"I'll go first... After all, I'm quite confident in my skills... Even if it IS my first year here..."
Standing up, Lucius walked to the front of the class, and stood ready to face the Boggart... However, there were only a few things left he feared... and three of them were not the best choices to come out...

"Alright then Lucius," said the Scotsman as he walked back until he was alongside the boy. Then in a loud roar he shouted, "Prepare yourself!" and the hinges of the chest were knocked back as the boggart came swirling out toward Lucius. For a moment it hovered in front of him, staring eerily at the boy with its shapeless form. This, however, swiftly changed as the black mass began to suddenly contort in multiple directions. The boggart gave off horrifying shrieks as a faint skeletal structure was developed and soon the swirling shadows turned into human flesh. The thing was bent double, but as its writhing movements slowed down, it slowly rose to face Lucius...
...and the eyes of his father bore into the boy's.
The man had a few inchs on the Gryffindor, but had a similar build to the boy's. The minute he recognized that it was Lucius, the man sneered wickedly and spat in front of the boy. "Well, what have we here? That snivelling little brat that tore his way out of his mother's womb: ya pity piece of trash," said his father with disgust as he stared the boy up and down. The man balled his fists as anger swirled around in his eyes and he took a step forward toward Lucius. "You know something, ya little git? You're a nobody. You're a bloody nobody that thinks that he's got powers, but you haven't got anything! You are just a weak little boy that thinks dying his hair is trendy, but you're just one thing. A freak: that's all you are and ever will be!"
Standing firmly behind Lucius, Halifirien said, "Well then Mr. Inferno: how do you intend to solve this situation?"

Lucius wasn't paying too much attention... When the boggart assumed his father's form and stared at him, the teen took an involuntary step back from fear... Then as the man started insult him, his mind snapped back more than six years and to the reason he ran away... However, his thoughts of the here and now were messed up.
I should stop running... This is what I've been waiting for! I can get revenge on him for all the wrongs he's done to me!
It's not really him though... It's just a boggart in his form... I have an assignment to do, and I have to get on with it!
Restraining the urge to ignore the assignment and just repeatedly punch the boggart, Lucius pushed all thoughts form his mind other than what he would do.
"First of all, I would find the funniest thing I can think of, and then I would hold that in my mind... Then, I would use my wand to cast the tried-and-tested spell Riddikulus on the boggart, transforming it into the thing I find funny. After that, I would use laughter to finish off the beast."
With that said, he balled his left hand into a fist.
"Though before I sit down, there's something I gotta do... Doubt it'll work, but it'll make me feel better..."
At that, he let go of the impulse to hit the boggart and pretty much decked it with a punch.
"Too bad it's not really my father... I'd have done much worse..."
Score: 8/10
Great job Lucius, you would've gotten a perfect score had you not struck at the boggart. Just keep your temper in check next time, and everything will run like clockwork.DERP!
Criss had run the entire way to Defense class, wondering the whole way if this was really a good idea. Her family had always said she would have to face her fears at some point or another. Criss had other ideas on it, but she attended at their urging.
Criss rounded the corner, knocking some students over, and screeched to a halt in front of the door. Some students moved around her and entered. Criss swallowed hard; why was she so afraid? "I'm a Gryffindor..." She whispered to herself. Then, loudly, "I'm a GRYFFINDOR!" Criss clamped her eyes shut and shoved her way through a small crowd and through the DADA doors. She kept her eyes shut as she entered the door, opening them only when she realized she couldn't follow the wall to a seat.
Criss opened her young, brown eyes and peered around. All sorts of things were hanging from the ceiling, some right over the desks, and it made her shiver. She whimpered a tiny "nooo...", a shiver spiraling down her spine. Charizard gave her a small nudge from her shoulder, encouraging her to continue on. She walked forward and found a seat toward the front. She wanted to be as close to the Professor as possible so..so.. so what? He could comfort her if she got scared? What? She could do this...
Criss looked around, taking note that there were three Slytherins, two Ravenclaws, and three other Gryffindors... One, being Felix. "Charizard, um..." As hard as this was going to be for her, she had to do it... "I need you to fly back to the room, or go outside and fly around for a little while... I need to face my fears alone." That was true, and she didn't need to cause Felix any more trouble... while in class. Criss was really skiddish around things that went bump in the night...or in the day... or much of anything dealing with the dark arts. She was a sunshine, rainbows, unicorns, pretty colors, candy, coffee, and happy types of kids. Like she really needed candy or coffee anyway.
