Kat was pretty sure that the table had made contact, because the bar had gone silent and she could see Anil’s foot sticking out, limp. Sure, that was probably unnecessary. She didn’t really care. He had just wrecked the whole bar. He deserved some quiet time, maybe to reflect. Ha.
Another person had ventured into the bar and made her way over to Anil. Of course, according to Murphy’s law, it had to be a former student of Kat’s that never liked her. ‘Never liked’ was putting it midly.
Kat was pretty sure that Miss Roan Aliagh hated her. The look she cast Kat after seeing Anil on the ground unconscious oozed in irritation and anger. Funny, I always though Roan hated Anil... Of course, Kat would be the one to take the blame in her eyes. Kat was the wrong do-er. Kat could never win with that girl. But now, there was no guilt. A few years, a few drinks. Kat had moved on.
“His wand please, I’ll make sure he doesn’t get it back until the drink is out of him,” Roan said, addressing her with a hand outstretched.
There was another moment of silence and Kat tossed her Anil’s wand lightly and without hesitation. She didn't care, it wasn't her fight. “I’m not here for a fight Roan. Nor did I cause this one,” she said, gesturing to the destruction around them. Kat spared a glance at the other two gentlemen next to her who had been silent. She turned on her heal, then proceeded to the leave the bar.
The cool air outside hit her face and she sighed, but a little smile crept on her face, and small chuckle came out shortly after. “He totally deserved that..” Kat said quietly and started down the street.
