Onyx lounged lazily on a bench constructed of several chairs put side-by-side. She idly twisted around her finger an ebony lock of hair that had fallen out of her high, asymmetrical pigtails. Her eyes were unfocused, languidly watching her sister.
Ivory was a sight to see, actually. Her long blonde hair was hastily clipped up out of her face, though much of it had fallen down as she toiled. Her wand lay on a chair by the wall, discarded after several failed constructing charms. Ivory's clothing did not reflect the hard labor she was doing, with its hot pink T-shirt, white knitted shrug and fitted denim capris sporting pink sequined butterflies on the back pockets. A black smudge under her left eye showed that at some point prior to now, her makeup had been slaved over.
I suppose it might be useful to tell you what her labor was. The poor girl was surrounded by posts and boards that, when correctly assembled, were supposed to form a lemonade-stand style booth. Ivory shifted a board from here to there, surveyed her surroundings, and with a squealing grunt of frustration turned to her sister with a stomp.
"ONYX! Were you planning on, oh, I don't know... helping!"
Onyx eased herself back to reality gently. She turned her face demurely to her twin. "It had crossed my mind, why?"
A dangerous glare from Ivory's blue eyes cautioned Onyx from too much messing around. She laboriously rose to her feet and brushed nothing in particular off her fitted black tanktop, she adjusted the black mesh faux-sleeves encircling her arms up to the elbow. She tugged her jean shorts into a more comfortable position.
"Anything in particular you want me to do, Taskmaster?"
"Onyx, you're a butt. Help me get this thing set up. Did you make the banner I told you to?"
With difficulty Onyx resisted the urge to roll her eyes. She raised her long black wand and, with a sweeping motion, caused all the wooden pieces to rise into the air. Between the twins' wands, they fit the booth together, and with a final flourish, a sparkling banner shot from Onyx's wand and posted itself above the booth. It read:
in bright letters edged with sparkles. Onyx surveyed the glittering masterpiece.
"That's retarded. Ivory, why did you make me write that."
"I think it's cute."
"I think I'm going to vomit."
"Shut up."
"I wish you would."
"I hope people come. Even if they're not twins, just siblings, or best friends, or whoever. And would you stop eating the cookies!"
"Why? You bewitched the plate to never run out, remember?"
"But--" Ivory spluttered, "It's the principle of the thing!"
Onyx shrugged and took another cookie.

Terrible Twin Tuesday!