Charizard flew off, leaving Criss just as the lights turned out. Good thing, too; nobody could see her jump in her seat. A green glow followed the professor as he spoke, which unnerved Criss slightly, and stopped when he was done talking. One of the Ravenclaws asked a question, he answered with the most logical tidbit Criss had ever heard, and went to a closet.
A heavy black trunk accompanied the Professor into the classroom, and it was practically creating its own little atmosphere of anxiety. Criss tapped her foot under the desk out of nervousness and impatience. She wanted to see what it was, but also dreaded the idea. When the Professor announced it was a boggart, Criss shrunk in her seat. Should she run now, or wait till the thing was in front of her on her turn and run then?
The Professor brought the trunk all too near to her for her liking, so Criss stood and scuttled a few rows back, shrinking into the desk upon sitting down. She took out a red gummy and started chewing ferociously on it. Would she get called on? No. No, a boy from her house volunteered and stared down... His father? Interesting... His fear was his father appearing and calling him a nobody. Well, he most certainly wasn't a nobody judging from his display in class before the lecture.
Criss had unknowingly sat up to watch the display, and now shrunk back into her seat. Would it all be volunteer basis? She gathered not; they had to be graded somehow. She would have to stand up to the thing eventually and see her greatest fear. Now, or later? Now, or later? Now, later, now, later, now, later, now..... Criss's mind was boggled that she had to make a choice on it. Who on earth would want to face their greatest fear? Perhaps... Perhaps she could wait to see another student or two go first...

Morgan nodded at the professor's answer. What he said really was quite reasonable. Not that she was nervous about grades...much. She was a Ravenclaw. And besides which, if her grades slipped, Morticia would have all the vindication she needed to pull Morgan out of school. Not to mention Gwyn would have yet another chance to show her up. But wait, her twin wasn't here today, was she? Next time, Morgan decided, she'd drag her to class if she had to. No need to have Morticia blame her for that. She could hear it now. "You're the elder sister. You should set an example for Gwyn and guide her." Pfft. Older by like maybe five minutes. And no one guided Gwyn; the girl was a force of nature. The very idea was as preposterous as the idea of guiding a hurricane.
In the meantime, Morgan had missed her chance to be first, and watched as Lucius took his turn. His worst fear was...a man? His father? Morgan could understand how parental figures might fall under frightening. Not that Morticia or Nigel frightened her. Well, okay, Morticia used to. When she'd first come to Firefox, her boggart would have been Morticia and Gwyn. Now however, it was much worse. Thinking about what it might be made shivers run up her back. As Lucius's turn came to an end, Morgan's hand rocketed skyward once more. "I'll go next, sir."
Willow leaned back in her chair and watched curiously as the boggart transformed into a man simliar to Lucius in many ways, but much more indimidating. He reminded Willow of her uncle, and for a beat, Willow wondered what shape the boggart would take. Her uncle, come back from the dead, to tell everyone what she had done....The gryffindor shivered and sank further into her chair, eyes shut. God. The last thing she needed was a full-scale uproar on account of something she had left behind.
But her uncle wasn't the thing that scared her most, was it? She remembered the flash of the needle and Shadonious's furious shouts of accusal, then him falling limp, his pale face unanimated. He'd looked dead...If someone close to her died...But Willow didn't have very many people to her, even Shadonious and she were beginning to fall out. You're not very good at keeping friends, she scolded herself mentally. Even when Kesterel had torn out the very bone in her knee and taunted her, crucifixing her to that tree and telling her what she was going to do to her...
Willow hadn't really been scared until Fenrir had shown up, and Kesterel had offered Willow to him, to be eaten. She could see Sparky's dazed form in her head, there had been so much blood...That wizard, what had his name been? Exvind, but Fenrir had called him something else.

