It was almost two months since she broke up with Shadow. And since then, she has returned to her normally cold demeanor. To be honest she wouldn't even let a guy brush past her without glaring at them. Let alone when one tried to hit on her, she'd shoot them down cruelly. She just needed space, some time to herself to let things mull over in her mind.
"Perhaps the single life isn't that bad," a young woman smirked as she leaned over the guard railing with a cigarette hanging from in between two fingers. "I don't have to answer to anyone, nor do I have to worry about emotional baggage and attachment," the Slytherin smirked as a light breeze go past her heavily pleated green plaid skirt and sink past her black thigh highs. Her torso was found once again wrapped in a combination of a white button down shirt and a green and black corset over it. Her feet were covered in a pair of black heels.
Closing her eyes as she savored the sweet taste of the nicotine, the seventh year found herself in a peace of mind that she only wished she had earlier. She didn't need anyone coming on to her, nor anyone coming to annoy her.
However, she deeply felt that someone would. Just out of spite.
Christ, the Ravenwood Tower was tall. Harry had only walked up half the way and he was tired. Even though being a very fit lad, already recieving his six pack, these stairs were killing him. Why would you want to go up to the tower to relax when you have to come up this huge set of stairs before hand.
Finally he had reached the door and he was gasping for breath. Leaning on the wall he slid down and brought his breath back inside his body. It was then when he heard a girls voice through the door. Placing an ear he listened intently to the few words said. He recognised them from somewhere but didn't know where.
Clambering up Harry straightened himself up. He was wearing a plain white shirt with his gold chain. Black jeans held up by a blue belt and Nike trainers with a blue tick on. Before entering Harry unbuttoned the top three buttuns showing his skin. Also, he opened the bottom three to show the bottom of his six pack.
Pushing the door siliently Harry sighed. He wasn't expecting to see someone older than him. He didn't usually flirt with older girl - neither older gay men - but he supposed he deserved a little after walking all the way up them stairs.
Creeping up on the girl he leant on the side next to her. He noticed her smoking and nearly grabbed her hand before throwing the cigarette to the ground. He didn't know why because he smoked on the odd occasion but he just didn't think smoking suited girls. Deciding to talk Harry placed one arm on the side whilst facing the pink girl, making sure his shirt's buttons were undone and you could see in the gap.
"What the hell man," she muttered as she watched her cigarette disappear to the ground. Hearing the introduction, the Slytherin smirked lightly as she kept her eyes straight ahead at the setting sun. "Wish I could say the same," she replied with a slightly bitter tone.
Turning to give Harry her full attention, she rolled her eyes as her cold eyes locked on him. "Besides, who the hell do you think you are?" she asked harshly as she took another one out from behind her ear resting it betwen her lips, not lighting it yet.
Seriously what he did took a lot of gal, and to be honest, she hated it. She was never one for egos, especially with those of the male gender. And it was taking all of her self control to not hex him where he stood as he wand slipped down her sleeve and into her hand. Taking her eyes away from the younger male, she sighed as she placed the wand back up her sleeve, securing it with a bracelet.
"You know, what you did took a lot of balls," she sighed as she leaned over the railing again, letting her pink and black hair fall over her back. "And personally I can't stand the male ego," the girl sighed as she placed the cancer stick behind her ear. "And before you even think about it, touch me and I will have no shame in killing you where you stand," she said with a slight snarl.
Well as it was said earlier, she hasn't let a guy touch her since Shadow. And since she was in a somewhat bad mood when she got up there, this Harry guy just made it worse.
God, it's times like this I wish I was into girls. she thought to herself as she closed her eyes trying to calm down. And hopefully, Harry would catch on to her tone. Because she was dead serious when she said that she would kill him, or at least hurt him badly.
OK, so Harry hadn't really made a good first impression. This really wasn't very good. His aim had been to maybe flirt with this girl nothing more but instead he received a bowlful of back chats and snarls. He really wasn't doing any good today was he.
