The sound of shattered glass ringing in Kat's ears continued to echo until a sly voice replaced it. It was farther away when she first spoke, slowly becoming louder as she came closer to where Kat had landed. Kat could feel her own blood trickling out all over her body from where the glass shards had punctured her. She was almost surprised to find herself conscious. However, she was not surprised to find that she was shaking from the pain of having glass impaled into her. It was cruel.
"Sorry, there McGonagall. That's where you were supposed to have landed the first time,"
That voice, it sounded familiar. It sounded of her past. Kat could hear the sound of heals clicking toward her. In pain, but feeling it necessary, she put her hands behind her to lift herself up, biting her lip in pain as she did. Looking up, her violet eyes met familiar green ones. Kat's mind raced.
"See, this was where you were supposed to land, not over there. Looks like I did you a favor- probably the only guy you've been on top on in years," She said grinning menacingly. Kat felt anger bubble inside her. This girl was reducing her dignity by the moment. "You know very well, that isn't true, dear, Kat said threw gritted teeth. Before she could finish however, the girl interrupted.
"Thanks for your power, always earned you respect. Now it will get me some."
Kat's eyes went wide. How the hell did she learn how to do that? She stole my active power?! Before Kat could brace herself, the girl had delivered a mighty kick to the side, knocking the wind out of her. Kat's mind shut down temporally after that, being overloaded with physical agony. The next thing she knew, Melia was next to her and healing the glass-shard. Kat was lying on her side away from her other two professor's. Her eyes were rather wide as her mind raced.
“Are you two alright?” Came Anil's voice into her head. Kat gave no answer. Melia's stern voice came into the picture and Kat could feel herself being helped up into a sitting position.
"McGonagall -Who the hell was that?"
Kat knew she owed the two an explanation. She sighed and looked down at her knees. "Rosin Wood," Kat said finally. She was now noticing the prefects coming to their professors' sides.
"We're in trouble," Kat said bitterly, getting up herself. She wasn't a little girl or pathetic and this was one of her chances to prove it. Kat didn't really understand why she felt she had to prove it, but she knew she did. She looked at Anil, then to Melia. "I'm not sure if she is a threat to the students...but I would take all precautions," Kat said, her mind unfocused as she looked threw the broken window, her eyes sailing threw the rafters of the Hall.
