(BIC)Star then felt another strange feeling come to her. Maybe all she was really feeling was a connection of a lasting friendship. Maybe what she was feeling was not rejection, but knowing that a friendship had been made. This answer to her was so much more simple then thinking about....love....
She couldn't help but smile an evil smile as he asked to dance with her. So this is what their friendship would be. It would be a challenge! Yes! Star could understand her feelings now. It was like opening a door.
"I will lead, but that is only if you can keep up, sir!" She said in a challenging tone.
Star was ready to move past the rush of feelings she had for him and was ready to make their friendship stronger. That was all Star really wanted now.
Star took his hand and placed it on her waist then put her own hand on his shoulder. Then took her free hand and grabbed his free hand. They were now in the dancing position.
"1, 2, 3, and 4." Star said, giving him the beat of the song that she was thinking of.
She began to move immediately repeating the beat out loud to keep her and him on track. The beat was a fast pace and Star continued to count and smile as her small frame danced faster and faster but gracefully and smooth at the same time. She guided Lucre along the way and the steps melted together to preform a dance that would look devilish up on stage.

Truth be told, Lucre didn't have much experience with dancing, especially the professional type that Star was now so passionately sweeping him into. Even though he subconsciously felt himself stumble a step here, or miss a step there, he could feel himself warm up to the feeling that Star was escorting into this dance with him. Being so happy that the brave Star returned once more despite her wordless conveyance of a pre-emptive heartbreak, Lucre knew quite well that he could easily come to like Star, a lot more than he should. And dancing this good was the perfect way to win him over to such complicated feelings.
After ten seconds or so of tangoing, he had warmed into the natural rhythm on his side with his movements, matching Star's movement with little trace of flaw in footwork. Even with the limited applications of skills he had though, he was still matched against a girl who's passion obviously lied in dancing every chance she got! How wonderful it would be if he saw the name Star Andrus leave a real impact on the magic or muggle world years from now. However, to really make such an impression, she'd have to apply the best of both worlds to her trade. Star's a brilliant girl though, so he didn't see any reason to worry.
His hand holding her waist as firmly as the other did her hand, Lucre kept his gaze steady as it dived down to her feet, her shoulders, waist, anything that would help him link his movements to hers. His foot slid out as hers thrust back, and he followed in suit as the two spun about to the beat of Star's song. Adding a couple of moves in here and there as he twirled himself and his partner and pivoted and slid when the need called to bring himself back to Star, the performance was every bit what he had hoped for.
Two minutes of this, and Lucre felt like he had danced the entire span of time the Start-of-Term Dance that made that night he got to enjoy so little of. Lucre finished with a standstill as he claimed Star back into his arm, the other hand holding hers up high.
"I've -got- to take you to the next dance. Interested?" he breathed, very elated.
Star noticed while dancing how quickly Lucre was able to catch up with the beat which made him an excellent dance partner. She even found herself thinking that maybe the dancing world was not at all new to him. Perhaps, she thought, being handsome, rich looking, and cunning also includes being an incredibly good dancer.
Star's smiled widened as there dance ended. She hadn't had a partner to dance with in a very long time. Maybe even too long. Star felt somewhat rusty while dancing, but, of course, she still knew the moves very well.
Her chest moved in and out as she drew deep breaths of air. She raised an eyebrow as Lucre asked her to the next dance. It was something that slightly confused her making Lucre a even harder puzzle to figure out.
"I would love to go, but don't you think you will be wasted by the time the dance is done?" Star joked, a teasing smile on her face as she noticed she was still being held by him.
"Only joking. You really are a wonderful dancer. You have so much talent I was almost wondering if dancing is something you like to do in secret." She added in a questioning tone, her chest still rising and falling.