Frog watched as the red-headed Gyrffindor took an involuntary step backward when the boggart, which had turned into some relation of Lucius', started advancing toward him. Watching what transpired like a hawk, the grey-haired Scotsman thought for a moment that the Gryffindor was going to do something, but he got whatever emotion that was boiling under control and explained how he would handle this situation. Nodding approvingly, Halifirien was about to give his feedback when the boy suddenly struck out at the boggart and sent it reeling backward. "That's enough Mister Inferno!" said Forgoil sharply as he moved inbetween the boy and the boggart, his wand menacingly pointing at the creature. "I can understand if there was something about this figure that you hated, but refrain from striking the creatures we might be using unless they attack you first."
"Now you may be seated Lucius," said Forgoil as he focused all of his attention on the boggart. There was a part of him that regretted how he had just acted, but the boy had to learn to get that temper of his in check; otherwise, there were people out there who'd use that against him and he'd be toast if he ran across those blokes. Still facing the boggart, Halifirien said, "I can see that I slightly underestimated ya, so I'm going ta modify the assignment slightly. When the boggart assumes the form of what ya fear most, imagine that it is actually whatever ya imagine and that it is not a boggart. Tell me how ta defeat that, whether it be a pixie, a wizard, or an acromantula. That's your new challenge, so best of luck ta ya."

"M... My apologies sir..."
It wasn't that Lucius was feeling angry... Far from it, in fact, he himself was feeling pretty calm... But deep down inside, there was his anger... Catching a glimpse of himself in the window reflection, he noted his left eye was pretty much seeming all pupil than it's normal blue... That meant his impulse to lash out wasn't his own... It was his dark side's... Forcing the demon back to his subconscious, he knew his eye would change form all black in a few seconds.
Turning on his heel as he headed back to his seat, he looked over his shoulder at Forgoil.
"If it really was my father... I wouldn't have stopped at one punch. There are some things to keep secret, but nothing will remain so for long..."
After sitting back down, he buried his head in his hands. Not to cry, but to clear his head... Even though he knew just what his dark side was, he refused to call it a demon... That would be like believing in religion... But that was a fool's erred to Lucius; If there was a God or Gods, or even Goddesses, why would anyone suffer? And because of the evil in the world and the suffering, to him, there was no higher power... Thus, with no higher power for good or evil, there were no demons... And from that, there was no way, he would call his demon one... Just his dark side.
~~~
OOC: Lucius' views on religion do not reflect my own. No bashing me for my character's stance on the subject.
Other note, yes, Lucius has MAJOR father issues... Beating him within an inch of his life is tempting to this guy... But that's far too quick for Lucius' revenge plans... Murder is also out... But yeah... He doesn't get on well with his old man...
OOC: Hey no problem man. Playing your character to the fullest is what we live for. Now, my apologies but my injury has had me running between doctors and with midterms looming close I've been studying hardcore: but I've got a window, so here you go.
IC: Hearing the teacher say the name of the next student, the boggart struggled against its bonds as it looked for its victim. Breathing heavily and contorting its bound in unimaginable ways, it finally found the Ravenclaw and headed towards her for as far as the chain allowed it. Shrieking loudly, the monster started fading from reality until there was nothing but a black fog of what was left. Then the blackness suddenly began expanding and began blotting out all the light in the room. Frog's skin started gettting goosebumps as the temperature started dropping.
Whatever Morgan feared the most, clearly the boggart was doing a very good job at replicating it because Forgoil had never seen it roll out the red carpet like this. "Stay calm ya lot," called Halifirien from the darkened room, "The beastie can't break through those chains, so ya don't have ta worry about any surprises. Though I do recommend you deal with this situation very quickly Morgan because this blighter seems very excited and could set up a chill in a matter of minutes."
Oh.
Morgan froze where she was, halfway risen from her desk. The room had gone dark. As far as she could see she was alone.
This
Was
Very
Bad
"Not good, not good." Morgan whimpered nervously under her breath. She held her wand tight in her hands, and took a deep breath to calm herself. She could do this. Funny thought, Riddikulus, laughter.
Only, what was funny about this?
She imagined the room being crowded with her favorite people: Auntie and Uncle, Tristan, Professor Windwaltz, Teagan, Aether, Gwen, Shadow, Felix, Lucius, Sparky, Gwyn, Malachy, Ashelle, Dovie and all the rest of her friends and heroes. She drew upon her bond with her familiars to reassure herself.