Looking down at his attire he wondered whether or not it was not suitable as this elder didn't like the 'male ego' whatever that was. But instead he decided to stand his ground and keep looking sexy even if this troubled girl didn't like it.
Harry really didn't have time for this girl. He had to get back down them set of stairs which were humongous. As he turned he realized something. Why would she think he would touch her? There was no reason for it. So instead of leaving he turned back around and lent over the side.
"I know I don't know you, but are you OK?"
Now H was scared. This girl was a mad women. She just told him that she would kill him and not think a second though about it. How could such a beautiful young women think like that? It just wasn't natural. However, pretending he didn't hear Harry just sat waiting for a reply whilst secretly he grabbed his wand and slipped it up his sleeve.
Sighing as he spoke once again, Gwen shook her head lightly. "Never was, never will be," she whispered. "And I'm sorry for the way I reacted," she muttered. "It's just since my fiance and I ended things two months ago, I have grown skittish around men again. I swear to god that he's stalking me, thus increasing my natural paranoia," she explained lightly, crossing her arms over her chest as she felt herself shaking with fury and sorrow. "And that is where I'm ending this tale, I refuse to explain myself anymore."
Sure she had almost full right to snap at him. After all, he did invade her personal space and began to act all cocky. But she did have to admit that he was somewhat attractive. If she was into his type. But luckily, she was. She preferred her men a bit on the mysterious side, and not this open. Sure Erin was open with her about some things, but he was just an overall sweetheart in her book.
Now this guy, she just assumed him as just plain annoying. And she had five galleons on the fact that she just might be hurting him by the end of the night. However, she barely gave him the chance before her defense mechanisms shot up to form a barrier around her heart and emotions. And that wasn't right for her to do that to him. But hopefully he'd understand it.
All the same, she really didn't want to waste her time with this guy. Sure he seemed cool and all, but he really didn't seem like the kind of person she could hang out with. And with how short her temper was these days, she wouldn't be surprised if she gained an enemy right then.
Understanding the elder girl Harry went to place an arm around the girl but then remembered the warning she had given him earlier on. He totally knew that she wouldn't be that open to males anymore. And even though Harry was a male he felt that it was a little better him being here now.
Again he looked down at his attire, and then thinking about what she had said. Silently he buttoned up the three bottom buttons before buttoning the lowest top one leaving two open. He knew that it didn't help but he just liked to think that it made her feel more comfortable not being able to see a man's chest.
He was sorry that she wouldn't continue talking any more. He wasn't usually one who talked unless properly chatting up a girl. To be honest he was more a listener. But it worried him a little that this girl was that open, heck he wouldn't tell anybody that he still hadn't had his first kiss. And the he realized, she was still 'this girl'. What was her name?
Glad that he didn't touch her, Gwen smiled lightly at him. "Thank you for not hugging me, but for the score I was bluffing when I said I would kill you. But that doesn't stop be from trying to hurt you," she smirked in a light hearted manner. Though she knew this guy was probably going to be an annoying twit, she found that she might just warm up to him later.
Smiling once again as he buttoned up his shirt, the older teen was slightly more comfortable now that she didn't have to stare at bare flesh. No matter how nicely toned he was. None the matter, even though she somewhat sworn off men, there was only one that could probably change that. But she had a feeling that he didn't return the sentiment.
"You still haven't introduced yourself."
"Nor do I plan to," she teased as she felt herself feeling a bit more comfortable with him. "Besides, a name isn't that important. It's like a title given, only to be remembered by very few," she muttered as she glanced over at the Gryffindor.
Harry knew that this girl was a difficult person. But he didn't let her know that of course. Instead he smirked as she looked at him locking eyes with her.
"Well, usually it is hard to forget my name when you've met me.
Harry smiled but kept looking at the girl. It was then how he noticed that she was a very beautiful young women. Even though there was beauty there it came to a surprise that she had been engaged. Such a young woman. Obviously this guy had been a freak.
