Sylph unveiled the bird and to Phugs' surprise it wasn't ugly or deformed. It was actually rather nice looking. It's colors managed to dazzle and awe in it's own certain way. It made Phugs smile, until it started singing. Phugsius blinked as the bird sang and suddenly his world was sent spiralling.
The previous grassy footing was replaced by the cobblestone streets of Hogsmeade. The sky was now black as night without a star in the sky and this darkness extended to every inch of the horizon. Buildings rose around him as if being built in mere seconds and without notice he was trapped. Surrounded by the very buildings which seemed to have been a grey haze no more then five seconds ago. His eyes darted around the town square as a figure stepped out from the darkness of an alley way behind him. Long blonde locks fell down upon the creatures shoulders and emerald green eyes pierced the boys heart. Phugsius almost felt the prescence as he turned to see his very own mother standing no more than ten feet from him.
His eyes widened in terror. He fumbled for his wand placed in his pocket. His feet began moving him backward instinctively and the figure mirrored every step he took with one of her own. The soft voice of his mother now eminated from the creature itself.
"Join me in eternity, my son"
Choked sounds echoed from the boys throat. "B-b-b-b...." Whatever he was trying to say was being stifled by the fear engorging itself in his quick-panging heart. His feet still propelled him backward his wand still outstreched in shaking hands.
"We can live together, forever, in immortality"
His back was now pressed against a wall but the creature still continued moving forward. Approaching him with such fluid motion it might emulate a ballerina.
Fear coursed through the boys body as the figure was now upon him a hand lovingly stroked his cheek before the woman bit into his neck.
The illusion faded as the beautiful bird stopped its chirping. The world he was previously in now dissolved around him. Phugsius stood frozen a look of absolute terror upon his face as he was once again by the shining lake, His wand still extended, his whole body in a tremor. The boy collapsed sitting back against the tree he had backed into. Terror still filled his eyes as he stared fixedly at the ground.
