By Decree of the Interim Minister for Magic and Minister Plenipotentiary of the International Confederation of Wizards to Iberia,
The Office of the Minister, in conjunction with the Department of Magical Law Enforcement and the Department for the Regulation and Control of Magical Creatures, does hereby place on trial a group of students from the magical institution known as Firefox University for a variety of charges. The trial will be held under the honorable Julius Plutus, Minister for Magic. The prosecution shall be headed by Julian Forbes, Chief Auror of Iberia. The defendants shall speak for themselves unless one of the guardians, constituted as an official representative of the Office of the Headmaster of Firefox University, heads the defence for them.

Within the Interim Ministry's mansion was a special chamber meant for holding official hearings and trials (official being those that do not require extra secrecy, such as the Ministry's prosecutions of former Shadows and other questionable things). With no Wizengamot or other high council yet assembled in the interim ministry, the Minister for Magic himself acted as sole arbriter of justice, with a jury recommending to him an appropriate course of action but otherwise more-or-less ceremonial. Dementors milled about at the exits of the room.
A group of students at Firefox University had been caught attempting to forment rebellion against the Ministry of Magic. A list of members of this small group had found its way to the Minister, who in turn handed it over to Headmaster Windwaltz. The Minister and Headmaster were currently discussing how to deal with the rebel students, the former willing to be more lenient in exchange for cooperation from the latter. Several students, however, had already found their way into Ministry custody for separate reasons. Thus Plutus, to deal justice and to set an example to those who would challenge the authority of the Ministry of Magic, decided to hold a formal trial.
The defendants were dragged into the room, standing in the center of what resembled a little arena. Seats around the walls held reporters, purple-robed Iberian Ministry officials, some students, and curious witches and wizards from Triangle Tunnel. At the front of the room was a large pedastal with a seat on top of it, and to the right--on the same level as the defendants--was a table for the prosecution. At the table for the prosecution was also a seat for a representative of the Black Forest Church.
"All rise for the Minister for Magic," announced a purple-robed guard near the pedastal.
Julius Plutus strolled in wearing a set of black robes with deep purple lining, and a hat different than the one he usually wore. He made his way atop the pedastal and raised his wand to his throat, amplifying his voice.
"We are gathered today to place on trial the following students of Firefox University for the following reasons:
Gwen White, Slytherin Student of Firefox University, is charged with conspiracy against the Ministry, sedition in inciting rebellion against the Ministry, performing an Unforgivable Curse in at least one circumstance, and casting the Dark Mark of the Death Eaters in Triangle Tunnel."
Gwen, who willingly turned herself in, was given a seat as the Minister continued speaking.
"Shadonius Clearwater, Slytherin Student of Firefox University, you are hereby charged with conspiracy against the Ministry, sedition in inciting rebellion against the Ministry, acting a chief proprietor of said rebellion, casting the Dark Mark of the Death Eaters in Triangle Tunnel, and being in possession of a highly illegal animal."
Shadow was given a seat as well. The Minister placed the parchment he was reading from down. "If the Black Forest Church would like to present Felix Genero, Gryffindor Student of Firefox University, for trial as well in the case of possessing an illegal creature or potentially being involved with this rebellion, they may do so now."
Plutus took his seat, the others in the room doing so.
"Prosecutor Forbes, the floor is now yours to present evidence or witnesses," said the Minister.
