If Morgan hadn't devoured the entirety of the Muggle Studies section of the library during the last couple of years, in dealing with Dr. Schmitt's sporadic class schedule, she'd have had no idea what Novus was talking about. Dislike for this teacher bristled under her skin, but she didn't let it seep through. She needed this class, and hopefully, it was only temporary.
"annnd go!"
[10:07:15] Morgan was looking at the table of muggle artifacts, wondering why Novus didn't tech muggle studies. He seemed to know enough about it. She thought about what she wanted to make. Some thing practical, yet creative. God, Felix would get a perfect score for this, Morgan was so sure. Not to mention the fact that there were about a million Gryffindors in this class. A major point booster for them right there. She accioed a few things that caught her eye and settled down to her work.
[10:08:06] She looked over her selections and smiled: a metal tin of colored pencils, a toaster, and a CD.Silly professor. She'd learned last year that Latin didn't necessarily need to be used. 'Come here' worked as well as 'accio'. Still, Latin was preferable, so you didn't will something by accident. And so that it was an international standard.
[10:08:19] She had a little trouble figuring out how to get the colored pencils to do what she wanted them to, until she recalled the muggle art style known as pointillism. Ink would be better, but she hadn't accioed any pens, so the pencils would have to do. She Focused and said, "Engorgio" willing only the wide opening of the toaster to get larger, extend through the back. There. "Fio Unus" she said to the tin of color pencils and the toaster.
[10:08:55] The tin of the pencils wound its way around the toaster. The metal formed feet, and little arms, making the perforated toaster look a little like a wide mouth. The pencils themselves meanwhile, were poking themselves through the top of the toaster-man. Well, the side anyway, which was now the top. She smiled as she remembered the heating element. yes, it would slightly liquefy the pencil lead. soft enough to make it smooth, instead of just dots. But not soft enough to melt completely, she willed.
[10:09:13] "Fio Oculus" Morgan commanded the CD. immediately, the disc split itself in two, each half becoming something like an eye. These were attached to the top of her creation, in front of the pencils.
[10:09:27] oh no, time was almost up. time for finishing touches. "Lacuna Planto" The real goal of her project. Forming words. Her invention was a note-taker. Something like what the muggles called a 'printer', only better. Not only would it write in readable hand writing whatever you put into it, it could also write down anything it heard. "Alacritas" Oh! She'd solved Felix's problem with his bugs. She'd tell him after class. Her unexpected discovery made her smile as she muttered the last incantation. "Accipio Lacuna Sonitus"
[10:09:49] She had time for a quick test, didn't she? She already had some parchment out, to take notes on. She fed it through the slot on the back. "Hello." She said, and felt delight a second later as she read the 'Hello.' on the page. It worked!

Comment:
Very good use of resources, you managed to create a very complete life form for note taking, which requires quite advanced animation, as well as making a creative creature. Unfortunately this project has no usage as for fighting, attacking, etcetera, as was the assignment, sorry. Even thought it’s practical, not for the use intended. The last point off is for missing the first part of the class. I was impressed of how original it was, never seen a voice to word converter in a simple transfiguration. Good Job!
Construction: 4/5
Creativity: 5/5
Resourceful: 5/5
Advanced: 5/5
Practicality: 3/5
Total: 21 Points to Ravenclaw!
