their authorities. That was especially nice, considering that the next pope despised magic (I heard that a good friend of his had been killed in a duel by a dishonorable wizard), and so had every wizard he could find quartered and fed to the guard dogs. With funding cut off, the school's administrators could not move the entire magical population out of Rome, topping it off with a new school. They had to stay, so rules were made stricter, and the half the things taught at the school were for the purpose of staying unknown from the Muggles; wandless casting, spells of silence, various charms, and the like."
"And so it is today, an expertly hidden school for the magic arts, yet still as professional as a school gets. Logical enough, wouldn't you say?"
Conversation glue was, to an extent, her specialty. No matter what the topic or the occasion, she could always find some new or unusal way to talk to people, both new and old. Occasionally she'd just run up and tackle them, not even bothering to say hello. Other times she'd just run up to them and make a weird face, just to see what they did. Most of her friends made an even weirder face in return, causing them to start a weird-face-making-contest. Well... Faye definitly never said that her life was boring.
"Ahh, muggle problems." She said with a nod, knowing that was why many good magic schools had gone under. "I suppose that makes sense. And learning there must have definitly been an interesting experience... perhaps you could teach me some of the spells sometime, if we've both got a bit of free time."

((OOC: you have no right to call your posts short when you are in the same thread as I))
Yes, muggle problems. Sneaky little kids, gossiping women, overprotective men... it's quite amazing that Nostri Magi had managed to survive. Guess that's expert magic, he thought. "Well, I hear that Roman wizards often were more adept than other European wizards; remember, Rome was, for the most part, more civilized for a longer time, while other European nations were mostly pagan, relying more on their Gods for magic, never really experimenting for fear of disapproval from them."
"As for teaching you magic... I guess we can find some texts in the library that have some of that stuff, or we can just go straight to the dueling area and I can give you lessons. Silent casting, once you get the hang of it, is an invaluable asset, one that you'll find useful in almost every way. I assume it looks good to teachers, too," he added with a smile.
So.. spellcasting lessons. So many interesting charms, skills, abilities - so much to pass on to this girl who probably knew more than he did in every possible way. I guess it's just her eyes.. or that huge bright thing in the sky, he thought, as he squinted up at the sun until his eyes watered.
"Lets go in?" he said, for they had reached the gate.
Hm. That history actually made sense to her, which was a rare thing. She'd never been too good with European history, but this kid seemed to know his stuff. Speaking of kid... she suddenly took a good look at his face, trying to guess his age just from looking. Sixteen perhaps, the same age that she was, or maybe an old fifteen. Probably only a year below her, if that much. Hm. He was awfully smart for being that young; but maybe he'd just been taught more at this Nostri Magi place.
"That does make sense." She said, nodding slowly. "Early Puritans used to burn witches at the stake as well, so I guess that's why American Wizarding schools didn't get too popular until the sixties. That's when- or so I've heard- the americans smoked a lot of weed, and apparently started believing in magic again. But that might only be a legend."
"And sure. But let's skip the books and head straight to the dueling hall- just to see which one of us is the better dueler." She said, a playful grin on her face. She really did like a challenge every once in a while, and Muryllis might- or might not- prove to be that challenge that she wanted. No, not wanted. Needed.
"Sure." She replied, reaching into her bag and pointing her wand right at the gate. After whispering a few words, the gate glowed golden and then swung open. It really was a magical way to just get in through what looked like a normal muggle gate.
ooc: Sorry; I've been so lazy lately. xD Here's my rather late/short response.
She shrugged. Did all guys have food on the brain all the time? It was so amusing, more than it was annoying. She wasn't all that hungry- after all, she had just eaten a sandwich. But she was the kind of girl who always liked to be eating, so one more dish of food certainly wouldn't hurt her at all. But she didn't want to delay in getting the chance to try out some of her spells.. hm.
"I think that we might be able to get a house elf to bring some up to us." She replied, walking up the stone walkway and towards the very same door that they had just come out. "If they say they can't, I might know someone who can pull a few strings for us."