"RIDDIKULUS!" She poured more force into that spell than into any other that she had ever cast. All three of her familiars lent their efforts as well. For a brief moment, the room really was crowded with the people Morgan loved and admired. All of them, every last one, were making the silliest faces anyone could imagine. Or at least, it seemed that way. Noting the absurd face her psuedo-sister was making, Morgan let out a big laugh.
As if Gwyn would ever make such a face in real life.
8/10. Well you did react very way under the situation, you behaved as if this was a boggart and not what it was that the boggart turned into. If my directions were not clear enough, next time please don't hesitate to ask for assistance
A gryffindor rushed in after Teagan--it would probably be like this for most of the class, students popping in late, one after another. Forgoil told them today's task, but Teagan really, really did not want to deal with boggarts; her own boggart would cause too many questions and curiosities. Lucius, Mr. Rainbow Hair, went first; his boggart appeared to be his father or some other jerk. The doors opened and close, signaling another arrival. Soon after, the sugar rush sister ran in as well. Morgan challenged the boggart, and it shifted into black fog... Was it a dementor? She used ridikulus, and Teagan got a surprise that made her raise her eyebrow slightly and hold back a smirk.
There she was, amidst a crowd of people including Talon, Aether, Gwen, Shadow, Felix, Lucius, Cobalt, Gwyneviere Pendragon, the albino Malachy, Ashelle, and Dovie. It felt like an ambush of her acquaintances. The fact she could identify most of them proved she attended Firefox University far too long. Then again, there was only one year left. Morgan let out a rancorous laugh.
The Monolayre kept her mouth expressionless, but her irises quickly became redder and could not hold back all of the cheer entirely.
She examined her double. Could she even make her face contort itself like that?
Talk about awkward. Why did her own boggart have to be so possible? If the boggart revealed her fears to everyone here, then someone could make it come true without an extraordinary amount of trouble. Teagan could handle her fear as a boggart or as reality, she was certain, but it seemed unnecessary. Perhaps students would continue volunteering in her place, and she would not have to let anyone know any truths about her.
As the boggart recoiled in horror before transforming into a myriad of people making absolutely absurd faces, Forgoil started clapping at Morgan's performance. "Very good Miss Pendragon. Clearly you have the ability to master your fears to focus on casting a ridicukulous charm and that's good," said the grey-haired Scot. "The intent of the lesson was to challenge this very aspect; however, I was hoping for your opinions on how to defeat something as abstract as the darkness that the boggart chose to become: perhaps at a later time? And no, you grade will not be badly affected by this: its the first day and I've got a reputation of being a softie, but only this once, got it?"
Smiling as the boggart slowly returned to its original form, Frog said, "You may return to your seat Miss Pendragon. Now then, who's next?"
Felix had been trying to watch and pay attention, but it seemed impossible. He knew that in a minute he would have to stand up and face his worst fear, but he didn’t have one. That was his problem. Nothing that Felix could ever imagine could frighten him, to any extent. He had already face some things that would be considered nightmares to most people, but he never exactly felt true fear. What would happen? Would the Bogart die? Would the monster just hide? Felix was actually fearful of what would happen if he had no fear what fear would become? A vortex? No…
Not even paying attention to who had already gone, when Forgoil asked who was next, the question echoed in the Gryffindor’s skull. He would leave today knowing what he feared, he would leaved with a nightmare, he was sure. Should he just leave? Should he hope to never learn his weakness? Might he just hope that his life would never face what he feared most, thus never having a weakness? No. He feared fear its self, maybe that American President was right.
Getting to his feet, Felix was determined not to think about it, but to just face it. Don’t think about. Don’t think about. Don’t think about. DON’T THINK ABOUT. He was there. Standing before the black chest, the creature within rasping to get out, a silence screech of trepidation. Felix would not fear. Felix would not fear.
Felix. Would. Not. Fear…
…but what?
"Ah Mister Genero," said the grey-haired teacher chipperly as the boy made his presence known. "Thank you for volunteering. And again, a quick recap of this exercise. I don't want to see how proficient you are at the ridikulous charm, I want to hear from you what course of action you would actaully take if what the boggart turns into was really your opponent. For example, if it turned into a dementor using the ridikulous charm in reality would have no affect on it." Looking around for any confused or daydreaming faces, Professor Halifirien smiled and said, "Alright, Mister Genero: the show's all yours."
