Lorraine shook her head in agreement with effort that approached vigorous. Of course she wouldn't set fire to...couches! That's what Gecko Gwynie had been talking about, right? Places where people sat down and made gooey eyes at each other? PDA awkwardness aside, Lorraine very much liked couches; they were perfect for curling up with an encyclopedia or two and ranked higher in her list of Happiness and Comfort than floors, even with how squishy and carpeted a floor could be. In any case, since the only spell she knew (?) at the moment was the mushing-together spell, hopefully nothing would be set on fire between now and her first lesson (exciting, exciting!). Unless she tried melding, say, the fireplace to a loveseat, in which combustion could be somewhat forgiven. And since the main goal of the squishing-gluing spell was to bring two or more elements together, breaking walls into pieces was not exactly a desired effect either. She'd get perfect at this spell first and totally impress Gecko Gwynie with it at her first lesson! She'd save practicing pretty floaty fluffy moving spells like the Lovely Ms. Divinations Professor Lady until her mentor could help her with it. Because the last time she had tried making things fly by clapping her hands, it had only scared all the buggies away.
"Okay," she agreed amiably, calming back down to her usual torpor. "I'll see you there then." Never mind that she didn't exactly know where that was, nor the fact most of her "practical usage" textbooks seemed to have disappeared under the enormous pile of tomes and notebooks filled with all sorts of useful information applicable to real life. Who didn't require knowledge of the molting habits of hermit crabs?
