OOC: For anyone who didn’t….feel like reading over posts thus far, I’ll give a brief synopsis. (Going since my last post.)
BFC: Geneva chills, Selena wants Bismarck to leave.
Shadows: Roger shows up, gets hit by a stray bullet. Nicholas shows up, heals him. Roger is happy. Fate shows up and hides in generic darkness. Tobias shows up and is told to leave by guest post. Atra shows up. Grendel shows up.
Significant #1(Scorpius): Keeps to civil conversation with Bismarck, denies affiliation with Az and Fenrir. Offers to help catch Marc and aid in hunting lycans, dementor’s, inferi, etc. in return for everyone leaving him to his fortress.
Significant#2(Forbes): Forbes rallies all remaining troops from the ministry who evacuated to Drakborough, gives epic speech proclaiming Scorpius the root of all evil. Shows up with small army at Diadem, interferes with any dealings and orders Scorpius to surrender.
Bic:
Father Bismarck was surprised at the Count’s willingness to parlay. From everything the ministry liked to portray him as, one would expect a raving madman, more likely start rampaging around flinging hexes left and right at the first sign of opposition than to sit down and come to a compromise. Yet, in retrospect, it was often the case that powerful leaders weren’t actually personally skilled in anything more than charismatic discourse. Scorpius was obviously just such a leader. After all, from any recent records, stretching as far back as his first appearance in Spain, he hadn’t even so much as won a single duel against any opponent; yet he still managed to nearly bring complete ruin to the entire region not so long ago. Though the ministry was a powerful tool, it just might be that Bismarck had found one potentially even more useful.
Of course, since more shadows seemed to be popping in by the minute, it wouldn’t be long before Bismarck was woefully outnumbered by enemies. While he had more than abundant faith that those under his command could easily dispatch the Count and all his minions, it would be a complete waste of both life and time, especially when the Count seemed more than willing to aid the church.
Yet, before Bismarck had gotten the chance to make his counter-terms, that was when Forbes arrived, with ample reinforcements. Now the combined Black forest Church and ministry forces easily outnumbering the count and his minions. The correct path to take was blatantly obvious.
‘…poison the good Father's ears…’ Bismarck grimaced slightly at the suggestion, yet managed a weary and patient smile as he stepped away from the count and turned to face Forbes. “You arrive in good time, sir. When I had heard of the happenings at the tunnel I feared the worse. However, I lay claim to this fortress as an extension of the dominion of the Black Forest Church, though the Iberian ministry is more than welcome until they can re-establish themselves. Hopefully, this will occur in Drakborough if tragedy has not already befallen that unfortunate town now that it is abandoned.”
“I would have you aid me in apprehending the count, though there are two matters to address. The first is that the count is to be my prisoner. He is within my newly claimed territory, thus his treatment and punishment will fall under my personal jurisdiction. Secondly, I do not believe that any of his followers are worth keeping around, either for information or any sort of fair trial. Simply by repeated association with their organization, we can assume they plead guilty and for that they forfeit their lives to our judgment. As such, I would ask you to have your men scour and secure the entire fortress, taking care of any lingering shadows as is due.”
“As for you, Count Scorpius,” he said, turning back to the societies leader. “You are faced with two options. Either you may turn over your sword and wand, surrender yourself to the custody of the Black Forest Church, and disband your followers to die in whatever way suits them best; or you may try and fight back against greater skill and numbers, in which case you will all be slaughtered to the last man with little mercy. After all, history shows you having done similar to countless innocent civilians and regular townsfolk over the course of your career. The choice is yours, or your followers, should you be to slow to form your answer.”
