Within the past few minutes, Talon's heart had gone from absolute bliss to a complete numb, which was then followed by gentle relief that turned back into absolute bliss. It was a full circle of emotions that was, like most cyclical journeys, trying but rewarding. His girlfriend's sigh of relief was more important to him than her simply conceding. Talon could sense that he had made a point, and a helpful one at that, and perhaps the Nurse would get some sleep tonight because of it.
"It's alright," the Headmaster said gently, releasing his hand from the witch's and running it through her hair. Her next question, however, didn't make his nerves twitch or his heart abandon ship, but rather left him feeling the slight strains of guilt one feels after doing something openly that would not be approved by another. "Well...I haven't very well made it secret that I care for you..." Should he phrase this a certain way? Would that make the situation better?
"Alright, so I was a little bit more than hinting about our relationship to the Herbology Teacher, Leseur Follet. He's a very nice man, has a bit of a beastly temper sometimes-" he had no idea of the pun he had just made "-but he's a good sort. Otherwise, I suppose Sylph and Forgoil know, and if they don't, they will...somehow." He tried to lighten up his statement, though he knew that she would probably find it as humorous as it was intended without any additions to his vocal tone.
"But prudence is a virtue, they say, and while I'm certain our friends and colleagues will no doubt know by the end of the year...if even that long, I won't announce it to the world that Rezna Lardale is the love of my life until later on," Talon said as he beamed at the woman, his hand running through her hair stopping on her cheek, "or at least until I meet your parents, anyway."