Looking away Harry watched a few people down on the grounds. One couple in particular. They making out behind a school bench. That was what he wanted, to make out with someone. To actually lose his virginity to a first kiss. And as if by natural he felt himself getting closer to the pink girl. It was ever so slightly that he knew she hadn't seen it.
"And there's the ego again. Gotta watch it," she teased as she placed one hand on the rail. Diverting her eyes away as they locked eyes, the pink haired girl sighed inwardly. Do NOT flirt with him, she told herself firmly as she played with the cuff of her sleeve.
"You know it's impolite to stare," the teen muttered with a small smirk. "Let alone it's giving me the heebie-jeebies," she added with a small laugh. The seventeen year old sighed lightly as she looked down to several students walking hand in hand. Wasn't that supposed to be a spring deal?
Feeling his eyes off of her, Gwen sighed in relief. However, she found herself suddenly distracted by a couple making out. Pushing out her own memories of PDAs, the young witch closed her eyes shaking her head. Love, can't live with it. Can't live without it. She was so occupied with her thoughts, that she didn't even notice Harry inch toward her.
Harry watched the nameless intently. Why he was a little attracted to her was a mystery in a mystery. But he should have to play on it. Even if the girl didn't want it to happen. So instead he looked down and watched the kissing couple.
Looking away because of something going hard Harry wondered where to look and what to do. Yet again, his body moved ever so slightly to the right where the nameless stood.
Knowing that this girl probably won't hurt hum anymore he dropped his wand into his hand and placed it in his pocket. But he still made sure it was easily accessible in case of an emergency.
"Yeah?" Gwen asked Harry raising a single eyebrow at him. Though she didn't notice him moving toward her,she still found something odd about him. And not in the good way either. However, regardless of that, she refused to show interest in him. Well on a physical level at least. Perhaps she could make friends with the guy, but she refused to be anything more.
Looking back at the couple, Gwen found herself yearning for that kind of connection once again. Sure she wasn't interested in dating, but the teen found herself wanting that emotional connection with someone again. To to shallow out the pool, she didn't want that with the guy next to her.
Reaching into her sleeve to make sure her wand was still secure, Gwen sighed rolling her eyes. She was beginning to feel an awkward silence over come them. Not that she minded silence, it was just the awkward ones that got to her. But then again, they were called awkward silences for a reason.
Harry hadn't meant to say 'So'. It had just come out as if to break the awkwardness. And if anything it was so nameless could start a conversation. But instead she had turned it around to him.
Now there was just the problem of what to reply to 'Yeah?'. So, her just shook his head from side to side moving further away from nameless. He knew there was no chance in being with this girl so instead he would settle for friends.
"Just slightly," she admitted with a sigh. "And you?" she asked quietly, though she was still pissed about the whole cigarette deal. "And I got a question, why did you knock the cigarette from my hand?" she asked curiously.
Yeah that was a bit strange to her. It was all like, he acted before he spoke. But then again that's what pissed her off to begin with. She wasn't one that like surprises too much. So it naturally came as a major shock when she found her beloved cancer stick gone. It was almost like he threw off her groove or something.
"Just a little bit. I knocked it out 'coz I just don't think smoking suits women. I am not being sexist it is just that I don't think it looks right. I do have a stick from time to time but I'm not addicted"
Harry smiled at Nameless. All he wanted to do was relax and feel as if he actually had a friend. Usually he would flirt but they would never be his friend. So what was he to do?
As he knew that Nameless would probably never go out with him he hoped that his ambition to have a friend would actually happen. But still you never could be too sure.
"Well actually, that did sound a little sexist Harry," she smirked shocked that she remembered his name. "Well be glad you're not addicted. I quit a few years back, but since life has become stressful, " she sighed before trailing off. Sure she would have understood him asking for her to put it out. But there was no need to knock it out.
"You know, next time you have a problem with me or any woman smoking, ask them to put it out. Knocking it out would just result in them being pissed at you. Like I was," she explained still surprised that he wasn't going to nag her for her name.