Hearing those words, the boggart snapped its head toward Felix and immediately started heading his way. The shapeless mass soon began transforming though, as it sprouted a pair of legs and then eventually the upper body. At first glance it looked like it was an ordinary human, but then the thing started coughing up a black bile and splatter flecked its cheeks. Pieces of the things skin were dangling off at various places, and the flesh beneath it appeared completely denatured. The foul stench that came off the being was nearly in tolerable, but despite this factors it could merely just be a victim of leprosy.
It was in the thing's movements and in its eyes that one could tell that assumption was incorrect. Its left leg moved normally but its right jerked along behind it, and it seemed like it could only flail about in certain patterns due to rigamortus. And its eyes, perhaps once a vibrant green, bore no color but had instead glazed over with a putrid pallor. The face on this creature sagged and its moldy hair keep getting in its eyes as it tried to advance on Felix. Roaring through a rotten larynx, the Inferius threw himself toward Felix with arms outstretched; however, the magical chain around the boggart's middle prevented it from actually attacking the student.
But it would still be interesting to see how Felix would react with an Inferius inches away from his face.
Felix was most absolutely curtain that this petty monster would not find a single thing that he feared. Something that would make hum tremble, make him shake with terror, yet still it managed. Somehow… this Boggart reached deep into Felix’s subconscious and molded a creature just to make Felix… he could not describe it.
His heart pounded in his ribcage, like a ram at the castle door. It wasn’t fear, but adrenalin. His ears were so full of the endless rhythmic beating. The Professors words were just an shapeless echo. Felix stood there, the accumulation of dark magic swirling out. Not taking any form for a second, then it started. It was a man, a young man actually. The appendages started to form, and Felix couldn’t fathom who it would be. He was sure it would be something that was not the norm, not a mortal enemy. Felix tried to make out what it was, his wand in his hand, his heart beating, who it was?
Just as it was about to take form, it started slowly falling apart, as if being ripped up to pieces. Did it give up? Did it not find a thing for Felix to fear? Was it actually giving up? Felix felt no fear yet, then he saw it wasn’t mortal. This thing was an Inferius. The Undead slaves of a tyrant master, a dark sorcerer. Felix knew of this man well, Lord Azreal, it seemed to Felix that he practically knew him personally. Sure, Felix longed to meet this Lord, but not fear. They why would his fear become one of this great mans creatures?
Then he saw it. Before Felix could simply cast a wall of fire, a cage of inferno at the zombie, as the creature, filled with dark mist, drew near to the rich brown eyes of Felix, Felix saw the rich brown eyes of Felix. This creature was Felix. This creatures was something without free will, not alive or dead, something to live it’s life forever, without will, its brain corroded with maggots. This was Felix’s nightmare. This was Felix without hope of ever having a crazy thought, a extraneous idea, this was Felix without bravery, without that fearless stupidity. This was something, he couldn’t bear.
Felix wasn’t afraid, simply so grieved by the possibility, knowing he would never have to face it, even if it was true. Felix did not fear, yet a single tear rolled down his cheek, across his expressionless face, with a flick of his wand, barely muttering a word, rope of fire wrapped around the Inferius and pulled him back into a chest. The monster was yanked back, howling as more flesh fell off, but Felix didn’t care. Felix knew that Forgoil wanted the students to use real spells, and that it was the assignment, but this wasn’t the challenge, Felix would never have to face this.
As the whip of flame on it’s own accord yanked away the mindless version of the Gryffindor Prefect, Felix turned, his face showing nothing but watered eyes, sat down in his chair, still clenching his wand. No one would have know what he had seen, everyone else, all his friends, would think that it was just an Inferius. He knew he would have to never face this nightmare, his greatest fear he would never have to face, but he felt no joy, seeing how if this nightmare ever came true, it would be his last, and for eternity.
Score: 10/10
You displayed a great deal of imaginative thinking while dealing with the boggart and you managed to keep you cool during the process. I hope this first lesson is just a marker of things to come later: I'll be expecting a lot from you Felix.
