Ok, so Felix’s foolish arrogance just hurt him in two ways. One, he had just turned the nightmare that Phugs lived grew up into a melodramatic adventure, and secondly, he just basically asked for help then told the person he asked that he really actually didn’t need it anyway.
“Oh. Sorry. I-I didn’t realize. Well I did, but it wasn’t thinking. Sorry… bout your friends.”
Listening closely to all Phugs had to say, Felix realized how much he could learn from the Slytherin. Theories and stories were nothing compared to experience. Phugs knew exactly what to do when it came to vampires. Mark Twain once said that good judgment comes from experience, and experience comes from bad judgment. Felix only hoped the ‘bad judgment’ wouldn’t cost him his life some day down the road.
“I want to know to protect my friends. The silver isn’t safe at all. It means a vampire can smell me a mile away. See… if they want you dead and your blood is worthless to them, they don’t have a need to get close enough to bite you, they can just take a rock and chuck it at your head faster then a Nimbus 3000. I have no value to them as food anymore. I never thought about letting them get close enough to bite you before you attack… it’s genius. I guess… I guess I could never be a vampire hunter then, well unless I extract the silver, but I want to be prepared next time a Vampire threatens my friends. By the way, I can’t promise it will work, but if you wanted to borrow some of the silverwater, I have a ton extra…”
